I think it was big mistake for CCP to waste money on this project. Too much competition in online FPS genre. Sci-fi is not so popular, Halo is about only one that sells, but it also has bit character and mass appeal. Not being on PC or 360 is the death sentence here. They are alienating the game from EVE players and dudebros, couple potential target audiences. PS3 is also getting Starhawk, that could overlap quite a bit with this game, but actually brings something new to table.

If you want something that will run games better than a console, shop around for price/performance cards... a 2500k and a hd6850 at the moment is pretty much the best bang for buck you can get, and will play amazingly well at 1080p (that's full 1080, not upscaled like consoles). Not to mention you can sell your old shit so it's a fraction of the cost

I heard that the two games (EVE and Dust) will be linked online. Players battle for control over planets in Dust which decides what corporation controls each planet in EVE; the controlling corporation will then be able to use the resources of the planet they took over in Dust to fuel their game in EVE. Sounds cool to me.
@Dart118 MY understanding of the mechanic is that EVE Corps NEED DUST marines to fight in the planets for them ( on land ofc ) trough contracts, but we all know that there will be corps with members that are gonna be shooting on the planets while going pew pew on the space! oh and also that DUST 514 will have its own corps too, so there MIGHT be some DUST-only(mostly) corps for everyone to hire...thats what i understand

@VayuPurana the twist in this game is that your fights actually mean something and you will be interacting with people in a much larger universe. Imagine playing a CoD game but when the battle is over, rather than just getting a few extra stats, you actuall conqured a planet - this is a game where your actions actually matter, but if that isn't appealing to you then i agree this won't be the game for you.
Don't see why its not on PC. It's essentially developed on a PC so why not release it for PC also?

@comperko The game is supposed to be a cross platform. PS3 players will be playing Dust 514, while PC players will be in space playing EVE Online. It is kind off weird that this game is coming out on the PS3 only, while the universe this game sets in is on the PC. But hell, it is an awesome concept nonetheless.

CCP wanted to have free updates (aka expansion packs) but microsoft wouldnt let them. and besides that they said they wanted the xbox to remain a "unique" experience and would not share with PS3, to top it off the xbox cant handle it anyway, both hardware and software wise.

I heard that the two games (EVE and Dust) will be linked online. Players battle for control over planets in Dust which decides what corporation controls each planet in EVE; the controlling corporation will then be able to use the resources of the planet they took over in Dust to fuel their game in EVE. Sounds cool to me.

@Dart118 MY understanding of the mechanic is that EVE Corps NEED DUST marines to fight in the planets for them ( on land ofc ) trough contracts, but we all know that there will be corps with members that are gonna be shooting on the planets while going pew pew on the space! oh and also that DUST 514 will have its own corps too, so there MIGHT be some DUST-only(mostly) corps for everyone to hire...thats what i understand

@HeticScorpion this is set in the eve universe, which is already on pc. just look for eve games if you want to play on pc. the cool thing with eve and dust is that pc and ps3 players will be able to interact llike the upcoming counter strike global offensive game

@VayuPurana the twist in this game is that your fights actually mean something and you will be interacting with people in a much larger universe. Imagine playing a CoD game but when the battle is over, rather than just getting a few extra stats, you actuall conqured a planet - this is a game where your actions actually matter, but if that isn't appealing to you then i agree this won't be the game for you.
