@MrCoolguy1988 liar pretty strong words, the reason I use it its strong. cant collapse the fenders with that, and its thick walled, you cant break it, I sold it a week ago to a guy for his pickup to rebuild, and by 14 runs, they werent all in the same car, about 5 cars. and i won two. so you know nothing.
@MrCoolguy1988 ok, lemme find them, I have a little more going on right now than worrying about uploading pics. small blocks are better, but when you have a junk engine that runs inside a derbied chevy pickup, what else to do with it? tryit till it stops, and the runs it was in werent all mine, it was in two for a pickup, three in a red white and blue impala, 4 in a pontiac, and 2 in a biscayne and three in a wagon. I sold it, my buddy crushed it the wagon after it blew. it lasted. not lying.
@HBMAN665420 it blew in july at the mobridge sd derby. it was a green and yelow wagon. it lasted, im not lying, why would I lie about a sport im involved in every summer. im not in it to win it, im in it for a good time, if you still think im lieing good for you, I know im right, its not hard to get that many runs out of one motor, my buddy has a 350 hes gotten 21 runs out of, its all a matter of matienance and extreme luck, im suprised it lasted as long as it did myself I see your point.
what we do is mount up a discount 4 core aluminum radiator with tie wire and silicone and tie wire a electric fan on. one time the tie wire came off and the silicone was the only thing holding it on
ive seen the steel tanks run and i dont like em
they run 2 hot at the end of a hour and 30 minute derby
Have you ever run a steel tank in place of the rad, we do that around here and they are often smashed badly but still holding water, no fan, seems like they run forever without overheating , amazing what ten gallons of water do with no cooling.
Do you have any videos of you running in competition? Have you run any big blocks in the derby, I have a 77 Lincoln with a 460 c6 and 9" rear, got it for free and not sure if I should invest time into biulding it ir parting it out. The body is ruff but the drivetrain only has 70,000 miles. What are your thoughts?
i'm not sure. quite a few i hope. it's got a steel crank, scat rods, kb pistons, and a comp solid roller cam. i run full synthetic oil and change it after every run. i will probably tear it down and check everything after ten runs. i like mopar engines, just don't like the transmissions.
I am big demo fan and driver, but I never did understand the purpose of running and possibly ruining the such a hi po eng. I have good luck with bone stock small blocks. Whats the piont of biulding such a stout eng for demo, Id rather build the rest of the car and run a good ol reliable small block chevy.
Well, that engine is just a bunch of parts that I had lying around after i built a new engine for my sonoma. I got tired of seeing them not being used, so I bought a gasket kit and some headers and there it is. It's very reliable, doesn't steam out the overflow, and i'm not afraid to run it hot. The 462 casting double hump heads on it withstand heat very well. My cars are built equally as well, so I'm with you there. I guess to each his own!
it's a 40 over 350 block with a gm 1182 steel crank, scat rods, and keith black flat top pistons. heads are a hogged out set of double humps, with comp roller solid roller valvetrain. Torquer 2 intake and 600 edelbrock carb, DEC headers.
thanks!

how many runs can you get out an eng like that? Most people around here run small block chryslers, what are you thought on them, like the 318
