  • Food in Belgium is double expensive !

  • love this guy!!!!

  • Yeah I bodybuild. I just never cut. :)

  • that rice last u a month? doesnt look like much

  • if you're not aware fat doesn't require energy

  • 10 chicken breast's are like £12 here, so thats like £20 dolla!

  • @xBLoCKzHD Really man? I'm just over in Dublin and my local you can get 10 for 6.99, the other week two packs of five for a fiver!

  • @xBLoCKzHD chicken is getting more expensive here in london by the day!!

  • ffs, food in america is so cheap...

  • damn i love how excited you are. you should be a tv salesman. i'd buy anything you were selling

  • lmao that was funny as shit when you pronounced aspergine 3 times

  • How many pounds of meat do you eat per day/week?

  • Wish my grocery store had a deal like that, I mean i even work there and I only get 10% on my brand products.

  • Been subbed for a while bro and your vids are still fucking great...

  • Hey when blending your oats try doing it without cooking the oats. I find that blending them dry keeps my shakes at a nice consistency. Not that thick stuff you were referring to. Just something to try.

  • Love the enthusiasm Nick, nice work!

  • Isn't aspergaan sociated with cancer?

  • I usually enjoy your videos and most of your advice and techniques are solid, but 5'7" @ 4,000 calories is just way too much for your height, bro. 2,500 bulking tops for your height would be sufficient IMO. I know that everyone is different, and if you need 4k, more power to you. Like I said, 4k is just going to fat and there's no way you need that much. Maybe someone that is 6'. 1800 to 2000 should be your cutting diet for that height. Much luck.

  • @southport97 Height has absolutely ZERO to do with your caloric intake.. It's all about your weight and your goals. At 190lbs looking to grow heavier, 4k+ is acurate.

  • @scondore I think you need more mass on your side deltoids.

  • @southport97 your dumb

  • @southport97 dont listen to the FDA... they give the "average person" just enough calories to subsist without degenerating.

  • @southport97 2500 isn't even his maintenance.

  • Nick I have a question...are you on a ton of preworkouts during this video? I mean this is better enthusiasm than a commercial...lol. j/k big Nick. Good job though really. I actually learned alot from this one.

  • you say nigglet you racist cunt?

  • I work at Stop n Shop, lol. And if you dont have a stop n shop card, you can just ask the cashier to put a store card in for you. Also, Aldis is a great grocery store all over the country with amazing prices.

  • *neighbor walks by*

    -Who's this nigga talking to?

  • LOL choke, spit, puke and have a baby at the same time :D

  • Aldi is an excellent for store budget shopping.

  • Oat's are one of the most allergenic foods out there according to Charles Poliquin. It can or may be cross contaminated with gluten.

  • so i know the chicken provides lean protein with low fat. but what is the benefit of eating steak once a week?

  • @ssjcell sigh.........as long as it fits your macro's you can have it every day.In regards to health benefits eat it in moderation.Just make sure at least 1/3 of your fat intake is from saturated fat and no more.Include steak in that if you want to.

  • skilled pianist in the house.

  • @MRMAGIC305X U think u eat more than u actually do

  • In Texas we have something called HEB,

chicken breast are cheap as hell (usually 50c-1 dollar a lb). I feel lucky ^_^

  • Marketing genius haha

  • MEAT FROM WALMART IS NOT MEAT.

  • WOW, you're quite the character. I've done school in a month and about to be on my own soon. This could be very useful.

  • You forgot eggs!!!!!

  • My total cholsteral level is a tiny 106, anything under 200 is consider really good. My LDL is 80 and HDL 44. I get a SMA 12 blood panel few times a year because I'm diabetic so got to watch carbs. Again I think too many obsess too much over type/total fat intake. How well or not your body handles it depends on genetics too. I even sneak a pizza, double quarter pounder with cheese, fries once in awhile (don't tell nobody) other goodies. ;-)

  • I usually have a big breakfast and usually a decently big dinner, what should i be eating "on the go" during the day, maybe taking 5-10 mins. to make?

  • Dpends on size. Chart I have shows a skinless chicken thigh serving 5 grams of fat while a breast about 3, throw in a leg another 4 grams so 12 total which is only 20% of recommend daily fat intake on a 2,000 calorie diet. Depends what else you eat that day. My opinion, too many bodybuilder types have all they can do to push down the bland crap they eat day after day. If some have that willpower, God bless em. Most guys don't and won't stay on such a diet long enough if they barely get it down.

