I totally sound like a Baylor lover; however, by no means...I'm a Sooner's fan. Since I made it clear Griffin is better than Richardson, you will resort to bashing Oklahoma, that's fine. Even when healthy, I questioned our lofty pre-season hype. But I will say, when a 10 win season is considered this overwhelmingly disappointing..says a lot about a program.
@demolitionz27 There's not a lot of need for him to make plays when 3 different players (not Grifin) rush for over 100 yards; one of them over 200, with 5 touchdowns. He didn't have to be the hero for once.
@jejesdad And as far as Bama's loss compared to Baylor's...I don't care; that doesn't change the fact Robert Griffin is the best player in the country. Give Baylor Bama's D and their playing Lsu. It's not Griffin's fault Baylor's D is terrible. And Richardson isn't the one making plays for Bama's D...which is the reason Alabama is where it's at, not by Richardson.
@4191Andrew really he is not the best player in the country, im not a alabama fan and all im definantly nf any of them but they basicly just dont like the sec they never have last year they had no choice to give it to newton and year before that they had no choice but to give it ingram they will screw the sec if they can just like they did then.
@jejesdad Ha..well, while Baylor was in the meat of their conference schedule, Alabama was playing southern Georgia? And looked very mediocre, mind you. Alabama beat two ranked teams also, let that sink in. Baylor definitely had the tougher schedule AND more meaningful wins; cuz the sec, besides Bama and Lsu..is not that good. Besides that, Big 12 is better.
@jejesdad Idk which rg3 you're watching, but the one i watched this season, is obviously the best player in the country. Who'd Alabama play the first game of the season? Some FCS team, and he had like 40 yards, 3 touchdowns also, but anybody coulda done that. That's worse than Griffin's game against Osu...players have bad games. It happens to the beat of em. Nobody playing college football can do the things Robert Griffin can do. I can think of a handful of backs as good as Richardson.
@4191Andrew Who played a tougher schedule???? 'Bama or Baylor, and who won the more meaningful games? Beating a terrible Texas team, and an overrated OU teams means nothing. Compare the loss of 'Bama to the loss(es) of Baylor and it's no competition.
@jejesdad Don't misinterpret my first comment for me being a WVU fan, or actually believing Smith deserves the Heisman. Neither...just an example to show you what you're saying is very sec biased. He may be the best player in the beat conference but, Robert Griffin is in a league of his own, still.
@4191Andrew How is he in a league of his own? He's not even the best QB in the Big 12 dude. Take the T. Tech, and Okie St. game and how was he outstanding in them? Getting 200+ passing yards in garbage time doesn't make you good....it means your team sucks and their defense isn't good, and this kid wouldn't last 8 weeks in the SEC, or the Big 10. He won simply because Luck didn't deserve it, and the voters didn't want an Alabama based player getting it 3 years straight.
@jejesdad You're making my point. I'm pretty sure they lost to high school teams. You're trying to say Richardson should get the heisman based on his performance against lsu. That's not fair, if you go that route, you can say the same for WVU's Smith, he played very well against the best two corners in the country, along with the best, and NFL caliber secondary. Richardson did ok against a..while still good, less-vaunted lsu run defense. Can not win the heisman with one game.
@4191Andrew I never said his game vs. LSU is the end all be all, but to say RG III won it vs. a very terrible Texas and very overrated OU team is just ludicrous. Okie St. has a piss poor defense, but tore into Baylor, so since that was the BIGGEST game for Baylor, and he failed, how is he the Heisman winner?
@jejesdad west Virginia threw for 450 against lsu, richardson's 160 receiving an rushing isn't as impressive as that, where's west Virginia? Beats me.. the guy is right, don't base your argument for Richardson on one game; if you do that WV's Geno Smith has a better argument than Richardson
@4191Andrew Geno Smith did that in 1 game, and he's a QB, so he has the ball most of the game, so your argument just got weaker, and how many INT's did Smith throw in that game, and on top of that......how did he do vs. other big East schools? They lost 3 games, 1 to LSU, and the other 2 to whom??????????????
Anyone that thinks the 5th ranked quarterback in his league deserves the Heisman, is a fool. Luck was there because of his daddy and his daddy's connections. He is good, but not near as good as others. Brandon Weeden was a MUCH better choice. To top that off, Griffin and Baylor were completely destroyed by OSU. 49-3 at the half, enough said. I am glad Griffin got it though.
Classy speech from a classy guy. Definitely well deserved. Unparalleled athleticism, and was the sole reason for Baylor's 9-3 season. Great wins over TCU, #5 Oklahoma, and dominating a top ten defense in Texas. For those who think he would have been dominated in the SEC....well give him SEC offensive linemen, receivers, and tight ends, and he would be just as dynamic! Holds the all time record for passing efficiency and over 2,000 rushing yards.. See ya at the Alamo Bowl RGIII!
@Arbiter0fGod The Alamo Bowl??? You are the most outstanding player, and you can't even lead your team to a Jan. bowl game? He is good, but T-Rich deserved it, and can we please stop with the A. Luck talk? That guy is not even better than Barkley. This was a joke, and it's also good to point out that the South even hate on T-Rich. They know 'Bama will win the BCS title, so they didn't want to give too much to the Tide, but this was just blatant hate.
