  • @Velodynamic

alright thanks mate. have found a good site where everything is clear on that part. at dpreview.com you can see you can shoot up to 320 + images large fine... if you have a fast memory card. mark 2 can shoot untill card is full etc. great site for info about slrs etc. i have a sony nex 5n wich isnt as good as an slr. but it does the job and can shoot myself while biking. xd

    greets

  • great, now have fun deleting them

  • I never understood why the mirror has to bounce back and forth, why not just make the shutter open and close multiple times. I imagine they could get way more than 8fps then.

  • @dapoopta because a camera works like this, it opens its shutter so the sensor electronically copies the light in front off it, then the shutter closes making the image through the processor, if it were to be open for a while, the images would be all white because it lets to much light in, make sense?

  • @dapoopta but then you wont see what you are shooting :P

  • Imagine Brickfilming with that!

  • press 5 and hold ;)

  • imagine someone clicking like this with his finger :D

  • whats the nikon equivalent of this? and would the 7d work better?

  • @GMSamuelRhine d7000 and yes 7d is better

  • @soneeqboom oh yeah i hate the d7000 compared to this

  • @GMSamuelRhine D300s? Also 8fps i think

  • @sofarsogood9 7fps 8 with the battery grip

  • see*, lol..

  • Glad you are happy with static electricity on you sensor/mirror that dust can easily stick to them now..

  • @cdoamh The 7D has a special function in which it can vibrate the shutter at high frequencies to shake off the dust.

  • @dannyboi50ful1 I know that.. (I have Canon 60D)

but don't you know it just cleans in a very ineffective way.

the best way to clean your camera is to take a blower and take the dust out of the sensor...

  • @dannyboi50ful1

And the Nikon has the same

  • use class 8 or 10 memory cards they're faster read, wright spead

  • Can someone explain to me? In this and other videos, I see the real 8 fps, but my 7D shooting like 5 or 6 fps. Long exp. noise reduction - disabled, High Iso speed noise reducting - disabled, highlight tone priority -also disabled. I've even restored camera settings, but nothing changed.

    What I doing wrong?

  • @Nelayme

What memory card are you using? It shouldnt make much difference but are you using the Sandisk Extreme 3? Thats the card the company recommend.

  • @rorrt Actually, it's not a memory card fault. I've tried to shoot without a card, but nothing has changed. So I decided to record video while I was making shooting. I made a video a little bit slower and I counted how many shots Canon makes. Ant it was 8 frames per second (7.5fps for truth). For comparison, in other videos on youtube, I counted even 9fps.

But custumer service said, that there is nothing to worry about.

  • @Nelayme

The 7D needs lots of light to fire at 8fps. Try holding your camera towards a bright light source and you'll ses that you truly have 8fps

  • Nikon sounds better :)

  • 8 frames per second? Big deal, my video camera can do 25 frames and more(on slow motion) p/second

  • @DaMatta11

lol. the 7D can make 1080P at 50fps. so WHAT?

  • @DaMatta11 not at 18mP

  • @DaMatta11 The 7d will do 60 with video....

  • @DaMatta11 the 7d rocks....why r u comparing your "video" camera to the frame rate of the SLR camera? Haven't you ever heard of "apples to apples"?

Anyway, your 25 frames ps SUCKS compared to my EX-F1...try 1200FPS!!!

  • @DaMatta11

As others have said, your ignorant.

  • its weird that although the 1D Mark II and N are only 8.5 fps, its sounds and looks much quicker, although canon's 1D Mark III and IV are machine guns so you can shoot the person and if they are still alive, hit them with the DSLR. that isn't good though

  • ROTFLMBO

That has got to be one of the biggest selling points of the 7D...got my wood up.

  • this camera is practically made for wildlife (1.6x crop really helps) and sports (8fps and super fast focus)

a 70-200 f/2.8 or f/4L lens would make it a force to be reckoned with

  • does anyone know how to get this 8 fps?!! im so confused and i would LOVE some help!

  • @aCTlvlSTs set the drive mode to continuous burst 8fps??

