it is just mindblowing, when you think of the amount of work that goes into making a pencilsharpener (i mean including having to design a whole factory and system), but to manufacture a plane, there are just sooo many components and so many factors, if you think of it too much, your brain starts bleeding on the inside!

There is a huge A380 sitting in Singapore with holes in its wing, destroyed by the Rolls-Royce engines so vaunted in the last video. Because of the way the wings are made, repairing it is going to be difficult or impossible. Qantas is sitting on a possible $300 million write-off because of one engine failure. This is a rah-rah promotional video and does not get at the facts of air travel. For 100 more passengers per flight, you buy quadruple the headaches of a 747 - and no cargo option.

@antimatterXXXIII Qantas had problems with RR engines on a 747 the other week. I think they're not doing maintenance properly.
