  • 10 years ago when I saw this in theaters, I gasped and shivered at 1:01 when they played Gandalf's voice over in the flashback.

  • guys Do you also think that this is the best MOvie EVER? and that Tolkien is a genioussss?

  • Samwise Gamgee has to be the most beautiful fictional character of all time!

  • ''I'm going to Mordor alone..''

-''Of course you are. And I'm coming with you!''

This could very well be the finest piece of loyalty ever.

  • many people don't realize that tolkien was a christian. I can spot many christian attributes in this movie. Frodo is a form of christ who was delivering, and bearing the ring, and sam was a form of an apostle who helped him on the way. Thats what i see.

  • @Bribickhed6 Tolkien and CS Lewis were good friends and both christians, although Tolkien did decide to make a more religiously neutral fantasy world (the opposite of what Lewis did, Narnia is much more christian influenced). He was inspired by many myths and legends though. So it's hard to tell.

  • @Metallosaurus you sir are 100% correct. I agree Narnia is alot more christian influenced. Aslan in Narnia was the savior and represents Christ. when Aslan died on the stone table that represented Christ dying on the cross for our sins. but yes it is hard to say with LOTR

  • how come no one notices the wizard whistle

  • I like how in Frodo's memory of that talk, he pictures Gandalf as like a hero.

  • the 9 dislikes come from 0bama, his gay lover, and 7 braindead 0bamabots who hate Lord of the Rings and wanted Sauron to win by spreading communism over middle earth.

they never explain why gandalf couldn't just warp with the ring to mordor and throw the ring in... then warp back. he is a wizard after all.

  • @runsaber1 Uh...Okay...

  • @runsaber1 The Ring gives power according to each one's measures. Frodo was no mightly lord but he had big a heart and he was wise, so the Ring could consume him much slower than it would have consumed Gandalf or Galadriel. Hobbits also have a talent to hide somewhat well without using the Ring.

The Ring would have had much more fatal effect on mighty people. That's why he refused it. The Ring would have been exposed much faster to Sauron if anyone mightier carried it but a hobbit.

  • @Elainiwen Also Gandalf doesn't have the power of teleportation lol

  • FUCK DAT SHIT! Tolkien just wanted to make money.

  • @SuperGeorgian ..........why man ......why!

  • @SuperGeorgian "It is written in my life blood, such as that is, thick or thin; and I can no other." -JRRT

He was a talented philologist interested in epic myths. He was a loving husband for a wife whom he waited to have for years. He was in World War as an officer. He got a lot of inspiration from those, and in his final years he got the Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Oxford and was knighted by the Queen of England.

Now, you try to do all that and then say "I just wanted to make money".

  • @SuperGeorgian people who exploit themselves on reality shows just want to make money. a man who had a brilliant mind, a sincere heart, and a boundless imagination who took years creating a world with its own history, races, geography and languages so that others might appreciate his vision and find a place, however large or small, in middle earth when reality is sometimes too harsh, PROBABLY didn't just want to make money. take your imbecility elsewhere and let us fans enjoy the video.

  • @slpaperhearts So what you're saying that..... he just wanted to be a millionaire?

  • @SuperGeorgian uh, there have been plenty of other ppl who have been able to make money a lot faster and less nobly, so if he just wanted to make money, there were plenty of less time consuming ways of doing it. that is one of the dumbest comments ever though. :/

  • Gandalf dies?!? Spoilers!!

  • gandalf lives inside all of us.

  • @EPICacceptance He lives in you! He lives in me! Lol sorry

  • @berserker276

be yourself cause everyone else is taken

  • @EPICacceptance Lol what?

  • dont mind me, i just have rivers flowing on my face, nbd

  • I want this on my Gravestone *-*

  • thus ends the only time frodo saved sam

and it took him long enough too

  • "I made a promise Mr. Frodo. A promise! 'Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee!' And I don't mean to. I don't mean to!"

  • what if sam died lol.

  • sam wise the brave not the fool

  • My soulmate broke with me since one month. I suffer a lot, thought to suicide, but when i watch this video, i found inspiration and strenght again. I wish this pain never come to me, i wish all of this will never happen. But i all that i have to decide now is what to do of my life without her and continue to live, even the life is not always that we excpected.

