little bastard(sachin tendulkar) is still playing even he is not in good form,he wants to play 2015 world cup, he is burden on the team, once again he wants to play till 2015 to hold most world cups played by any cricketer, this shows how selfish he is, he wants to make personal record, but he does not his current form is burden on his national side, sachin learn something from ponting, ponting retires now bcoz of his current form, this is difference between lovely ponting and selfish midget
after seeing sachin tendulkar fail in big macthes, big tournament finals, big finals as 2003 and 2011. i must say that sachin tendulkar is not a master blaster, actually he is a little bastard
As an Indian, I will still shout from the rooftops that Saqlain was the greatest bowler I've ever seen. Far better than Warne or Murali when he was at his best. It was a real shame that he lost his way, playing so much county cricket and becoming so inconsistent by the time Sehwag bashed him to a pulp
@shutuprafa -that's the problem with us indians we mistake nouse for truth, Saqlain was a great one day bowler and good in test, Better than Warne & Murali-no way
@TheMaverickanupam nouse? Saqlain wasn't at his best for a long period of time, but when he was, he was virtually unplayable. Most successful finger spinner in Australia by a longshot. There's a reason Indian batsmen struggled against Saqlain but had no trouble against Warne or Murali. Saqlain could beat you with turn, bounce, drift, or pace. He became such an inconsistent mess soonafter
@shutuprafa - Can u refer any test match where he was "virtually unplayable"?. There are umpteen videos available for Murali & Warne where they have been difficult to cope with
@TheMaverickanupam Two of his best matches were in Chennai and Hobart. It's never easy to make Azhar, Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, etc look foolish against spin (see Warne or Murali's stats) and it certainly is tough for a finger spinner to succeed in Australia (check Murali's stats in Australia).
@shutuprafa -I don't think 2 matches make him better than murali & warne. I personally thikn Warne was much better than me u can disagree but 2 say Saqlain was better basis those 2 inns u mentioned hardly proves ur case
@TheMaverickanupam I never said he had better careers than Warne or Murali. Read what I wrote more carefully: when he was AT HIS BEST. Saqlain was at his best from 97-00. Warne and Murali are great, but they both struggled against India, and finger spinners especially struggle in Australia. Same way, Shoaib at his best was the greatest pace bowler I've seen, but he also had such an inconsistent career that I wouldn't say he's the best pace bowler ever by a longshot.
@shutuprafa -So his best has to be compared to Warne's and Murali's best & they were always better, and how is shoaib's bowling related to saqlain being a better spinner. I don't see a corelation
@TheMaverickanupam clearly the Shoaib analogy went over your head. The greatest pace bowling I've seen has been a few of Shoaib's spells. Does that make Shoaib the greatest pacer of his time? NO! A few spells doesn't make you the greatest, and neither does 3-4 years of international cricket. Shoaib & Saqlain won't go down as the greatest of their time because they were unable to sustain their greatness. Some of the things Saqlain achieved in 3-4 great years, Warne and Murali never did.
@shutuprafa - U keep on moving in circles without coming to the moot point. In which spell of his in test cricket did he surpass Murali & Warne. I am mean when did he bowl spitting cobras and unplayable deliveries.Do not launch into lenghty expositions just quote the spells where he was better than W&M in 3-4 yrs you are referring to in test cricket. You keep on mentioning spells-Just quote the test match and the particular spell(s)
@TheMaverickanupam His greatest spells weren't necessarily spitting cobras. His genius was in delivering the right variation at the right time in the right spot to a top player of spin. Embarrassing Ian Bell isn't the same thing as embarrassing Azhar.
