  • im pretty sure that news paper is a fire hazzard

  • @AGreedyTree Indeed it is as is the product it's made from: WOOD. There's all sorts of wood in most homes.

  • A friend of mine had to replace part of her flooring due to water damage; when she pulled it up she found parts of a 1950 newspaper underneath. So when we fixed the damage, we put a current newspaper in its place, wrapped in plastic.

  • I buried 2 timecapsules in my garden 2 weeks ago. I opened my other one 5 days ago after 5 years underneith the ground. The other one is still buried for 10 years.

  • i found an '87 pepsi can under my house

  • man in 50 years a sofa will be 5 grand..this guy doesn't have much hope for the us dollar

  • It'll probably be more now that the stimulus package has diluted the value of the dollar!

  • On one of the jobs I did, I found a half-rotten carcass of a cat and a possum. down in a basement. I don't know how they got there because all the vents were tightly guarded. It was putrid I tell ya. I almost hurled my breakfast that day.

I guess animals aren't good choices for keeping in the time capsule.

  • That is correct. No animals in time capsules unless they are properly mummified and treated with the utmost respect.

  • Not even if you hide stuff inside it? :(

  • Man this is so cool. I have found old pepsi cans, old newspapers, and old beer cans. I was working on a historic house in Durham NC and we found some really old newspapers in 19th century home. I found and old chisel one time which was really cool! I even like looking at the old nails and stuff.

  • I did just that when 911 happened I put plastic around a newspaper and hid it up in the truss's of a house I was framing,it was a Wichita EXTRA

  • lol This is cool! I'll do that one day!

  • lame >_>

  • My guess is you have never been lucky enough to find some loot in an old home. If you do, you will thank the person who left it for you to discover.

  • What a great idea!!!

  • Very cool. My dad was working on his parent's home once and came across a newspaper being used to fill a gap in the wall. It turned out to be the sports page from the Dempsey-Tunney fight in 1927!