Thanks Lord of the Ring for all this beautiful scene.

  • Samwise The Brave!

  • those words have a lot of meaning........inspired from the life!this how all the people should think things regardless of the age we live now!its ours decisions that makes the difference!

  • I love spending my time slipping quotes from Lord of the Rings into my every day life... Its just that cool

  • if only promises had the same importance to all people as they do for sam.

  • there is much wisdom in there

  • the second part of the vid, the end of the movie, when they show a glimpse of Gandalf always makes me cry. along with gandalfs death and when everyone bows to the hobbits in lotr rotk

  • @RunescapeFreakAddict gandalf didnt die you retard?

  • @Browne401 Gandalf the grey did.

  • this inspiring me!

  • I first watched this film when I was about 10. I used to think it had loads of cool action scenes. Now at 21 I treasure these scenes so much more: the wisdom of Gandalf, and the bravery and Friendship of Sam and Frodo. LOTR Forever <3

  • @davoisakoollord i am 11 and i treasure these kind of scenes :3 All we have to decide is what to do with the films that is given to us

  • True friendship is more valuable than any form of romantic love.

  • @angelmarine1292 It is possible to have a bond of true comradeship with a lover though. Especially when two must struggle together...

  • @EdikShepherd Which is why your lover ought to also be a solid friend.

  • @angelmarine1292 And she is ^^

Which is why I feel so lucky

  • Though the final two films were spectacular, the first was such a marvel that it takes away from it's power to describe it simply as a masterpiece of cinematography or scriptwriting. The Fellowship of the Ring is truly life-altering.

  • @Wethepeople0007 nope actually your the dumb ass, gandalf does say "fly you fools" when he is hanging off the bridge.

  • It's actually run you fools........dumb ass

  • Comment removed

  • @Wethepeople0007 In the book it says "Fly you fools" but your right anyway cause he says that in the movie :)

  • the final speech he gives him is actually: fly you fools

  • I wish these days were like this.... That you could hug your best friend, man or woman, and express what you feel.. without being called "Gay" or "weak". Peter Jackson is a fucking genious.

  • This is the best speech in all lotr

  • *Samwise Gamgee joins the party*

  • Many of us think like Frodo at some moment or other in our lives "I wish this would have never happened to me". We all need someone like Gandalf to show us the ray of hope.

  • @vars280287 the point is we don't need someone like gandalf . in my opinion tolkien's ,message isn't about teachers and mentors (if i spell it right) it's about the strength of will which keeps us in our track so we can achieve our purpose whether it's hard or easy. After all galadriel says it right ""Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."

  • @sious13 That is literially one of the deepest things ive read in a while........

  • @sious13 i feel that we need someone like Gandalf though to show us the way and find our strength.

  • @sious13 but we do need someone like Sam. i would've killed myself already without some1 like him. Frodo would've never made it without him

  • @sious13 sometimes we need teachers to guide us on the right path

  • @vars280287

     I couldn't agree more.

  • @vars280287 i have that and its amazing.. ur ryt we all nd it.. da truth is we all have it,, but we just dont know it... i do and im better off becuz of it

  • Year after year, I see great movies, but i know in my heart that NOTHING will ever be as good as Lord of the Rings<3

  • Movie Mistake at 2:21, sorry fans, lol!

  • @mniyad ?

  • Give it up for Howard Shore's genius Music and Peter Jackson's excellent directing.

  • The greatest movie ever made, nothing will never top this

  • Sean Austin wrecked is foot running into that lake. True fans know this shit <3

  • @lordjamito007 True fans also know that his name is Sean Astin

  • Best music of the entire movie.

  • am i the only one who didnt think the hobbits really did it all i mean no shit they destroyed the ring but wb the guys fighting and getting shit on through the whole movie?

  • @TheBamf464 Gandalf does die. He is sent back to Middle Earth in a more powerful form. Tolkien himself stated this.

  • This guy fails. First of all Gandalf doesn't die. Second Gandalf's last words to Frodo were, "Fly you fools" just before he fell with the Balrog.

