Tammi has a beautiful voice, mouth, lips, eyes, heart, and personality.
She's an inspiration to Marvin Gaye..when she died because of brain tumor, Marvin's musical went downward spiral. and it took him 4 years to recover and made a comeback with infamous, Let's get It on and What's going on...and Sexual Healing..He even talk to Tammi on her funeral as if she's going to reply to him. There should be a documentary movies between the 2 lovebirds.
How can anyone - man or woman - not fail to be completely smitten by Tammy. just cant keep my eyes off of her: she is playful, unpretentious, and ofcourse it helps that the camera loves her. One of those rare beauties you wish you were lucky enough to have been in the presence of. Thank goodness for film to preserve her as eternally young, gifted, charismatic and beauuuuuuuuutiful!!!
Dionne Bromfield (Amy Winehouse God Daughter and label artist) looks EXACTLY like Tammi Terrell. She could play an excellent part. And she young and can sing too
@MirrorImageOfYou I only see the resemblance in their compextion but the closest resemblance I seen in both complextion and features is Taraji P Henson. She has the personality and acting chops to deliver a great Tammi Terrell to the screen, and she won't have a problem with the accent.
@MirrorImageOfYou I saw the video! I agree that the young lady has it going on... How's about this: Dionne plays Tammi from her discovery by James Brown, until her association with D.Ruffin... then let Taraj take it from there. No way can Taraj play Tammi as a young teen. If you purchase Tammi's bio by her sister Ludie, you will see my comments in the back of the book...
@PhyllisShepherd O wow! Now thats an awesome idea.... Ur right... They would need a young and older Tammi. I hope someone thinks of this idea and see these @ lil ladies would be perfect for the part
Hey Tammi fans, just like me lol, type in "Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell on the Johnny Carson show" where they sing "Aint No Mountain High Enough" it's very hard to take your eyes off these two singers.
YES!! IMO Taraji would be a PERFECT fit to play Tammi-both look strikingly similar. Funny info-the same year Tammi Terrell died was the same year Taraji was born [1970]. Taraji looks young enough to pull Tammi off though.....I hope this idea comes to fruition.
Would I be considered being mean when I said that one of my favorite interviews of this episode was with Weldon McDougal III when he quoted Tammi when she said: "I'm doing a duet with Marvin. I'm gonna make him sing. I'm gonna make that m*****f***** sing." I was laughing so hard when I heard that.
She was before her time. Born in 1945 she was so jazzy, and very beautiful. imagine her with today's tech. She's like Bruce Lee, the sky was the limit.( What if.).No one can touch her savvy. She would have been 65 years young if she was still here. I'm in love with someone who's been dead for 40 years. Sorry there's not more video of her.
I am so glad TV One finally did a story on Tammi Terrell. It was long overdue. I hope that someone does a movie about her life and career. The resemblance between Tammi and Taraji P. Henson is scary. It was a life and career that was cut too soon at the age of 24.
I am so glad TV One finally did a story about Tammi Terrell. It was long overdue. Tammi was on the verge of superstardom when her career and life ended at the young age of 24. I'm looking at Taraji P. Henson and resemblance is uncanny. I hope that someone will make a movie about her life and career.

Look at how she looks at him... Look at how he look at her... Mercy! I don't give a flug what they say--they were IN LOVE! Some soulmates just [for whatever cosmic reasons] can't seem to mate---not how they should. She should have long given David the boot, and he should have done the same with Anna...perhaps...perhaps we could have had them here longer.
Thanks for the post. I watched it last night. I had no idea of how educated Tammi was. If she was here with us today, she would have definitely been a force with which to be reckoned. I also believe that she could have held her own with Motown, due to being educated and outspoken.
Would love to see Lil Mo' portray Tammi in a made-for-TV movie... Lifetime, Oxygen, OWN, where you at? Lil' Mo has Tammi's height & Lil' Mo can pull off the vocals...and match that intensity. Usher 'll play a good Marvin Gaye in the movie. TVOne please do "Linda Jones," "Denise Williams," "Cheryl Lynn/& Laws," "Candi Stanton," "Vesta," and "Gwen Gunthrie," next. Thanks.
@sageofferings I really appreciated the insight into Ms. Terrell's life. I had no idea that she studied pre-med, so she was also educated. She seemed liked someone who could really make things happen. I was 7 years old when Aint' No Mountain....came out. I would sing it a lot.
@bsbanks: Since the 1st time I saw Taraji, I always thought she should've played the life story of Tammi Terrell...I'd been sayin' that for years. lol...Glad someone see's the same thing.
I sure hope someone invests in bringing her life to the big screen. To see her portrayed properly and get more insight on a lot of unanswered questions. Her life and Marvin Gaye's life should be portrayed. Tammi was so beautiful and sexy. Her relationship with Marvin shows how two people can be dear friends and really bring to life great songs. The love was there whether platonic or romantic between those two. She seemed to love life and have lots of fun.
I have also thought that Taraji P. Henson would be great at playing her since they look very similar but I also think Lauren London would be great at potraying her too because they were around the same age and look A LOT alike.
THIS is what I've been waiting for! I actually went on the tvone website and voted for Tammi to be apart of this season of unsung, along with MANY others who voted for her too) and I am SO happy that they chose her! I did want to see En Vogue's UNSUNG but I think their career may have been too successful to be considered 'unsung' (although they were a choice too).
@junieclay it airs September 15 at 7pm or 8pm central time... her sister also wrote a book call My Sister Tommie its based on Tammy Terrells life coming up its on amazon for 31 bucks i read some reviews on it and most of them talked about how the book could have been more detailed with her on the road and with motown
she does look like Taraji....
