    good luck & enjoy them...

  • This is a racist commentator, his comments are beyond cynical they are outright disgusting!

  • lol....women of good size....looks like in all that has changed, atleast our women are still the same!!! still fattys.

  • westvilla is right, i'm white & you can call me white, we are what we are, be proud colour is only skin deep. Anyway these were rich white folk, i grew up like most other brits in the 50's Daddy left, life poor, short of food & deprived. At this time Britain had a ruling class the rest of folks had very little. Also, i work in Nassau & i sure my boss wouldn't bring me from London if he could get my skills right here so GET YOURSELF A PROFESSION OR A TRADE an' STOP COMPLAININ'. Good luck.

  • @wA7racer even tho my color is only skin-deep i'm DAMN PROUD to be black, ur comment is a motivation for other Bahamians Black or White...hopefully they will take the good advice so you can carry your proud to be white, (even tho its only skin deep) ass back to London...thanks for your skills tho, hope you don't view this as a complaint.

  • @honeydewbahamas That's fine & i hope you are motivated. Actually, i really like being here, i like Bahamians and i feel quite at home here so i'm staying put, so why don't i stay here & you go to London? They say that travel broadens the mind and i do think that a lot of Bahamians are inward-looking and like to live in their 'shell-like' world. The Brit's were the same in the 50/60's & some gave the Caribbean pps a hard time. Thankfully that has changed because we can afford to travel the world

  • This is a good clip. A historical clip. Dont be so touchy about the descriptive words used. "Black" etc.. What are they suppose to be called? Really, get over it.

People call me "white". So what...

  • Thanx uploader for this great video. This shows how we were back in the day, and also how they thought of our people, with comments like " native black boys" at 0:47 and "women of good size" at 1:32. Over all a good and informative clip

  • Thanx uploader for this clip

  • Though this video was very informative , it gives a brief look how life was back then, it also shows how we were thought of ,according to the narrator , with comments like, black boys diving for coins" and "women of good size"

  • WTF bey women of good size?

  • @Handlez362 - lol he mean to say "Bahama mamas"

  • @hiu1787 lol I hope das what he meant 2 say

  • @Handlez362 fat

  • @Handlez362 THEY LOOK CHATTY TO, AINT NUTHIN CHANGE

  • @Handlez362 hahahah thats funny

  • Thanks for posting this great old travel film. Was this transfered from 16mm film? Looking forward to seeing more of Travel Film Archives.

  • Does anyone know where that footage of Sir Lynden Pindling on a News Channel is. I think it was CNN and they were talking about A Nation for Sale.

  • loved it!! This was very interesting. My parents speak of Old Nassau all the time. Good to see it in action. Anything on Grand Bahama from the 60's?

  • im a bahamian too and what do you mean the british system dosen't want us to know our culture? our culture is in history books. all YOU have to do now is READ!

  • lol

  • our culture in what history books??... i se you've been sold the story

  • what da hell you mean they are naked. Just trying to make out a poor image of Bahamians. I am a bahamian and i didnt even know this existed because the british system doesn't want us to know about our true culture.

  • Look at my people a hard working from dat time, poor choice of words by the narrator though but i guess that was back then but i mean das a lite wibe how dem white ppl use 2 live and i still believe today enn nothin change cause both governments workin with them still instead of they tryin to do things for us and helpin us to get our own they just gettin richer while the bahamian people suffering!!!!!!

  • @saxonray Oh, They are suffering? How is that?

  • At least he didn't say negroes! What would a white narrator say today? Young Bahamian men perhaps. We've come a long way, but still not far enough.

  • Native Black boys, Ladies of rather good size, What the fuck, either way still awesome to see history, where can i get the whole thing on dvd?

  • (8)lift up your head, to the diving coin, you black boy(8)

  • could you imagine without tourism what the bahamas would be like today....especially lonnie

  • ya boi jus say 'native black boys' dred

  • check out the 242 23 years before we become independence dred lol

  • Native black boys.lol....a term that would be derogatory for a white narrator to use today.I still cant believe fellas once sailed up to those large ships in hopes for coins. This is so old and fascinating!

  • Britishers were plunderer and aggressors. They occupied the poor countries and plundered the wealth (raw material) with both hands.

  • We got our independence on July 10, 1973. I was at the ceremony with my elementry school
