Hi guys - congratulations - great video and great performance. I am sorry that you have to face mindless idiots giving useless feedback (and I could tell you are brits). You have bags of talent. My only comment is to work on the vocal - the voice is good - use it to tell the story. Just as in the guitar solo each note was picked with a reason and feeling that's the way to approach the vocal - consider each information containing word (i.e. not the ands, ifs etc).

We have instruments as a result of years saving and practicing. I even built a guitar from scratch which was described by the Ernie Ball moderator as 'amazing'.

We're both grade 8 in our instruments, and my brother achieved that in less than 4 years.

Best advice I can give for you (the vocalist) is to toughen up your voice a little if you're going to do Corey Taylor, yes it's a softer song, but there's just no edge to the vocals.

I mixed this through a pair of Audio-Technica monitor headphones, and then checked the mix through a pair of SRM-450's, and finally a set of standard stereo speakers just to make sure it sounded reasonably balanced. It could just be your speakers, since if you're listening through a laptop or something, you might not pick up the drums so much since they're mixed with a lot of emphasis on the low-mids. Thanks for the compliment though!

@DrummerToast Wow! Thanks for the compliment! I've always thought that the other Alex (who is the singer in the other videos) is a better singer than me. He has a wider range and it was hard for me to sing and play lead guitar in some of our songs when we played live so he sang. During exam period I put the band aside and we've not had a done anything since so it's just me and my brother in all my videos. So expect more of my singing. @ADmixstudios Thanks very much Tim! This is some seriously high praise coming from you! And I'd love to do some kind of collaboration! Send me some suggestions! I was happy with the mix in this song. I recorded the drums with a mic on each and mixed them into a single track that I was happy with. Then I recorded the other tracks over the top. I used a fair bit of EQing for the drums as well as the 'final heavy master' with a bit of tweaking which is a gift from logic! What have you learned? :)
