belive it or not, but if you invert the china upside down, you get a deeper sound, and it sounds much better, My buddy Bill Bruford from "yes" taught me this at a clinic.
Nice kit bro, i've got a DW collectors series kit. Just sold it though and bought a Pacific LXE kit. I would recommend these kits to anyone, very simular to DW in every way at a fraction of the price.

its not about randomly cramming as many strokes as possible into a short period of time, its about arranging them to fill in spaces and sound GOOD together.

Sounds good except that one part where where you're trying to do fast singles on the snare and letting your pinky, rather, your supporting fingetrs and relying on all fulcrum.. Technique!! Otherwise it sounds great :)
Sounded cool, and it's going to get better, I can tell. Besides, you said it was a warmup! Interesting drum setup. You get a deep sound out of the shallow toms. Bass sounds great, does a lot of it come from the resonator, and do you like it? Neil Peart uses shallow toms tuned tight, but gets a resonant sound. It's cool DW offers unusual tom sizes, what's your impression of the drums now that you're getting used to them? What heads work best with these sizes? Keep rocking! metalfiend124

the "drum" in front of my bass drum is a bass drum resonator. read more about it at www.dwdrums.com it has an internally mounted microphone and picks up the bass drum sound through vibrations. its called a "resonator" or a sub woofer.
my left wrist is way over active. i broke it/sprained it in 2000 and ever since i have to use my wrist more than my fingertips, cause when i hold my wrist stiff it hurts. but i can still train myself more. i love to learn
You use your wrist too much, roll with the fingertips, get into it while you're still learning. Very nice work though, I loved the quality. What did you record with?

yeah this was a dw sponsored artist's kit, who i drum tech for and learn from. of coarse he is the real deal and im just a drummer wannabe. NO I DONT HAVE RICH PARENTS. they never bought me any drums my whole life. im 33 and a late start on the drums, obviously.

this drumset was partly a gift from a friend and fellow drummer, John Molo. its a DW "short stack" kit with 24 k gold plated hardware. i could never afford a kit like this. being a drum tech to the stars has its rewards.

a few suggestions
1. turn the china over, your gonna break it.
2. Learn a better sticking technique (learn double stroke rolls, it helps)
3. Clean it all up a bit (make it flow)
