Got this off Gene Pitney's Wikipedia page, things like this are more interesting than the mainstream hits of 1959! Cute little tune, and you can dance to it too!
Believe it or not! The was a record played on Buffao, N.Y radio constantly! I liked it because I was a fan of the late Teresa Brewer, and this definitely sounded like her! Didn't like the guy's voice at all 'cause to me it sounded like he was singing into a kazoo! About a year later I found out that Jamie and Jane were Gene Pitney and Ginny Arnell! I have a record by Gene under the name Billy Bryant not Bryan. Did he record under both of those names? Anyway; they are both great singers! Joe
Ginny is a friend of mine and her CD should be out sometime soon. She has contributed to the liner notes from what she has said. The CD will also contain the Japanese version of Dumbhead.
After singing with Ginny Arnell [Jamie and Jane], Gene went under the name of Billy Bryan. Then reformed back to his real name and became the greatest singer,[for me]
ginny arnell was put on the radio here in new haven a lot in the early 60's 1963 with dum head and the rain is falling.she never quite made it but the I liked her voice and she did pretty well in Japan with dum head in Japanize
Absolutely brilliant and the first time I heard this though I have the Ginny Arnell CD-earliest item on this is her Decca recording of We.
Gene Pitney was Jamie and she was Janie. After that Gene became Billy Blaze before reverting back to his real name.Ginny went on to become a minor one hit wonder on MGM but she has a stunning voice part Teresa Brewer and part Peggy Little.
When Pitney died last year I was as angry as Goddamn-we get left with crap like ---(fill in your own punkfunkmetaljunk)
I have this 45 by Jamie and Janie( Gene Pitney and Ginny Arnell)

@64098 Kind of a cha cha-ish rhythm...at 126 beats per minute. (Sorry, I'm a dance teacher, so I analyze things in a geeky way.) :-)
Of course, it's teen '50's and early '60's cha cha...without hip motion! LOL!

Ginny is now residing in New Haven Connecticut, strange to think she's a grandmother now.. time goes by so fast

Love it! Ginny sounds a little sassy in this one, too, which I'm totally loving!

I don't want to hear Amy Winehouse singing this.

Apparently, Rob Zombie is planning to record a version of this song with Amy Winehouse.

CHARLIE GRACIE version is far superior...but still nice to hear this version.

yes, I also find Charlie Gracie´s original 1957 recording of this song much better.

Aww - such a great guy - Gene should have gone on to a ripe old age, biggest shock of my life when I heard he had died. Much missed :-(

Unless they've been recently deleted, I know I've downloaded both "Dumb Head" and "Trouble's Back in Town" (by Ginny Arnell) as favorites.