  • Even though i have my meals, i watched this WHOLE video because of your great enthusiasm. LOVE IT, thanks for the videoS

  • Food is so fucking cheap in America! WTF?!

That amount of meat would probably cost double that over here in the UK.

How much protein do you get per 100g with the chicken you showed in this video?

  • @AtoZyzzyva Relative to UK, rest of Europe, yes, food generally is cheaper in the states. I was curious so I just checked. End of last year for US 92 million head of cattle, 9 billion chickens/turkeys and about 60 million hogs. Average retail cost for beef about $4 a pound, but 2-3 times that for prime cuts, like steaks. Pork averages $2.50- 3.30 lb. Chicken as low as $1.00 lb for whole bird, about $3.50 breasts, dark meat about $2.50lb.

  • @AtoZyzzyva

When I want chicken I often get the already cooked variety that the larger grocery stores cook in store rotisserie style. You can get whole cooked roaster chickens, about 4-5lb (bones in) for about $7-8, easily 2-3 meals and it is already nicely seasoned and ready to eat. Just breasts too. Just take most/all skin off, that's where the fat is.

  • @willieofroanoke

Chicken thighs and legs are full of fat and not the good kind.

So, with all the time needed to cut the breast away from the whole chicken and essentially throw away the rest of the crap (I would rather get my fats from good sources) then it works out as more time for less meat for less money.

    :/

  • Most importantly Nick is that you're eating like a caveman. Carbs from the ground and protein from animals. This I feel is the key to health. Avoiding anything in packages (processed) only hurts physique (minus simple sugars post workout). Good stuff!

  • sick video, so true

  • breathe

  • What the FUCK, man. I eat way more than that and workout but can't get past 135lbs. I eat that same exact diet too! Must be the supplements...

  • @MRMAGIC305X Genetics have a huge part to play, you can never compare two random people, you sound like an ecto this dude is a meso so you probs need to eat 500 plus more calories a day minimum.

  • @MRMAGIC305X Most likely your metabolism. What is your body type? Judging just by your weight you're probably a Etcomorph which almost always have very high metabolism. The higher it is the more effective your body is burning off fat. Doing excessive cardio is your enemy. The exact opposite of an Endomorph (chubby) where you need to do more cardio due to typically slow metabolism to help burn off fat.

  • @willieofroanoke Yeah, I'm definitely ecto but I assure you I don't do a damn thing exercise wise except lift unless you count walking around my college campus to get from class to class.

  • @MRMAGIC305X My dad was too. He ate 4,500 calories a day most of his life which is more than twice a normal diet and lived to be almost 86... he never weighted more than 145 pounds. You're probably what many call a hardgainer. I don't really like that term, but Google it and there's all kinds of information, much conflicting. You'll probably have to work harder to gain muscle mass.

  • Haha here in Idaho I can buy a 10lb bag of taters for $2.00

  • Great Video Nick, keep doing what you do. Whats your take on organic foods and how it works in the body? If I have the budget for it, should I go that way? I always eat the organic eggs right not just cause the extra omegas, but what about everything else? Hit me up. Thanks

  • I would go organic for things you eat in its entirety such as peppers, berries, apples etc... and not on things like bananas, onions and the like where you throw away the top layer. If your budget allows it I would probably take organic meats over organic produce any day... just my 2 cents

  • lol i love the energy, really different from your old vidoes

  • little hyper...

  • I totally agree with you Nick.

So you and the Twins disagree on an exercise! So the fuck what? You didn't disrespect them in any way and you voiced your opinion on deadlifts like you are allowed to. People these days are some fucking idiots that just jump on bandwagons and go with the flow without having any idea what they are saying. It's like a meme.

  • You sound like Billy Mays

  • @FunsPeople wtf no

  • I don't even have that type of budget, if i did i'd be weighing more than 180 lbs i'm 17 right now 5ft,8in. Working out is my passion as well and plan to do competitions when i'm 19 yrs old.

  • damn, it's a good thing we can't comment on bulletins..

  • Coupons and sales are food stamps for the middle class.

  • only true bodybuilders can get excited over a giftcard to a grocery store XD, haha great video, keep it up nick!

  • really informative video, but being well aware on the budget, i think its worth it to shell out an extra few dollars and get higher quality steak, i had a low quality one, cooked it rare and it was so chewy i could barely get it down

  • @IhAvIk93 Nick is talking bulk. If you buy in BULK, yeah, chicken breasts can run around $2.49 a pound on sale, more if you want them skinless. Can go up to $3.50 or more in smaller packages. Steak, if you're talking a better cut like Tbone, strip, can run $10-$14 a pound, my favorite filet mignon around $16 or more per pound. I rather have a smaller decent steak than a bigger lower quality.

