I'm 28 years old and a lifetime fan of Bob. My grandmother who is 93 now always had the show on and we'd watch it together. This year I started painting for the first time in my life. I cant believe the results I'm getting. I can honestly say that I was personally taught by Bob Ross. I owe him all the credit and miss him very much. You were very lucky Dana to have been so close to him. Please post more home vids of him if you have them! its nice to see Bob again! Ill keep in touch Happy Painting
@DanaJester dana what the hell am I doing wrong!!! I paint the sky, and clean brush use white and want to make clouds only the blue mixes with the white!!!! I tried more white and still the same thing happens!!! Where is there a teacher up in the New Hampshire area?
This brings back a lot of memories. It's definitely good to see you're still around. I can remember you from back then, even if it's only vague these days. I was around ten when Bob Ross died, so it's been a while. Please do keep up the good work, and I hope to see more from you in the future. ... Ah, I almost forgot. You've got excellent taste in music, judging by what I hear playing in the background
First of all, very fun paintings to watch. I think a lot of the popularity of Bob's work was just watching it come to life before your eyes. Today's video world makes it so easy. I'm in the process of painting and video blogging my way through all 390 episodes of The Joy of Painting of DVD. Do you know which ones I'll see you in? I'm trying to go "in order" but I sometimes see things I want to try and don't know when they will come up! Check our my Videos and blog. Thanks Kay Zahn
I'm a long time fan of The Joy of Painting and this style of oil painting. Good to see you painting again Mr. Jester. Hope you come to Austin, TX someday.
@62aritch have you tried adding a thinner to the white? A this paint should stick to a thicker paint
