We use these bokkens for full on kenjutsu fencing in body armour at my dojo. They are excellent! I recoment them to anyone who wants to get on with real combat fighting instead of just kata and one step.

Haha, we tried one of those out in the dojo, just for giggles.

The only good thing I can say is that it DIDN'T break... although it had a few distinct, permanent curves it didn't come with.

Also, it bends like rubber. I'd pick up a broom stick to save my head from getting caved in before this particular "bokken".

It WAS an amusing day, though, so I suppose it wasn't a total loss :D

i have a few of these there very nice, but only problem is the vibrations when you hit two together are horrible, they hurt your hands at first, but then you get used to it. ive tried breaking it and even cutting it with my katana, its cut resistant and its pretty much unbreakable haha

i've seen these in person and they have a cheap feel to them and bend easy on contact but dont break... i would prefer an ironwood bokken... it could do way more damage than this...

Masahiro, I kind of agree with you, there, but at least the flexing means greater shock absorbtion so you don't get that tingling feeling you do with a regular bokken. As for a more preferrable wood, I'd take an Appalachian over Ironwood; it's much stronger, but I'm not going to pay $140+ for a bokken I won't use very often (for the time being, anyway).
