@boredstudent It was "given" to PLATINUM because Kojima struggled to find the backbone to this development and all they really had was a fancy cutting engine, being a businessman he also didn't want to see these efforts put to waste and took the cutting technology, rang up PLATINUM and said hey we need your help. It was a co-development and the graphics you see in 2011 is not using the FOX engine its a combined engine, majority of it is PLATINUM's since it was easier to develop on.

I get they want to use the Ripper persona,but they could have used that in the prequel, Hell, he had all his memories resurface between 2 and 4, Ripper could have returned, but calmed his shit before number 4!! Hmm... the 2010 version definately looked and sounded much nicer and much cleaner, definitely more realistic, however, the 2010 version does make it look as if it could POTENTIALLY at least provide a bit of a challenge. Metal Gear solid has stopped being a stealth game since MGS3. It's a hardcore game, very challenging because it requires total skill/reflex to get one shot head shot. Did you check gameplay on youtube? Highest level 20, i am level 13 lol

The only time you can actually get away with going in guns blazing in MGS4 if you're actually playing normal difficulty is... well... pretty much never. MGS4 is still incredibly stealth based, though there are moments when being detected is unavoidable, there were also moments like that in 1 and 2