  • @TheBamf464 lol at first I could never quite understand what Mr. Mithrandir was saying.....thought he said "Folly you fools" the first time I heard it. (Watched movies before read book) but luckily the movies were also masterpieces.

  • @TheBamf464 In a way your are right, but on the other hand, these were his last words directly too Frodo and only for Frodo. "Fly you fools" was said to all of them.

  • @featch30 Ok yea putting it that way I would have to agree. I just don't like to consider those his final words to Frodo because he has words with Frodo before he takes him with him to the Grey Havens with Bilbo. haha But, that is at the very end of Return of the King.

  • @MrSweatyCock29 Among other things yes i am a faithless prick, I am not an ignorant asshole, if you really want to look at the source of ignorance then point towards religion, but that's beside the point. There is no evidence explaining or proving the afterlife, nor is there anything that can say against, but what i cannot comprehend, is why do you people thing that everything in the cosmos is for humans, and why would you want to live forever? Things are more beautiful if your time is limited.

  • @MrHazeification Lookup up this MrSweaty's Channel. Yikes.

  • this part makes me cry every time one of the best movies ever!

  • Dang. I remember the first time I watched the scene where Frodo is staring out into the river on the shore and thinking about the burden of the Ring...(I was about, what? 9 or 10 years old) as soon as Gandalf's voice began to speak and the flashback of his words began to show on screen...I bawled like a baby. Rivers just streaming down me face.

"I MISS GANDALF AAAH WHY'D HE HAVE TOOO DIIIEEE??? STUPID GIANT DOG THING MADE OF FIRE."

  • There is no reason to dislike this movie at all. Peter Jackson was smart in casting them all at the same time, which is one of the many reasons why it has become and always will be the greatest trilogy in history.

  • lol bauramir at the end

  • all what we have to decide is what to do with 5 faggots that disliked this vid!

  • @helvijs100 LOL!!! It's moments like these that I wish I had the ability to like a comment again and again and again xD

  • @helvijs100 I love this video but do you think that Tolkien would like to see you calling someone a "faggot" I like it, you like it, lots of people like but that doesn't matter that everyone must like it !!!!!

  • @helvijs100 let smaug eat them :)

  • @helvijs100 There is only one thing you can do with these 8 people and that is to throw them into mount doom with the ring.

  • So many people think Elijah Wood was miscast; I don't understand how on earth can anyone think that after watching this scene?! He's perfect. Just like everything else in these movies...

  • @amelia4242 Never heard anyone say that really.

  • @amelia4242

No way was he miscast. The only difference in the book was that Frodo was older. But for this part. He was superb IMO.

  • FLY YOU FOOLS

  • aww man wheres Gandalf fighting the guardian of mines of Moria the Balrog

  • Why the hell are people talking about religion in a Lord of the Rings video...?

  • Sam is my hero!

  • I can never get enough of these movies. So damn near perfection. Pieces of it shows the essence of almost Shakespearean poetry and beauty.

  • @MajinVegeto89 Yeah, but those movies are not near perfection, they are perfect.. Peter Jackson did very good, and J.R.R Tolkien made the best Trigoly EVER MADE IN THE WORLD.

  • @MajinVegeto89 I think at times it even surpasses Shakespeare! :)

  • Peter Jackson is a genius.

  • Just like a chat with your favourite Grandad. So much experience and wisdom in life being passed on.

  • Why the F**K has this video got 5 dislikes

  • Words to live by.

  • Sam: the ultimate stoic.

  • Religion is crap.

  • @crazydog121 Nice random ass comment. Idiot.

  • @starwars910 suck my dick, Fag.

  • @crazydog121 Nice delayed comment homo. ^.^

  • @starwars910 nice to know you check your youtube account everyday. ^.^ maybe you should leave that basement and go explore life

  • @crazydog121 awwwww did I hit someone's soft spot??? that is the most original and over used statement on the planet.....grow up.

  • @starwars910 yea i kno, but the thing is you dont leave your house

  • @crazydog121 Im in highschool..the only reason I would leave my house is if I was kicked out or poor.

  • @starwars910 great to know you dont have a social life.

  • @crazydog121 Eh....two days to make that one up....I give up.

