He really is like Uncle Buck in real life too wow, you can see he was such a good father with kids depending if they were teenagers or even little kids. Amazing man!!
you know, his last name "candy" really suited him because of his jolly personality, i just got into John candy and finding out that he's dead just broke my heart and killed me.
I had a Far Side daily calendar as a schoolgirl. My uncle got it for me because I didn't like getting up for school. But it did work for me: Peel back a card, study the cartoon for a couple of seconds until the joke kicks in…and you're ready to take the challenge of a new day. The idea that both John and I might have been laughing at the same thing at the same time…funny.
john candy's death still depresses me when i think about it. he's one of a very few celebrities whose passing affected me, and there's a good reason for that.
@mvandeven Same here.I was watching tv the day news of his death broke and saw an Entertainment Tonight teaser about an hour before the show started and immediately had tears come to my eyes. The thing that really gets me now is when my son(who adores him in every role he's seen him in)asks me about him.I get choked up every time.Amazing how someone you've never met and isn't family can have such an impact on ones life.
18 years today, RIP John.

I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure I cried when I'd heard he died... such a nice and straightforward man.