  • @JohnHFilms nahh, i got it.. i had to change the mode to manual and change a few settings in there, such as: shutter speed, iso, and the aperture i think, if i can remember correctly

  • @aCTlvlSTs the little "Q" button at the top left of the camera. Go over to where you can set it, looks like a rectangle. then click, and set to "high speed continuous"... there you have it. it took me like 15 minutes to figure out that it wasnt on that setting, and i felt extremely dumb.

  • that was quick

  • thanks for the feedback.. i guess i'll have to check into the manual settings then.. it shouldn't be a big deal.. so is the IS useful if i only shoot sports?? that's all i plan to shoot with the 70-200..

  • would this make a good choice for a sports shooter?? and if so, what lense would go good with it??

  • @broncos It works really well as a sports camera :) if you are looking for a good lense it really depends how much you want to spend. often the real ''sport'' lenses are more expensive then the camera body itself.

  • @EdoSens yeah, i was lookin' at the 100-400 f4.5-5.6 zoom lens and it was pretty pricey.. i'll check out the 70-200 f2.8 without the IS.. i never use the IS anyway.. i don't remember seein' the sports mode on this camera.. how would i go about shootin' sports with the 7d??

  • @broncos Personally I never really use dedicated modes like 'sports' I prefer using manual settings, or putting the camera in Shutter priority (for sports) to get the best results. With some practice, i really think that might give the best results.

as for a good sports lens, the 70-200mm is a fantastic lens but 200mm might not be enough if you want to take a picture of someone at the other side of a big field. And having IS might be really helpful. I can't do without IS on a real zoom lens.

  • @EdoSens well you can use some teleconverters in addition to the 70-200. the only thing is you end up slowing down about a stop or two which sucks if you have really low light...

  • @NerdForMIT good point, if you take a 2x teleconverter on a 70-200 with 2.8 you can change it into a 140-400 5.6 lens. For sports purposes that might be enough seeing most sport events are well lit.

  • @EdoSens no it's more then enough, and it's not 140-400 it's a tiny bit more because you forgetting the 1.6x crop factor that is on this 7D.

  • @broncos id say this is a perfect camera for sports! also, a decent lens for shooting sports would most likely be the 70-200mm IS, which costs an average of about $1200... and if im wrong on anything some please correct me :)

  • @aCTlvlSTs thanks.. i plan on gettin' one in the near future..

  • I'm selling mine if anyone wants to buy it, email me

  • @dwayneb9584

    How old is ur canon?

and how much do you expect?

  • @MegaMaaaxxx 6months old. Asking $1400

  • This is like camera porn.... Damnnnn someone put a lens back on that thing!

  • 18 megapixels x 8 frames per second = 144 megapixels per second! Wow!

  • Comment removed

  • that didn't sound anything like a 7D shutter..

  • @lukewarm711 its cuz there was no lens attached

  • Canon EOS 7D Digital

  • How much does it cost?

  • I have the same camera and I love it.

  • Dude you idiot...I bet you had fun with the dust on the sensor after that spiel.

  • @relent107luke The 7D auto cleans the sensor when you turn it on and off

  • I have this camera and it is awesome

  • was that even a second?

  • 7d video

  • nice video- check mine out.this was shot on a & 7d too.

    its called Reach d' sky

  • Oh, so that's what that noise is coming out of my brother's room at night.. explains a lot

  • check out a video i shot on 7d first time using the camera and first video i ever shot...Ls voicmail

  • Torn Between Getting this and a 1D mark III I love the low light on this camera, but i am in love with the 1D series quality

  • OMG I'm going to get this camera

  • Fap fap fap fap fap fap fap... LOL

  • @LivingForLOL lullllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

  • @LivingForLOL Fap xP

  • @LivingForLOL THESE ARE ONLY 7 FAPS :)

  • @dibijacos check out a video i shot on 7d first time using the camera and first video i ever shot...Ls voicmail

  • @LivingForLOL

    Quickest Wank in history

  • @LivingForLOL that's only 7 faps LOL

  • @LivingForLOL lololol

  • Yeah suck up that dust!!!

  • i'm gonna upgrade my 50D to 7D soon enough :)

  • WOWW !!

