Mobile Phones and Tablets like Apple and Android use Facetime. Facetime will eliminate ACN's technology in the long run. Who uses the home phone anyways? Yea probably the older generation 40+. Statistically people are getting rid of their home phone lines and solely using their mobile phones. ACNs technology in my eyes is outdated. In my opinion voip phones are only good for office use.

Have you people every even used these video phones? I have! The ACN phone gives completely crap video quality and the video lags all the time, it breaks up and digitizes constantly. It is like a satellite tv in the rain! It works fine if you call someone down the block from you, but if you use ACN to call someone a few states away it lags like crazy, heck even calling someone one city over lagged like shit on my ACN phone!

using skype isn't just about the video quality, but the audio quality as well. With skype and a good headset, the audio quality is great. with the shitty standard telecom handset you're holding, you sound like you're on the other side of the room talking through tin cans and string. There's no reason that a decent mic can't be used in a handset and why, after so many decades are there even handsets to begin with?

A lot has changed since this video came out. Skype is doing HD video in the client, two way video is now on the iPhone and will be on Android shortly. I've never been able to find the specs on the video on the ACN phone. I heard you say it's HD quality in this video, but the one we had never had HD. I think you maybe were exercising some puffery. For one, the phone connected via RCA cables, not Component video or HDMI. Second, when connected to our HDTV it was very very low resolution.

As a former ACN rep, I attended seminars & rallies where 2-3 years ago, the ACN Leadership told the audience that: "within 18 months, this video phone technology is going to be the bench mark & everyone is going to..." @halfpound92 I have found out from very reliable sources from within ACN (since I posted my last posting) that the TRUE REASON is that ACN was not able to get a "Telecommunication License" for South Korea. THe only way for SCN to "crack" that market was to set up a distributor organization, selling other products (nutrition) and later enter Korea's telecommunication market through "the back door"........ If you like, I am well enough connected to obtain evidence to prove my point.....

just got my digital phone. my buddy's girlfriend had to call back home to korea for 5 minutes. i told her to use my video phone because i get unlimited calls to 60+ countries including korea and she used it she did. for about 30 minutes.

Amazing quality and this isn't even the latest videophone, which is the IRIS 5000! In December, there'll be wi-fi connectivity and you'll be able to connect a battery pack to it! And better yet, you'll see more about the company on NBC's Donald Trump Celebrity Apprentice in March 2011 (just announced today)! Kudos to ACN!

Everyone has their reason for or against using skype, cell phones, or ACN video phones. But as for me, I hate draining my cell phone battery at home, then going somewhere with a battery that won't last the day. ACN Video phones can be left on 24/7. Skype has been around for a while, but you have to pay to call phones, and not everyone has unlimited cell phone plans, much less an iPhone 4 with video. Try connecting your iPhone to a big-screen TV. How well does skype work when you get a virus?

Where you 2 ACN phones close or 4000 miles apart? I have been to a ACN event & seen the videophone lockup during a demo calling in the same city! The SKYPE call was from LONDON to NEW YORK 4000 miles apart! Lets be honest here all VOIP calls will be subject to the quality of the connection through the Internet, SKYPE or ACN & over large distance there will be a time delay. Electric currents in solids typically flow very slowly. Copper wire is a solid! Internet uses Copper Wire!

Skype and ACN aren't even in the same league.  Skype can't call outside the network. ACN is cheap, unlimited calling with better video quality, sync and reliability than skype. You won't find serious business owners using skype to talk to each other.

I too use free services when convenient. Most of the time tying up my computer to use as a phone is stupid and cumbersome. I have better things to do wiht my computer than turn it into a phone.

@asoundofgoodness I happen to own a videophone and I travel a lot with it, when folded its about a 20 cm by 30cm, and 9cm? high, it fits into my suit case. I wouldnt travel with it if it were stupid, it allows me to stay connected to my family and friends so they dont pay long distance and are able to see me no matter how long I am away from home, It's a great piece of technology.

You might be underestimating just how vast the international market is, as well as the different situations, needs and personal preferences of each customer. I say Pepsi is the best cola ever made, but for some reason, Coca Cola gets a massive share of the cola market. Think beyond your own preference. By the way, how much are skype, cell phone and computer companies paying you? ACN is much more than a video phone company, and sticking it out for those 5 years would probably change your life.

And a big point was that people say skype is free thats only from pc to pc and some countries are available from computer to phone free as a trial, but then you gotta pay to get the number and to make calls and also you always have to have your pc on in case someone calls you. but with amazing videophone, you can just replace your homephone plus see the person you're talking to :)

Unless you have a direct connection with Skype, ISPs all over the world experience LAG, and if you don't have an industrial connection to the Internet you can count on experiencing the same thing. And not to forget Skype's servers have limited bandwidth. So by bashing Skype you lose actual credibility.

i think skype / ooVoo will battle it and continue to serve a viable market for people who prefer laptops

in addition to the truest mobile solution of cell phone to video phone, the video phone is plug and play - so anywhere you have internet access / with an internet jack (i.e. in your hotel room when you travel) you can use the video phone

further, you can also use your laptop (lowers quality of call a bit) to power your video phone... allowing you to use your full screen and communicate at the same time

about the CEO? any one of the hundreds of millions of online game players and internet users have experienced this same thing, worldly renown as network straggling, a.k.a "Lag". also, for tech-savvy vid watchers, we know that calling your video phone from another room just means you had it on LAN, and most LAN networks have little to no lag whatsoever. you also have to consider that information travels literally worldwide via satellite, with one to two-second delays between relay stations.

The call was made on the VOIP network not a LAN. For tech saavy people it's called QOS and it's why a true VOIP call is so superior to a computer based video call.

"voice over internet-protocol" is just a fancy way of saying something uses a network to translate voice data. a local area network is the same as using the internet except your data does not have to travel over hundreds of thousands of miles via satellite and ISP, which to consider when ISP bandwidth gets bottlenecked (eg, too much data) you get delays, or hence "keyword" here is Lag. I have no idea what QOS is, but that is besides the fact. there is no way physically possible to avoid lag.

QOS is your router setting called Quality of Service setting and it prioritizes your VOIP calls to use bandwidth first getting rid fo the lag seen in Skype devices.
