Avast urinates all over AVG any day. I'd rather bash myself repeatedly in the testicles than go back to using that rubbish program. Catching a deadly disease from a psychopathic stalker ex-girlfriend is preferable to AVG. Oh, and did I mention AVG sucks?
Don't pay for SUBSCRIPTIONS for Anti-Virus Software. Your wasting money.
Want a HD, STEP-BY-STEP install video for AVG 2011.
Come and visit my channel, rbanister100. Just go to the search bar on YouTube, and type in rbanister100. Then look for my video on installing AVG 2011. Simple enough. I think you will be glad you did.
I want Ya'll to know, AVG is good I've used it to keep my alien ware investment safe for 2 years. The key is to be sure you download it from the right Website, I use it on my old PC and all pc's I fix up. if you have any issue at all post on their FaceBook Page and they'll help you + you have the entire community
ID shield behavior blocker with AVG is a waste of time, Browsers dont need these useless apps that cause more problems than good and spy on all your internet usage,
AVG 1 of the worst on the market, full of problems and issues, My advice to anyone is stay well away from anything GRISOFT.COM especially AVG antivirus. EVERY ASPECT OF MY SYSTEM WAS HIJACKED BY AVG, when i unistalled this trash i was left with no internet connection as avg had hijacked this aswell. 4 hours later im back online but it wasnt worth the trouble downloading an antivirus that infected my pc in ways ive never seen. AVG IS ABSOLUTE JUNK A SCAM AND CON. be very careful of AVG
The Best one for windows is Kaspersky and Bitdfender is the strongest antivirus AVG is a lieng scammer that is so dumb it gets crack with a linense code
@TheBuckbull appreciate it..i got both..lol..i like how avast..the girls voice comes on and lets u kno..but avg scan is faster...i got some keys so i got avast till 2038,,,and avg till 2018..with malwarebytes and avanced system care pro..i had pc tools but it wasnt working on my windows 7 64 bit...but im glad cause all i've been getting is cookies
and thats it...I feel my computers on lockdown..aint shit getting threw...
Just curious, you have a notepad list of websites that contains all the zero-day threats you use to test the antivirus in a virtual machine (i assume). Where do you go to find that list? I type in stuff like "zero day threat list" and come up empty in google. Could you point me in the right direction? I would like to try out trial versions of AV as well like you to see which one works best. As always, keep on doing what you're doing. Great job again mate.
I set my aunt up with free AVG 2011 and I've been since thinking if Microsoft Security Essentials would have been a better way to go. This review helps show me that AVG is an effective and user-friendly antivirus so I think she will be satisfied with it.
@TheBuckbull Naa I don't have a keylogger well I don't think I do but i play a lot of MMO games and heeps of people get hacked from keyloggers and a lot of people say norton won't remove them.
It needs " to add something against zero day threats" when it just zapped ALL the zero days in this test? WTF? And it maybe a behavior blocker? Identity Protection is a behavior blocker, real time. All AVG releases are now in the cloud - also good against zero day as is LinkScanner (Website filter).
@redbad7 listen my opinion is avg still needs improvement and i did not know at that time that identity protection was considered a behavior blocker. in my mind identity protection in antiviruses are those useless anti phishing toolbars. yes avg has stepped it up but there are better free alternatives that i prefer.
@TheBuckbull Oh. OK. Sorry. My bad. I am not very smart. I thought all those samples blocked in this test were zero day threats. So AVG does need as you say in your exact words "to add something against zero day threats." Are you planning on a re-test any time soon against zero day threats? Thank you.
@redbad7 no these were zero day threats and i already said that avg has improved and i din't know identity protection was a behavior blocker. avg is a good choice for a free antivirus and i am not saying it did a bad job or anything like that. all i am trying to say is i think there are better options available then avg.
Regarding RAM, you really only need the main module and IDP. Most people use web mail, making the email module unnecessary. And Linkscanner duplicates what modern web browsers already do. With just the main module and IDP, it uses about 15-20 meg of ram on my PC. Pretty light, and also low with disk IO and CPU time.
@buckbull no problem man and thank you for making these reviews they are all awesome! You do a great job! keep up the good work! :) Could you review bitdefender 2011 please? Thanks! :)
Nice to see you again with another¨great review/test. I am not a AVG - man but anyway it seems Avg have made a solid Antivirus-solution. And to you credit, you do much better Reviews than languy99. Why do I say that, because I think that he preach to much about his new found religion Comodo. That you do not.
@SuperHusher thanks a lot man yea i personally never been a huge fan of avg but it has definitely improved. and yea i try to not be bias or talk about a particular product too much but comodo is one of the best products out there and i really like it as well
Identitiy protection is very impressive! It is good as ThreatFire and SONAR. Also i liked Go to File option because we can check the file on Virustotal before deleting.
It takes time to delete the detected files just like in MSE. They should improve it. AVG 2011 Free is very good, Avast is very good and the coming beta of MSE will be good. What do you think about comparision video of the three antiviruses ?
AVG does have a behavior blocker. It's identity protection is a behavior blocker. Just lettin you know man great review as always! Keep up the fantastic work :)
I am impressed by this new AVG Antivirus Free edition performance. It did a great job! You are right, they need to reduce RAM usage and also develop a behavior guard. Thanks a lot for your excellent review! All the best my friend!
@victorh2007 Your very welcome! if they could reduce ram usage and introduce a behavior blocker they would be one of the better antivirus software out there. But still for a free product its very good. Thanks for watching and all the best to you too!

get Avast 5 and Malwarebytes, both of these are trusted.
Defender Pro 15 - 1 is a rouge and avg sucks ass and won't let you remove it from your computer.