  • Yeah the Canon 7d is great... We shot our Web Series with it...

  • lol good HD camecorder 4000$ 35 mm adapter with rods and everything = 4000$ total = 8000$ (and you still have poor low light performances) Canon 7D + a decent lens = 3000$ and you have an amazing Hybrid Camera so WTF are you talking about ?

  • I was about to write that and then saw you already did lol

  • @PhotoshopStars LOL, i kinda like your sarcasim

  • @PhotoshopStars good consumer HD camcorder that is, those were always for suckers

  • @PhotoshopStars Why not 5D MK II? Only down side to that camera is low FPS.

  • @NinjaDKDavid Not only FPS,but the AF system is not as good as the 7D's.And...on 7D you can use all types of lenses, including AF-S.

  • @bellci Yes, but it also lacking a full frame crop. I'm using a 5D MK II, but I would get the 7D if it was full frame. There's been a rumor that a 5D MK III is coming out next year. What do you think of the 60D that is coming out?

  • @NinjaDKDavid The 60D is very nice,it's a body between 50D and 7D,but closer to 7D.The rotating LCD screen is fantastic,and the 1040k resolution too,altough I think that 920k pixels from my 7D are enough for a 3" screen.

  • @bellci Too bad it doesn't have the magnesium alloy body. :(

  • @NinjaDKDavid

The 7D does have the magnesium alloy body.

  • @PhotoshopStars yeah except you can film for longer than 12min at a time with them...

  • @PhotoshopStars WTF are YOU talking about? HF S200 = $1500, 35mm Adapter = $1000 $2500 total

  • @PhotoshopStars u know something about ccd vs cmos in video mode?

  • Comment removed

  • In your strange condescending way you're absolutely right....

  • AMMMMMMAZING !

  • It's a cracking camera. IQ is about equal to the 5DmkI but the 5DmkII still trumps it.

  • Don't forget the firmware update to correct the problems that have already been reported for this model.

  • why did u have to ruin my dreams of this camera with this important info?

    Why famousPhotog? Why???

  • Comment removed

  • mad you could capture anything with that shutter speed! but is the quality still as good? amd is there a nikon that has as fast a shutter speed as the canon 7d?

  • Each photo is the same quality and everything, in order to get this amount of frames per second the shutter speed for each photo would also have to be quite fast.

  • the 7d looks like a great camera.

  • Me too !! :) 15th Nov.. I am like a little kid waiting for christmas

  • ima get one...NOW!!!

  • holy shit thats fast!!!

  • i'll have it soon !! haha

  • Amazing Camrea! Shoots so so clean!

  • wooooo love this cam

  • oh lord, please send me down $1,800

  • LOL :P

  • I love this camera, I am just having trouble with the HD video it is skiping when it is playing on the comp, anyone know any good video editing software for the HD vids this camera can take?

  • so nothing negative about the camera? and what lens are you using/recommend?

  • What is the speed of your memory card? That might be the issue. Check the manual to see what is suggested.

  • It doesn't matter, the camera will shoot until the buffer is full...

  • check your codecs perhaps?

  • I wouldn't cycle the shutter too often without the lens... It would suck if your new 7D was full of dust...and the sensor cleaning system isn't made for cleaning dust bunnies.. :)

  • 8fps 6fps not that important....durability is much more important...i've seen over hundred 40Ds died of shutter problems under 20k actuations....

  • this is nice a camera

  • It's available in stores now. I just got mine a few days ago.

  • UK price is an absolute rip off

£1699 Warehouse Express and everywhere else.

$1699 B&H in the US, that's £1071, not even close.

  • Any camera that records more than 5mins of HD video get a LOT more tariffs in Europe. Which is why the Nikon's don't make their HD vid shots go over 5mins. Which isn't a big deal, a DSLR is not a replacement of video camera.

  • might as well get it shipped from the US, it will cost a damn site less

  • I only have a 450D ... I feel inadequate U_U

  • I have a 450D too ... This is gonna be my next camera :)

  • This was obviously directly aimed at the D300s and is a copletely different camera then the 5D MKII. The lareger sensor on the MKII is better for landscapes and wide angle work whereas this is more of a sports and action shooter. I have the MKII and will probably grab this as well for those reasons.

