@pinkiipiggy Westies generally have hair that grows right in front of their eyes. My westie has the constantly, and every once in awhile we have to clip it.

My westie is exactly the same! All she needs now is a Rolls Royce to match her swanky and well off persona! lol I think it's cute when the recognise things they love or like to have fun with, like when we say to our dog are you off to get the pigeons or the 'pidge pidges' she goes running off into the garden snorting and growling at the trees, same with cats, wheelie bins, postmen, strangers and I'm not kidding when I say this but old people aswell! Strange but I love her to pieces :) great vid!

Hi I'm going to be getting a westie soon, I'm a single mum with a little girl named lauren she is 2, could you please tell me your personal opinion if you think a male or female would be more suited to her family, ive been trying to do some research on google without much luck, so i thought i would come on youtube and ask a few people here, hope to hear from u soon =] louise.

From my personal experience i have a female westie and she is very friendly and quiet but also energetic. She has been great around kids that come over that are around the age of 3 I do not know much about any males but I am sure they are great as well, hope this helps

I am adopting a 17 (yes 17) yr old Westie called Zoe,

Any advice on what's it like to own one?

Any advice from owners in general.

She is also deaf and partially blind but she is one beautiful dog that looks like 3 not 17.

I used to have a 17 year old Westie. There is nothing more precious than a Westie in those years. Their personality evens out and mine became the perfect personality around that time. My main advice would be to watch and prevent cancer. Mine had cancer then. He lived years beyond what he should have with it by eating lots of tomatoes, mixed vegetables without corn, watermelon, chopped up carrots, salmon,...etc. I'd also say to watch the eyes. Corneal ulcers can be an issue.
