  • I heard Merrill live in recital when he was nearly 60. Although past his prime, his voice was still rich and vibrant. He was performing in a concert hall where the acoustics weren't particularly kind to singers. No problem; Merrill's technique, even at 59, was such that his voice's sheer resonance shivered the timbers of his listeners:) --

  • I remember sitting on the floor at my sister and brother in laws and seeing this. Kids today are not exposed to this great entertaintment unless they see someone on Americas got Talent. Merrill was so great.
