  • HA-HA....fucking Lurch man....(LOL-LOL)...sorry, this just cracked(still is) me up...never heard him on record. I wonder why....."Follow me, it's a brand new bag". "Don't just stand there...Lurch"! (LOL) Man....I actually favorited it by accident, trying to stop the vid & hear what he said! I'll stop babbling about it now, a y-tube 1st for me hearing the Big Cat that used to scare the shit out of me as a kid "singing".

  • At :52 he says BLOW ME. hahaha

  • @MrPoolove - no, he said "follow me", which also can be seen in the music video. ;)

  • @HuntressJohanna I know, it was a joke, johanna

  • @MrPoolove - okay, alrighty then..... :)

  • and who could do without some tunes from Lurch

  • So how many Grammys did this nifty number win ???

  • Not people know that in the Six Million Dollar Man Series, Ted Cassidy was the Sasquatch , in one or two of the episodes

  • Such a great man with such a great heart.. literally and metaphorically. I have seen every single episode of the 1963-1964 Addams Family. Unfortunately, this type of people do not live too much... that is the price they price for being such awesome human beings.

  • Lurch had the best frustrated sigh on TV. Only Kif from Futurama comes close.

  • This is really funny!

  • Ted Cassidy was so cool! He got type-cast , but could you see him in other roles outside of 007 films? I remember seeing him in interviews and he really seemed like a nice guy, without the bitterness of a type cast actor. It's a shame he passed so soon.

  • @stratocat9999 Where/when have you seen him in interviews? Can you find them on the internet?

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 That was a long time ago. I remember seeing him on the Tonight show back when the Addams Family was at it's peak, and on a few afternoon chat shows back in the late 60's. I doubt there are any surviving tapes of those interviews. I recently found a copy of Eegah (i think that's the spelling). It was a low budget ( and really cheesy) horror film where he played a resurrected cave man terrorizing a bunch of teenagers. It's a hoot!

  • @stratocat9999 That was Richard Kiel, not Ted Cassidy.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Oops! Was it? I hadn't rolled through the credits.

  • Ted Cassidy would have made a great Solomon Grundy.

  • @bertmustin He did voice Black Manta on "Challenge of the Superfriends"...

  • @fivebearrugs I read Ted Cassidy also did the voice for Frankeinstein Jr. and the Thing on Fantastic Four cartoon, he also made appears on I dream of Jeannie, Star Trek and Lost in Space and did narration for opening scene of The Incredible Hulk tv show.

  • lmao @ uTubeNoTube i was jus about to say that.

  • Am I the only one who thinks "golden throats" sounds dirty?

  • è uguale ad un amico mio......

  • Very funny!!

  • There aren't character actors like this anymore because movies & TV

shows lack imagination & personality. The last real "characters" were

    John Candy & "Ernest".

  • @4freespeech

I disagree. Im fond of Dan Roebuck. He's one of those guys thats "in everything"

  • will anyone EVER say "You Rang?" like Ted Cassidy again. If I butlered ,I'd damn sure practice it...

  • He was also the voice of G-d in The Ten Commandments.

  • @Bogframe

It was Charlton Heston as Moses who also did the voice of God (uncredited).

  • Judging by his voice, he probably had a Pringles Can between his legs.

  • Kinda wonder if Lurch could've had his own series.

This would've definitely been the theme song. :)

  • this is really wierd...... my eyes are on fire

  • Ted Cassidy also provided growls for "The Incredible Hulk" during the first two years of the show.

  • im definitely liking the video!!!!

  • Classic

  • Lurch Rocks!!!

  • I wrote this for a Leonard Nimoy youtube song. In the 60s and 70s before VCRs/DVDs and before syndication took off if you were a fan of an actor the only media available was the audio record. So in this era you had all sorts of TV stars do quickie albums designed to sell to fans. Telly Savalas from Kojack also put out an album of songs. I am too young to remember that era but I am sure someone reading this can chime in on this subject. That is why you see bad records by actors from that period.

  • I'm willing to bet that Ted Cassidy would be able to beat the shit out of David Cassidy in a boxing match.

  • Ted Cassidy could have been a great bass singer! (:

  • ROTFLMAO!!!

  • For all the ladies, crank the bass up all the way and sit on the speaker. That's the best way to do the Lurch.

  • I have this 45. The flip side is this reall stupid talking tear jerker story. I can't remember title but it seems to be way out of place on this disk.

  • Great track...perfect for the Carolina Shag...

  • haha my teacher looks exactly like lurch!

  • I'm crying from laughing....can't.. speak...!

  • remember they played this at yate allnighter at a snoop at the pop records being played at the time in '78 !

