I cannot compare it with other bikes by riding it around the block, or taking what others say. In MY OPINION ONLY, is that as long as there is American's out of work, you will not see me on a KAW Honda etc. Do as you please. PS: I think the Victory Vision is one ugly mug.

The only Harley I like is the ones designed by Porsche, all the others are just too outdated technology wise as they keep using the same old engine and chassis as the ones from 1970 except they added fuel injection. No wonder foreign bikes like BMW and Honda are so much more reliable, faster, more economical and safer. The Victory used old technology as well but seem a bit more modern.
@Martian74 The thing that irritates me is the FACT that the Harley "IS" outdated, yes they made some changes in 2009 but I thing as the baby boomers retire they will still buy the Harley so Harley will have no reason to modernize. The Yamaha seems good but I'd rather not ride a Harley look alike. Victory doesnt have much dealer support. The only sensible way is Goldwing "w/there pathetic 2012 improvements" or BMW "which seems to sporty for 2 up long distance. I like Harley styling.
@Martian74 For a Full dresser to have no reverse is crazy, me + wife + gear is about 1000LBS. My 96 wing has reverse, this is dated tech.. Plus, I'm sick of the Harley crew driving around with a shit eating grin looking at all non Harley as shit. I've traveled 1800 miles with not even a burp on my wing, and yes I enjoyed the scenery. A bike is a bike, ride what you like but make sure its reliable as hell. You dont want to break down 1000 miles from home. Smiling while ridding is good too.
@Martian74 in the 1970's they used a shovel head engine... they broke down and leaked oil like a river... they have changed the engine quite a bit since then and it is now a much more efficient bike. Harley likes that their bikes are classic looking. if you need a modern cruiser there is always the V-Rod which is probably one of the fastest cruiser style bikes on the market
Indian's had more partners than Lindsey Lohan, and they haven't made a quality machine since, well since, Indian was really "Indian", and I'm not sure when the hell that was, certainly before my time, and I predate color TV, faxes, and microwave ovens.

There have been many attempts over the years to bring back Indian Motorcyles. Although the idea was noble, it just was not the same "Indian". Now, with Polaris getting involved, it will positively never be what it was. They bought the name, this will continue to be the only thing left that will resemble the true motorcycle. It may still look like an Indian . . . . . it ain't no Indian. Hasn't been since 1953, the year they went bust, when this all started . . . . the resurection attempts.

Victory is expected to start selling CBUs (completely Built Units) in India starting next year. Victory has not yet announced which models will be sold in India, or if any new models will be built with the India market specifically in mind.

There have been many attempts over the years to bring back Indian Motorcyles. Although the idea was noble, it just was not the same "Indian". Now, with Polaris getting involved, it will positively never be what it was. They bought the name, this will continue to be the only thing left that will resemble the true motorcycle. It may still look like an Indian . . . . . it ain't no Indian. Hasn't been since 1953, the year they went bust, when this all started . . . . the resurection attempts.

I was talking to the J&P folks at the Motorcycle show last year, they told me that thereare not enough aftermarket parts for Vics as of yet to justify their own catalog.
Like Sutherland says, we can be happy they are listing parts even if it's in Jap bike catalog.

THE USA,as victory is able to manufacture their bikes at a lesser cost than harley can,because of high union labor cost.

harley to get around indias high tarriffs ships the bikes over to their assembly plant they built in india,they send american kits and have this plant put them together.
for instance the bikes are shipped from the usa with the front end tires off and when they arrive in india they bolt these on,they do it this way to get around indias extremely high tarriffs, if victory does start selling bikes in india,they may do it the same way as harley,or they may just send completely assembled bikes-

Victory is expected to start selling CBUs (completely Built Units) in India starting next year. Victory has not yet announced which models will be sold in India, or if any new models will be built with the India market specifically in mind.
