  • AHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm embarassed to say that I got everyone one of those references.... and i sang along to the theme music.... I need a life.

  • The pivotal part of this video, for me, was recognizing Dave's rocking chair, and getting excited because of it...as if I've never met you people before.

  • the shower scene oh my god ahahah

  • Good God, this is my boyfriend and I

  • How could you guys not like Click and Clack! They are one of my favorite shows on NPR. Them and A Prairie Home Companion. The old school sound effects are magic to my ears :)

  • Thanks! It's nice to know there are other NPR nerds out there. I see myself in every line!!!

  • "dakar!" That's awesome.

  • i literally did not understand anything said in this video

  • I KNOW ALL OF THESE REFERENCES. What is wrong with me??

  • I have driveway moments EVERYDAY. It's like you can see inside my head.

  • *ded* at singing the theme songs.

  • Oh god the Pledge Drives... They never end. They never, ever, ever end.

  • Would I love having friends like this, or would I be like "You're getting on my nerves, me."?

  • @klausfuture Probably both! :-)

  • Oh my god, so sad that I know exactly what all of these mean. Also, I had a professor at Harvard who sounded EXACTLY like Scott Simon (Gary Urton, anthropology). I didn't even realize I had subconsciously absorbed Herman Miller aeron chairs until you mentioned them. Advertizing through osmosis.

Furthermore, is Bob Oakes Canadian? The way he says his last name is just like how someone from Toronto says "about", like "uh-behwt". "Bob Ehwkes".

  • I only wish you had specified that they were selling ALL colors of the Herman Miller Aeron Chair, including True Black

  • @deesave hahahaha....they totally need to put that in. And "my Indian friend said it should be pronounced "Luck-shmee Singh"

  • @ilovemyindia agreed! she's been on a lot more lately and i've always been surprised that she pronounces it "lack-shmee"

  • @deesave My name is Lakshmi, so it used to drive me crazy. I mean, she's in a position to help a sistah out, you know? But then I found out that she's Trinidadian, so I forgave her. :)

  • @ilovemyindia ahhh i had no idea!

  • @deesave

    I died.

  • ..my mom and my conversations consist of this..

  • Da-kaaaaaarr!

  • Guilty! (That was hilarious.)

  • Are you guys from lexington ky?

  • @XaliroseX Albany, NY

  • @sarahlynnladuke oohh a lot of those names are on radio stations here, thanks for replying:)

  • @sarahlynnladuke hayy new york!!!!!!!!

  • Lake Woebegone!

  • Holy crap that was funny! Thanks!

  • Shout out to Kris Boyd of KERA 90.1 in Dallas (North Texas). Think deserves national syndication, it's awesome!

  • As soon as I saw Ira Glass in real life it changed my whole vibe of him forever.

  • I love that beard.

  • haha... I hate pledge drives though I understand them. Maybe I'm just listening to the wrong ones.

  • I didnt get 70% of these, but the last one killed me haha

  • funny that i know all the things they mention

  • Great stuff.

  • What is this? Public radio in my area only plays classical and modernist music.

  • @MorroccoSurrogate Usually they have National Public Radio in the mornings, in the evening, and on the weekends. Other than that they usually have jazz and classical on.

  • I have said all of these things...I always sing the themes in the morning. And I always add vibrato. Excellent work.

  • 'It's Carl Castle on my voice mail' hahaha classic

  • My two favorites were...I feel like the last pledge drive just ended & that was a total driveway moment. I just couldn't get out of the car.

  • Wow- I loved this. I wondered what Nina Totenberg looked like just today!

  • "On the Media" IS META, guys.

  • I wish I had friends who listen to npr as I do. Then I could talk this sh*t, too.

  • Kinda like a really funny, clever NPR show, only with all the humor and cleverness removed.

  • @spencer212 Sweet insult, bro. You're a regular Mike Birbiglia.

  • Excellent

  • Absolutely spot on. As Joe would say, "amazing!" Love you guys!

  • I change the channel when "Wiretap" comes on.

  • Ofeibea Quist-Arcton in .... DAKAR!

  • Dakarrrrr!!! For the win.

  • I love this!!! although, I was totally expecting you both to lean back on the front steps, take a deep breath and say "This... is Fresh Air!"

  • I can't believe other people think the same things!

  • This was hilarious! We say all the same things, all the time. Excellent work! You guys nailed it!

  • KAJON I LOVE YOU WHAT'S THE SITUATION ON THE 101????

  • Singing the themesongs — yes. Also “she has spasmodic dysphonia” is the funniest unfunny funny joke.

  • psh, who LIKES listening to the pledge drive?

  • Yes, yes, and yes... except true fans already know how to spell those names. :) "DAKARRRR!!!"

  • That is maybe a little sad how much that sounds like me...

  • Hilarious! Laughed so hard I nearly cried. Thank you!
