And about the language she sings in... songs can be interpreted how an artist decides to portray it. Music is an art.

Either way, the language DOESNT MATTER. Would you say the Catholic mass should be done the traditional way ( in latin), because that's the way things should be? it'd be ridiculous for obvious reasons...Everything people do has to have a meaning for them..so if another language is more meaningful to a person, let them use that language.

it's not the perfect dress to wear, there are definitely better choices when singing for the pope, but everything in perspective, it is not a bad dress, it IS tasteful. and if you are catholic and criticizing her, you should know anyway that even the rules outside of national basilicas say that appropriate attire only restricts spaghetti strap shirts and dresses. therefore her dress is fine.

That girl is probably the first white girl I've ever heard who has the pipes to do Aretha Franklin's music some justice. She'd do awesome with an AF tribute some time.

I heard her with Reba and my vision was that that sounded like a young Aretha. She's not just got the voice (lots of people have that) but she's got the power and delivery in that voice that produces the sort of drama that comes with many of those songs.

There is also the fact that she can convey powerful emotions with her voice and facial expressions while singing. And she has been improving in her performance over the years.
