Where should I put my four egg cases? I want to be able to keep two nymphs as pets. Also I saw you said that you think meal worms would be fine for someone else's "baby mantis" do you think they will be fine for nymphs?
I have a question: Does Praying Mantesis bite or claw you when you pick it up? I'm going to buy one and i wanna know. Will it be hand-tame as adult if you carry it as baby?
@Melobione1 I caught about 12 wild ones. They're extremely docile. At worst, you'll get a minor pinch. I've never seen them bite anything, unless they were going to eat it. They're pretty hand tame no matter when you find one. Once and while they'll fly off to random places, but they won't struggle or constantly "flee" from you.
I have a baby mantis that will not eat, he is about 1.5cm long, and Ive given it an ant, small little flies about the size of its head and a moth that is about the same length as the mantis. But he just walks over then and past them without eating or attacking them. What else can I feed it that is so small?
my mantis is the same size and he isnt eating the ants i gave him... is that stupid of me or will he get to it... its been 2 days that i have had him and havent eaten anything? please help anyone my baby needs ur help!
I'm leaving the house for a week, and petco was out of fruitflies, so I bought some small mealworms instead, and just left 5 of them in the cage with the baby mantis, do you think those will work? My chinese mantis is like... L2 I believe, maybe L3.
@californiagirl44644 : you need to put them in something to where they wont be able to get out. we had them in a tank with a reptile lid, and some of them got out. i would suggest putting cloth or something over the top of a tank. they eat wingless fruitflies
Haha yeah I realised my camera had decent macro video so I started videoing my baby mantids too :D

Wow! That thing's barely the size of half your finger? And these things eventually get to be like half a foot or 3/4th a foot long, right?

@SirSmokeyYourPot I heard ants, spiders, lady bugs, and some other bugs build up toxins or something in a mantids body.

TaiLNeT 3 years ago
its where you can shoot closer with a camera than you normally can without it being too blurry.
thats why the background is so out of focus