  • @crazydog121 THERE SHALL BE NO SUCKING OF DICKS WHILST GANDALF TALKS TO FRODO PLEASE.

  • @crazydog121 so is your opinion

  • Such a powerful scene.

  • it was niether it was "folly" it means get away or run

  • Tear stream

  • true friendship 2:38

  • @pettigrew24

lol Nokia : Connecting People ;)

  • made me cry

  • 1:10

One of the best lines in all of cinema.

  • Actually his final words to Frodo were "It is time Frodo.", before leaving for the undying lands.

  • @josh15soto25 I think he means Gandalf the grey.

  • Embedding disabled on facebook? Is there a legitimate reason?

  • BEST TRILOGY EVER!

  • love the way sam starts to swim after frodo when he could have taken the other boat, LEGEND!

  • @NatureBeats lol i was thinking exactly the same thing

  • Perhaps, there are certain things that you don't have to share with other people. But I prefer to share everything with God. I'm sorry about your deppression. I hope I can help.

  • @LordGodsServant Leave Now. And NEVER come BACK!!

  • oh i love you sam!

    Gay hobbits.

  • They're not gay, retard. They're best friends.

  • @derekgbartlett he does't know this cause he probably never had any friends, and never will.

  • @derekgbartlett obviously some people have never had friends XD

  • GRAN FINAL :)

  • You liked this video. We'll use this to improve your recommendations.

  • These were NOT his last words.... his last words were "Fly you fools!"

  • what beautiful words...

  • I love this series. Tolkien, but some good Christian morals and such into these books, and in a touching manner. I am blessed to have some beautiful fantasy like this.

    AmDrag

  • @TheAmericanDragn Keep your imaginary god out of my imaginary fantasy series

  • @Cirvantes123 If you are referring to THE God, "God" needs to be capitalized. And add a period. :)

    AmDrag

  • You see, there's a small difference between what Gandalf says at first, in Moria, and what Frodo remembers...

Moria: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us!"

Memories: "All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you!"

  • @Larkvaitig It was meant to be more personal second time around.

  • why does religion have to rear its ugly head in everything good. Just enjoy it and keep your ridiculous beliefs to yourselves

  • @PinguTuan An ignorant and somewhat idiotic quote seeing as LOTR was written by a devout Catholic.

Keep your tyranical Aethiest beliefs to yourself.

  • ight who looked this up after watching the lotr fotr re-premiere

  • How on earth did it turn into such a wide scale religious debate in here? -.-

Forget religion for now. The Lord of the Rings is what REALLY brings people together. And without quarrel.

  • Frodo ''I'm going to Mordor Alone!''

Sam ''Of course you are! Ad I'm coming with you!''

I'd so be sam for my friends. Even if i have to carry them into a volcano to destroy an evil artefact. (Like Homework 0_0)

  • @TheHDLancer it is our responsability to teach the next generation things like this beautiful thought :)

  • I kinda like this movie more from the perspective of the emotions it gave

Return of the king more from the perspective of epicness

& The two towers I loved it, but not as much as FOTR & ROTK

  • goosebumps

  • Actually. His final words to Frodo was ''Fly, you fools!''

  • @wiimannoob he said that to frodo in the elven lands across the sea?

  • @wiimannoob Gandalf's 'last' words to Frodo none can guess. Arms about him maybe, as he comforts a still-young hero on the ship to white shores. Sweet spice of pipeweed last spent on nostrils once again made perfect as they part company for but a brief millennia... who dares guess.

Regardless, Gandalf is, in the words of C. S. Lewis, an eldil. He moved with singularity in this world of flesh and bone.

  • @wiimannoob Those were to everyone, this was his last one on one conversation.

  • @wiimannoob

Actually, that wasn't their last time seeing each other. :)

  • @wiimannoob frodo isnt a fool

  • @wiimannoob how can frodo be "fools" that was a more general comment, mainly to aragorn and boromir, who would lead the fellowship

  • @wiimannoob , if they had the DAMN Eagles like him, they could have!!! LOL

  • @wiimannoob that was gandalf the white, this is gandalf the grey

  • @Astiengaw1 a little too picky. "gandalf the grey, that's what they used to call me..." they're the same person, basically.