  • So you will buy only 7d to have 2x faster shooting?

    Thats weird.

5d mark2 is way better than this, except those fps.

  • No, to have the advantage of the faster shooting, better weather sealing, crop factor with the APC sized sensor, improved AF System....ect. Like I said, two different cameras for different needs.

  • 5d mk2 is a nice camera, but it's completely different, and falls into different price range. first, it's full frame. sometimes it's good, sometimes not. second, autofocus is better on 7D. third, more lenses, some of them are cheap, some are really good. ef-s lenses tend to be smaller and lighter. flash. fps. more video options. the build quality looks to be the same.

  • I agree with you justentime. 7D and 5d2are 2 absolutely different systems. And I think Canon made these to suit specific needs of the user. I think 1st time buyers would have a hard time deciding b/c of price diff and what it would be used for. I've done weddings and events so I need quick response on focus. I shoot with 2 Mark3's and I think the 7D would be a perfect match. Just keep in mind the "limits" of the 7D where it gets noisey. If situation calls for higher ISO, use other cam(s) :)

  • It looks and sounds pretty good

  • I wonder if they will ship as soon as at the end of Sept, 2009

  • Cant wait untill 1D Mark IV comes out or the price of the Mark III that drops down to like $2000 (then its affordable)

  • That'll be awhile though.

  • Pre-Ordered mine today! W00t!!

  • As a member of the working press, this is exactly the camera many, many of us will by buying very soon. It might not be the 'perfect' camera for some of you, but it is a very good camera for the rest of us who actually make our living off of our gear.

  • Unfortunately it's not full frame :(

  • what do you mean by full frame?

  • Learn to google you douchebag whore.

  • ha, damn straight, how does everyone else find out...

  • full frame means the senor is the same size as FILM, what most photographers are used to. However most cameras, including the one in the video above is NOT full frame. It is smaller than film (24x36mm, but called 35mm), most of the time they are around 27mm x ??mm. This means that you have less control over background blur (the signature of SLR photography) and all your lenses are pushed forward 50-60%. Bad for wide angles.

  • Comment removed

  • 1.6 crop factor on a 21mp = 13mp, so.. yes

  • I own the 5D Mark II and if the 7D would have been full frame, that would be upsetting. The 8fps is great, but a little disappointing to me at 3.9. :\

  • I also own a 5D Mk II and I use it often. Like the camera a lot, also liked it's ability to shoot video clips. What is lacking for me is the fps in burst. Everything's good except it is not fast enough for me in certain situations, such as shooting motorsport. Seems like 7D is going to be an affordable solution for my problem, As it has a smaller sensor, my zoom lens will get a boost of their distances.

  • NOW is the time to score a 40D or 50D on the used market ;)

  • Crop camera is a bummer and I'm still trying to find out how big the buffer is. 8 fps does no good without a big enough buffer to hold a few seconds of it...

  • The buffer is large enough to about a hundred jpegs or a 2 second burst (15 shots) of RAW images.

The 1D Mark III buffer is ~50 jpegs or about a 3 second burst (30 shots) of RAW images.

  • I forgot to mention: the 1D Mark III is also $3000 more than the 7D.

  • Actually it's come down a lot in price. And there is a new coming in November, so by then, the 1D III will be down to about $2000.

  • THANK YOU for this reply!

  • The buffer is actually good since it has dual digic 4 processors. it can shoot raw to a UDMA card up to 14 at 8fps, jpeg fine up to 114

  • holy bajeebus, totally reconsidering getting the t1i now.

  • I already broke up with my 40D. Hi! 7D.

  • can't wait to buy one :D

  • Now that's really really impressive!! Can't wait to buy one :D

  • Comment removed

  • it sounds like my 1d mark 3, canon kick ass man!

  • Is this 7D Full Frame or Crop?

  • 1.3 crop

  • APS-C = 1.6 crop

  • Unfortunately is a Crop Camera.

  • waw
