Nadal's aggressive style of play is so demanding on his body and this is reflective of all his injuries. He may be Federer's counterpart but no one knows how long he can keep that style of play up. Roger on the other hand uses more of a finesse and variety play style which doesn't hurt his body, so Federer, could in effect, play for at least another 4-5 years maybe win another 6-7 slams.

agreed but i think 4 to 5 years is exaggerating. he definitely has a couple more years but if he continues to play for that long, his body will eventually tire. that's not to say he won't be good, i'm just saying that a new generation of players will come and dominate and federer's era will eventually become superseded with a new standard of play. he definitely has a couple more slams to smash out. bloody champion

Different style of game, different amount of time to mature. Roger has so many ways to hit the slice BH, umpteen different spins and speeds on the forehand, many slightly different serves, all those tools means more time to learn when/how to use them. Like learning to control an incredibly responsive race car.

Nadal's game is great, but it's based on simpler principles and less variation. Also Rafa was mature mentally at a very young age, but that's not as important as the different games.

my dad thinks the same.... but his always been like that he was never really like nadal who chase every ball. he no longer chases the ball he knows he cannot control. but one thing good is that he is a great defensive player and can turn defense into offense in juts a matter of 2-3 shots after he puts the defensive ball in to play again.hes a bit lazy mainly because he can afford to be lazy with his brilliant shot making he can get away with anything and produce winners u only couldve imagined.