  • Beautiful Nick what happened to H.D ?

  • prettay prettay impressive

  • good vid nick with good info

  • @whiteboyvids If you like comedy. ;-) Unless Nick has super willpower he's suggesting he only eats potatoes, oatmeal, brown rice, a green vegatable, a few ounces of red meat and a chicken breast plus supplements. That's it? Next vid he says he's eating over 4,000 calories a day. I could do that for maybe a week, then I'd be climbing the walls. I guess he raids the family fridge for milk, butter, a slice of bread, cheese, jelly, etc.. once in a while. Ok, I'm just having fun...

  • @willieofroanoke are you new to bodybuilding? thats a normal diet. Its a part of the lifestyle that nick wright and MYSELF are apart of.

  • @whiteboyvids No, I've been doing bodybuilding off and on for almost 20 years. Lets not start another squable over what is or isn't a good diet. There's tons of variables and opinions change over time. I'm not saying chicken isn't a good source of protein and a fairly cheap one (it is) but just eating that, oatmeal and a few other things over and over meal after meal, day after day isn't the only way and its as boring as hell.

  • @willieofroanoke If you watched the previous video, his supplements came in the mail, and he got a 15lb bucket of quality meal replacement powder, which he will use for two out of his four meals a day. So he is only eating two "real" meals a day, which explains why he purchased so little amount of groceries.

Muy grocery list looks like that, except I buy more chicken, cans of tuna, a gallon of milk, two tubs of cottage cheese, eggs and other things.

  • dude, you'd be a GREAT salesman.....ever think of getting into marketing?

  • Cool wish we could get groceries cheap in UK

PS 7:02 the way he says $5 is hilarious

  • @shaz3r786 I'm curious... Nick didn't mention produce, which tends to be quite expensive, obviously any prepacked foods, no dairy, etc.. I know things tend to be more expensive on the other side the pond. Do you have super sized grocery stores?

In the states most mom and pop grocery stores in major metro areas are long gone. Replacing them you have mega sized stores, some as big as 100,000 sq feet, open 24/7, then regional chains about half as big and warehouse type stores.

  • @willieofroanoke hey man this side of the atlantic, we have 3 main supermarkets Sainsburys, Tesco n Asda (owned by walmart). The price of food here is a lot more expensive and the only way to get cheap foods is to either get the supermarket own brands or go to the cash n carry stores or ethnic grocers.

  • @shaz3r786 cont... Shops like Lidl which is german have made their way into the UK which offer very cheap stuff and we have a couple of Costcos but all in all, wt Nick is buying for $25 a week will cost us double even when going to wholesale shops.

  • @shaz3r786 Extremely compative in states. There's a few national chains, but even that term is misleading. Nobody anymore operating in all 50 states, except for stores like Walmart, Target and few others that are more than just grocery stores. Most stores use what they call a "loss leader" sell something at or below cost just to get you in the door. Example today I got 2 pints of fresh strawberries for $5. Store across the street 1 pint for $3.98. Shame you pay double for food/gas.

  • @shaz3r786 Cont 1

Like Nick mentioned larger Walmart, Target, others are basically dept. stores that have recently added groceries in larger stores. Warehouse stores lke Cosco are a membership deal where you buy in bulk. REALLY big lots. Like you can get a 5 gallon jar of pickles, buy most anything by the case or no kidding, order a casket, they actually have them on display in smaller sized models. Creepy.

  • Blimey... you wouldn't get that lot for under 20$ in England even at Bloody Tescos. Were they Sweet Potatoes? Good video BTW.

  • WHY ARE YOU YELLING!!!???!!!

  • i only came here because of the hodgetwins not because i support u but honestly ur bloated if ur a teen bodybuilding champ i must be a greek god. and its not just this video u look like poo in them all.

  • @TheRambologist its called bulking u fuckin tard

  • i rather fuck my gf than watch this lol

  • brb, pounding my chick in her aspar-gina

  • You think tattos effect when you compete?

  • @ryumariscal They can affect your striations and definition.

  • @ryumariscal Usually, yes. They cover up cuts and veins. Not a lot of bodybuilder have them.

