Heres two things I remember about the dude 1. He's proof that that there is always somebody out there better. 2. Usually within 10 minutes of watching him skate I would be on my board. Dude was the first Jamie Thomas
Back then he just seemed like a dare devil, without the slickness of others, but looking back now, it's totally right that he is up there with the key guys, because no one else was doing what he did...and that's what it's all about. And he seems such a nice guy....however as I thought back then, it tuns out that Powell was evil...
Great Documentary and thanks for sharing. Started skating when I was 12 and stopped when I was 23,had a shop sponsor but thats as far as i got. Frankie was one of my favorites and I remember meeting him at a demo and him signing my head gasket which I then pinned to the wall in my room. Im 37 now and still keep a deck around the house for a occasional ride. I now have a 3yr old son and named him Frankie.
thank you for the videos im 33 now and i remember watching frankie hill videos and shut it off go be frankie hill skate fast and huge gaps was my favored unfortunatly i too blew my kne out at 16yo i still skated for a year after that with a blown out kne i would just ducktape it so it dont pop out till i just couldnt take it no more and slowly quit i still have dreams of skating its been like 15 years the other day got on a board poped out a 360filp and landed it lol
@rsxtypes420 right on brother thank u 4 he respect and props u rock. if u want a dvd copy hit me up. at elnato@gmail.com sorry about your knee that sucks .
Nice work. This is a story that needed to be told. Props to Frankie Hill for a damn good outlook on life considering all he had to endure with that knee injury.
Nate, it's your boy grim (Neal that interviewed you a few years ago). Man, amazing doc on someone who inspired me to push myself harder (after being blown away by his footy). He was a champ for kids like me, as I was little and skinny... as was he, yet he still threw down the biggest shit!
Great work, hope Frankie finds a comfortable spot and continues to roll. Peace Nate! Take care homie.
Watched all ten parts cuz Frankie Hill is a true legend and everything everyone said about him is A1 absolutely true!!! He really was the first one to go huge. The long hand rails really started with him doing em!
Nice job, Nate.....forget all this celebrity (or is it Celebraty?..haha) envy in the world...they need to give props to real heroes like Hill....u da man.
right after i had watched this awesome documentary i found the clip "Frankie Hill Going BIG in his First Demo in 20 years" that made me emotional man, hehe, if you see him tell him to remember what he said about just taking it easy from now on, i myself would have loved to be able to just ollie over something after having this "athlethes foot" for a couple months,, peace to both of you from sweden
fuck!!!!! this is like one of those good ass 80's movies you dont want to end!! damm! i was looking for a part 11 and 12! damm frankie God bless you brother!! you were a major part of my youth in 89-90!! skate or die dude!!! ( I know that was cheezy ) but you get the point!!!!
@xwabrx kit erickson was a revered pro skater who was on the original H-Street team ... he was a great all around skater for his time and he just had some unfortunate luck. consider the mathematics, so many pro skaters, so many years, there will be a fatal story or two
inspirational it takes a real man like frankie to realize he was blessed to have been sponsored by powell even though it was cut drasticly short, props to frankie my next ollies for you man
The most deserving and needed documentary yet!! Ultra respect!
