sometimes the lane that you merge from (the ramp) sort of has its own lane...like you just continue onto traffic....that is simpler i think...but like in your video the lane you merge from ends....what do you do if there is a lot of traffic in the rightmost lane you are trying to merge to and there are no gaps to merge into? and your lane is ending?
@sudheshnam - Every situation is unique so use your best judgment since you're the driver, not me. It would probably be safer to take the next exit. Sometimes people just won't let you in. =( If you know a particular exit always has traffic during rush hour, you can just take an earlier/later exit (maybe one which has less congestion) and take the city streets to your destination.
@DarkLightning909 - If you find my explanation confusing please refer to this web site for a better description of what I am trying to describe: linquist.net/motorsports/tech/mirrors/
Had a look at the links and still think it's a VERY stupid idea!
You don't have to see out your blind spot clearly, just enough of a glance to check IF there is a car there.
What about the side mirrors on a new car? You should know the ones- they have that little sticker saying "Warning, objects in mirror may be closer than they appear"
Your dodgy mirror adjustment will look like the car next to you is way back when it's in fact next to you.
WOW - your mirrors are NOT to see behind you? Well, then if you can't look to see whats coming up in the lane next to you that you want to merge into, you just might move over in front of another vehicle that is going 10 or 15 miles an hour faster & cause them to swerve or slam on their brakes & then there is a chain reaction accident because mirrors are NOT to see behind you.
@kctrknman - Every car has a "Blind Spot" your side mirrors are for this. There is a section of the car that one is not able to see from one's rear mirror nor side window, the side mirrors should be able to see this field of vision. Here is a link that better explains what I mean: wikihow.com/images/5/50/Rearviewfields-2.jpg. Sorry for not describing and clarifying better, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Who taught you to drive? Your mirrors ARE to see what's behind you!
Turn your fuckin' head and take a quick look over your shoulder to make sure nothing is in your 'blind spot'- only takes a quick glance...
So you go slow, cut someone off, then you go and flash your hazard lights?
Gee that wouldn't be confusing!?!?
You said: "You should not be cruising at the speed limit in the far left lane. "
WTF?
So your a slow retards who doesn't look, and causes a ton of near misses.
You dipshit!

Don't be lazy- look and don't flash any lights!