  • @ryumariscal They do. When you compete it's oftenly not allowed to have tattoos. That's for most bodybuilding competitions, and I think it is the kind of the same for physique competitions. :-)

  • @ryumariscal I personally think they can be distracting. Roelly Winklaar's tattoo across his abdomen and Johnnie Jackson's tattoos on his arms, for example, blur some of the definition.

  • @ryumariscal obviously if they are large and cover up your hard work

  • @ryumariscal they go against u in scoring

  • costco is the best wern it comes to buying frozen chicken

  • Love the energy man I feel the same way about my food!!

  • im not hateing but nick look like shit

  • @gym2594

Yes, you are HATING because you're sitting there on your computer searching YouTube for people who're successful and talking shit on their channels while someone else is working out and helping other people on the internet for free.

  • @ProteinDesign dude dont get me wrong im a big fan of him no homo lol and he just need to cut and he be back

  • this is crazy, down here in the land downunder (australia) im cutting at the moment and groceries for myself cost about 100$ a week!! , just chicken breasts cost 16 $ a kilo!, damn you US....

  • 7:03 FFAAHIIVE dollars.. lol

  • Comment removed

  • organic meats would be more expensive

  • The amount of protein would not last me 4 days. Thats only like 2 meals of steak and 6 of breast. Having 6 breast a day and there goes that part lol.

  • So inexpensive!! Wish it was so inexpensive in Norway.....

  • Can you post up your meal plan on how you ration out your food through out each week?

  • Cont 2

I typically grill RAW chicken breasts in 2-3 minutes, depending on thickness. Never cook a plain chicken breast in a microwave, it ends up looking, tasing like rubber. Next buy some spices. Yeah they are expensive but last for months. Finally learn a few recipes or just find them on the web. Don't limit yourself to chicken. Pleny of fish, beef and pork dishes are lower in fat that you think.

  • Choke, spit up, puke and have a baby at the same time lol

  • Cont 1

Put away your frying pan. Dig in the back of your pantry and bring out the old crock pot or buy one. While you're at it get one of those George Foreman grills. These modest investments will allow you to cook a whole universe of TASTY, healthy foods, not the same bland slop. The crock pot allows you to buy very cheap, but tasty cuts of meat. Pop them in first thing in morning they slow cook all day they end up very tender, tasty. The grill cooks extremely fast. Like a few minutes.

  • I think Nick has a career as a pitchman for late night info-commericals.

Seriously, regardless if it is Nick, Jay Cuttler, Ronnie Coleman or any of the dozens of people doing their stick on Youtube when it comes to cooking you guys suck. I couldn't get a hungry dog to eat the stuff you all throw together and to eat it meal after meal, day after day, week after week. That doesn't mean you can't eat smart.

    A few humble suggestions follow.

  • Some stuff here in the UK can be super cheap, I consume about 2 bags of oats a week and they're about 60p a bag, A pack of about 8-10 chicken breasts is about £4.50, and 1 litre of skimmed UHT milk is about 50p too, and a huge bag of brown rice of pasta is only a couple of quid, plus frozen veg for about £1 a kg :) ... But if you want anything else, it will cost you HARD!

  • dude quit calling yourself a "junior" your are over 18, get real life.

  • Nick this question is a little off topic. But im wondering, you seem to have roughly the same stats as me. Like you my chest size is a weak point. Have you ever considered hitting it 2x per week (dividing your current volume in half for 2 sessions), while still hitting everything else 1x per week? I'm debating on trying it, although my bench numbers are still slowly increasing so Id hate to try it for a month and if it doesnt work, just be a waste of time. Whats your thoughts?

  • Supplement budgeting? A good way to budget them is to just not waste your money on them lol.

  • lol been waiting for this vid. haha NICE!!

  • those tags that stop n' shop give you aren't to prompt you to go back, they actually record your purchase so that the store will know what products are popular so that they can raise the prices of them.

  • @FallIntoWinterr ...all stores do that with or without tags

  • inspirational bro

  • U talk so fast u need to catch ur fuckin breath

  • I'm from the U.K and get around half my protein and almost all my carbs from whole food, eating lean minced beef 7 times a week and eggs (almost all whites). That for me comes to around £20 a week.

  • Good Tips! Love the BULKING ON A BUDGET Videos! Nice work.

  • somebody give nick a teleshopping job

  • the only way i could get chicken that cheap or cheaper in canada is if i went out and slaughtered it myself lol. wayyyy too expensive here and never on sale.

  • very informative, good job

  • @justaRandomhero hipster? that is irrelevant. if you knew what was going on u would side with hodge twins they express their opinions and they dont claim to be pro bbers, however when ppl like nick bash them he has problems, nick is using half his calories from liquid... how bout real fkin food

  • You sound like a salesman

  • Lol I'm.the UK and food is nowhere near as cheap.