  • Love this song, love the Addams Family, love Lurch!

  • I laughed so hard I cried!!

  • Sounds like someone with a bad case of indigestion.

  • I want this... I want this right now.

Hahaha at 0:53 he sounds like he says Blow Me.

  • You're absolutely right.

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

    I love you

  • He said follow me, his catch frase from the show

  • @wurly164 that song is awesome, i like that

  • @burlone718 Or "ball me."

  • @burlone718 "FOLLOW ME" IS IT...LOL

  • @burlone718 it sounded to me like "Ball me".

  • @burlone718 just reading this comment made me lmao!!!

  • @burlone718 It does LOL but he says follow me, if you listen closely. Another case of misunderstood lyrics LOL

  • AWESOME!!

  • Love Lurch... But isn't this Golden Throats a little porn? Sure sounds like a really bizarre porn movie name.

  • When I was a kid of about 3 or 4 years old, I was afraid of Lurch when he appeared.

  • LMAO...oh man! This is hilarious

  • I think it would be totally awesome if someone released a tribute album for this song filled with different versions of this song. A variation of heavy metal covers on this song would rock! hahahahha

  • Blossom Rock (nee MacDonald) is the sister of movie soprano Jeanette Anna MacDonald.

  • Pop quiz--Name Blossom Rock's celebrated singing sister.

  • Jeanette MacDonald?

  • That's it.

  • LOL

  • yooooooooouuu rraaaaaaaaannggg. i love it.

  • Ted Cassidy was cool, so saddening he passed away while in his 40s. If I remember correctly he died on the operating table while undergoing open heart surgery. God rest your soul Mr. C.

  • There used to be a video here on youtube of Ted performing this on, I believe, Shindig. Ted showed us he had some smooth moves on the dance floor as well. It seems to have disappeared.

  • Aye, I've seen that clip aswell, but I can't find it anymore either. It looked really awesome. :(

  • Groovycool! This is just too far out! I've always been an Addams Family fan (of the original tv show-not the movies), but never heard this before. Message to the fans of the original tv Addams Family : Keep on "Lurchin'!"

  • I just blew out my woofers!

  • Ted, your the man! The Herman Munster of The Addams Family. Did you guys know he also was in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I seen it, and I was like, "WHAT?!!!" Weird to see em in another role.

  • So sad. Lurch started hang around with hippies, got into LSD, and ended up joining the Manson family after this.

  • @themustardrebellion Now wait just a minute! You're muddying Lurch's (Ted Cassidy) pretty badly here. I actually did a term paper on the Manson Family back in the day, and read Vincent Bugliosi's book on the Family. He was the L.A. county district attorney that spearheaded the conviction of Manson and his gang. Not ONCE did the good name of Cassidy ever come up. What are you basing your statement on?

  • @naderchaser some people got involved with the manson family innocently....like Dennis Wilson (famed drummer of the Beach Boys). He had no idea what they were all about.....all dennis wilson knew was that there were alot of easy chicks and drugs /liquor etc,,,,,,,,but he eventually became so afraid of them he would not go back to his own home because they virtually moved in and took it over.

  • @inkey2 You're right about Dennis Wilson. In '73 at a concert in Lincoln, Nebr. (Beach Boys AND Joe Walsh w / Barnstorm) Dennis got soooo f--'d up, then stood into the mike and shouted some un-understandable crap about Charlie Manson..it was so sad to see him like that. The Beach Boy's own bouncers had to get him off the stage. Then he ran out again...and had to be carted off again. "ANY Nebr. girls wanna F--K me tonite?? He said. "Go to Holiday Inn room ---, I'll wait for ya" , etc. etc. SAD.

  • @naderchaser Actually it's pretty fascinating how big a circle the whole manson thing engulfed....dennis wilson, Doris Day's son Terry melcher (the record producer), Roman polanski, Sharon Tate....etc, etc. To me a tragic "side aspect" to it is how manson manipulated all these vulnerable young girls to do his bidding and then they spent a lifetime in prison (literally a lifetime....non of this parolled in 20 years stuff)......just a shame

  • I'd heard about this record, and hadn't head it before until finding it here on YouTube. It actually has a pretty cool groove (would love to know the group that's doing the singing.)

  • @57Will Yeah Will.....funny you should mention that. I too thought that the groove was pretty damn good. I wondered if it were some group like the Marvelettes, etc. But probably was just a handful of studio musician / backup singers. I wonder how one would find out just who was behind that tune?

  • "myyyy Pleaaaaasure!"

  • What the HELL?! Oh God I can't breathe, laughing so hard!

  • brilliant!

  • cool!

  • si puo trovare in italia? è fantastico!!

  • Far out!
