  • I don't think its owned by bnsf probly an independent company it says ohio under it

  • Even though it has the BNSF logo on the side of it, and next to the number it says AT&SF. But, who knows.

  • its a 40 to 50 ton crane built by Ohio crane its both crane and pile driver thats why theres two types of booms on the flat car also the crane can move on its own but for long distances they pop the gear out and move them at restricted speed on mainline runs

  • Alrighty, I did smoe reseach and got the same thing. Thanks.

  • Not a wrecking crane. The cars are used for moving the welded rail on/off the flatcars.

  • I'm not sure if your right on that one, I looked this up and it is supposed to be a wrecking crane.

  • Wrecking work is now contracted out to companies like Hucher and Coram. At one time the first part was an Ohio crane (I suppose in a way it still is). However the equipmwnt is now setup for movement of sections of CW rail.

  • Gottha, just looked it up. Yup, your right. Thanks for the correction.

  • That is a Pile Driving outfit... maintenance of way.

  • Alrighty.

  • That is a crane, for a bridge gang, used as a pile driver.

  • O.K., now I really don't know what it is. I have 3 people telling me what they think this is. I think yours is sounds better though, it does look like a pile driver.

  • Cool catch!

  • Thanks.

  • Welcome.

  • Nice catch of the wrecking crane. I also like how you were parked under the overpass. Nice catch of an ex-CSX unit, too.

  • Thanks, yes, a nice catch indeeded. I like that spot under the underpass too.