  • fuck you nick!!!! (not srs just jelly) i spend about $50+ on just meat a week!! aus sucks for food prices >.<

  • asparagine pronounced ah-spa-ra-gene.

  • I still dont see how you get by with only $25 a week. Im averaging $80 a week between steak, chicken, ground turkey, rice, oats, pasta occasionally, and greens. Even with sales I never get too far under 70. Which leaves me around 20-30 for gas to get to work and the grocery store every week.

  • That all good if Mummy and Daddy are paying for all the little things inbetween

  • Yup England sucks dick when it comes too dieting

  • Dude i coulda just stole have of thos items that will fit in my backpack an pay for the big items. Thats way better savings than a coupon lmfao

  • Haha you really said jay cutler gets top of the linee. That nigga shops at costco lol

  • One word Costco. 10 lbs of chicken=20.00,10 lbs of oatmeal=7.96, 90 eggs=9.00, 7 lbs of brown rice=15.00. 51.96 ya dig?

  • hahahahaha,,,u wud make a good tv salesman!

  • Am I The only person who realised that you will have to spend a lot more than he says because he is getting half his calories from the RTN meal replacement shake? Most your going to spend is $30, If you want 2000 calories a day....

  • Lovin it

  • To all the haters: what is your all bodybuilding experience, what contests do you participated in?

Insted of pushing dislike button go do your 1RM in the gym - 100lbs bench press, 20 lbs curls and 50lbs squat. Get a life loosers and build some muscle allready.

Fuck those loosers Nick, they will stop one day anyway.

  • Some of use have to eat 3 times that weekly :S

  • PEANUT BUTTER, OLIVE OIL MILK, All Kinds of NAtural Calories

  • I could easily spend $30 on just a pack of chicken breasts in NYC

  • Yo Nick, great video. Very useful. But I think your dislikes are coming from the way you market yourself. People like smokes and mirrors if you get what I mean.

  • Guys dont hate on Nick Wright...Ian McCarthy Struthers is a straight faggot but this guy is cool gives great advice

  • Thumbs up if you shop at Wincos here in the west coast!

  • Jeezus less than $25 a month??? You guys are lucky in the US. M8 I live in england and my weekly shopping costs £30 minimum lol and still the food is not enough

  • @scorpgul per week not per month:D

  • @iPwnNItRO Sorry mistake :D I actually meant a week still. $25 is unbelievable as I was saying I spend £30 a week and I still feel I am restricting my diet lol hungry all the time XD

  • @scorpgul Yeh bro. 25$ is really unbeliveable. If im bulking i had to spend like 25€ in just a few days :/

  • @scorpgul he said 25 a week

  • @scorpgul £30 and i bet thats counting every penny. I normally use £50 and thats comfortable for me

  • @scorpgul I live in England aswell and it's so hard to bulk cheaply, then again, if you go to a B&M store, you can get 6x185g tins of tuna (35g protein per tin) for around £1.80. So i'm eating 2 of those a day. I also live near a Halal butcher, and although i don't neccesarily agree with the method of slaughter, i can get 4 whole medium chickens for £10, or £10 for 10 chicken breasts. But yeah... i'm still hitting at least £35/£40 ($70) of food.

  • @dsw1664 6 tins of tuna for £1.80??? holy shit man thats great I only have Morrisons and the cans of tuna are 80p each -.-. Chicken breasts for 6 days cost me £22 lol I eat chicken twice a day. The real killer here though is eggs. 12 eggs for £2.80 lol Total ripoff

  • @scorpgul you can get 15 eggs from asda for 1.50

  • @scorpgul lol same here bro

  • @scorpgul its a week

  • @scorpgul a week

  • @scorpgul

dude my friend who lives in england says that dieting is actually cheap. he only shops at asda. either your shopping at waitrose/m&s or you just live in the expensive part of london.lol

  • @scorpgul A week not a month though

  • @scorpgul i hear you! chicken breasts are triple the price then in america for decent quality.

  • @scorpgul he said $25 a week, not a month.

  • @scorpgul try livin in ireland lol crazy exspensive here i spend 100 euro a week on food just for me

  • @scorpgul Word.

  • @scorpgul I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and my daily shopping costs around 15 euros. Calculate -.-

  • Comment removed

  • @scorpgul england doesn't have cheap meat unfortunlty even at tesco!
