The huge cabinet sitting in the corner behind the organist is the most rare of the Hammond Tone Cabinets. It was a monster. It is also the most rare today. I found a complete one abandoned in a Civic Auditorium some years ago, I wish I had been able to successfully rescue it.
I have this model in my basement! It's a real treasure. I just wish it was equipped with the "chorus control", which made for a much more pleasant sound, IMO...but that's life. THanks!
Anyone foresee a 100 year anniversary re-issue of the Hammond A ? It's got to be the wickedest of all Hammonds.
