  • hey I'm a student and life in a country where it is a custom to life off campus. I've got limited space so I'm considering to buy this bed. I only read about people buying this for there young children but is it a proper bed for daily use as an adult?

  • when it folds out it will fit 2 twin mattresses, which is actually equivalent to a KING size. it is VERY large once folded out. it's great for a guest room. it is actually quite surprising how large it is once folded out. after having owned it for 2 years, i can honestly say that i am quite happy with the purchase.

  • does this bed come out full size queen ?

  • I just assembled this bed this afternoon in 4 hours. The trick with the matrass is to buy two thinner ones. The bed is for my daughter and will be used 95% of the time for one person. I like that I can make a double bed in just a few seconds. On low carpet the additional bed slides out easily. So no complaints about this Hemnes bed. But beware, it comes in three boxes that weigh 100 kilo's together. Only one complaint about Ikea: they do not pay very much taxes over their profits......

  • We bought this stylish piece for our summer house 7 years ago. It took us a full day to put it together but it's very sturdy and is as solid now as it was then. We use this piece as a sofa in our sun room. We have not used the lower part to sleep. There is no room to store a mattress inside the bed for the trundle part. I am planning to buy an air mattress to have on hand for occasional guests who may need it. Hemnes is beautifully made; we have several pieces.

  • Could you tell me if it includes bedsteads and mattresses? I do think no I'm not sure. I have understood that to avoid that to happen you have to choose lower mattresses.

  • If I didn't have any furniture I think I'd buy hemnes. I think they are stylish

  • there's a trick. hire two large bodybuilder types, put on a weight belt and the three of you together MAY be able to slide out the bottom section! that's an exaggeration but it's damn tough to pull out if it's on carpet. i was a bit misled by this product and went out and bought 2 standard twin mattresses. they stack too high to use both. one of the mattresses stays in the attic unless we have a guest...at which point pull out the trundle and add the 2nd mattress.

  • I have this bed for my daughter but can't figure out how to pull the bottom section out to put the mattress on - is it hard - is there a trick. Does your child sleep on 2 mattresses? Help! GIgi

  • looks cute!

  • nice bed thank you