@Arbiter0fGod Baylor played this so-called tough schedule, but RGIII won the award vs. a bad.....a very bad Texas team, and his biggest game, his team got whipped. You can't just overlook how horrible Baylor was in the biggest game, by saying, he played good and had video game numbers. This is the Big 12 dude, T. Tech has a QB that can throw for 4,000 yards, because the conference sux! Trent deserved it, but it's over now. This kid isn't the most outstanding though, period!
@jejesdad And why Did Trent Deserve it? 'Cus he's in the SEC? If a RB deserved it this year the dude was wearing a different color red and was from Wisconsin. Breaking (he will in the bowl game) the single season record for TD's as a running back heavily outweighs a 20TD SEC guy. Alabama only played 4 teams with winning records, so don't get all giddy about Baylors schedule. Lol
@pkdice2 The SEC has nothing to do with it. I look at the BIGGEST game each team played, and if you compare the top 3 vote getters in their BIGGEST game, Trent was the only 1 that showed up. Oregon took apart an overrated Stanford team, Okie S
@pkdice2 .....State was up by 46 at the half, and when 'Bama played LSU, Trent racked up 169 total yards. Tell me what other RB did that vs. LSU this year? Baylor played a lot of scrubs that 'Bama would destroy, so don't give me that. The computer have the Big 12 at #1, but computers don't watch games, and computers haven't done much to stop the SEC over the last 5 years, and won't do it in a few weeks either. Alamo Bowl for a reason!
@jejesdad Ok State should be in the National Championship for one. And you're basing it on ONE game. Its the whole season, ya LSU's D is pretty damn good, but BAMA played 3 real teams all year and his numbers were not very impressive for that schedule. Especially since he was their ONLY offense. Honestly without Richardson i still see BAMA as top 5 in the nation. Without RG3, Baylor maybe MAYBE wins 4 games. And to top that off, name ONE other player that did what Ball did, Ohya it was Sanders.
@pkdice2 I hear your argument, but Okie St. in the BCS Title game would be a complete joke. All you had to do was focus on Blackmon, and Weeden can't run away from that rush defense at all. The BCS got it right, and you'll see when 'Bama beats LSU in a few weeks. The Heisman isn't about if you took this player off this team.....it's about how the player represents the school, and them being the most outstanding, and Trent was consitent. 'Bama would be 13-0 if they had Baylor's schedule.
@jejesdad Dude, reading your argument with Andrew.. U are so SEC biased trying to talk you out of your ridiculous opinion would be like trying to break a wall with a butter knife. And i guess we will never know about OK State playing any of those guys, BCS made sure of that to keep the 100% guarantee that they keep their "5 year status". Probably just scared to lose it, its all about money. None more coming from the SEC these days.
@pkdice2 All Okie St. had to do was beat ISU. They didn't, so they don't get that chance. The BCS is designed to put 1 vs. 2 and they got it right. I actually think 'Bama is the best team in CFB, and it's not about me being biased, as opposed to having common sense. You probably have a favorite team, and if you're realistic you'd know that 'Bama and LSU would whip your team easily!
@jejesdad OSU vs ISU was a messed up situation, their whole gameday routine was completely thrown out the window due to the plane crash. Sure you'll probably just say it is "just an excuse". But seriously, football players are creatures of habit, same warmpup, same mental walkthrough, same everything every saturday. Athletes throughout campus, regardless gender or sport, all talk. Those guys prolly texted girls from that team all day. And after WVU pushed LSU to the brink, I think OSU would too.
@jejesdad And based on this, you're probably a Bama fan. Either that or some Cellar-dweller SEC team. Regardless of the rest of this, my statement was RG3 deserved it WAY more than Richardson, thats why he won it. Finally the best performer won it, not the #1 guy on the #1/2 team. Human highlight reel vs Richardson's 20 TD's (Half of Ball's)
@pkdice2 Human Highlight Reel???????? Check out his highlights vs. T. Tech, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State and tell me where the highlights are???? His biggest game was vs. Okie St. and he dropped the ball, and Trent's biggest game vs. LSU, he performed better than most would have, especially RG III so keep it real! Richardson deserved it, but he didn't win it, and he'll prove it vs. LSU (1ce again in a few weeks). We'll see RG III pad his stats in the Alamo Bowl vs. Washington, lol
@jejesdad Lol, key word there is "most" would have done. Gotta be the best performer in the land, period. Nobody outperformed RGIII all year. Richardson is good, but he didn't even get in the endzone against LSU. Heck, he didn't even get close. But, like I said earlier, one game shouldn't win it for you or lose it for you. His stats for the season (Half of which he had more TD's than in-completions). Richardson had like one run (Ole Miss) that you would even put on plays of the year.
@pkdice2 How many RB's did anything vs. LSU? This guy had 169 all purpose yards, and will do that and more on Jan. 9th. You still haven't answered my question as to what happened vs. Oklahoma State? He got a lot of garbage time yards and the game was OVER at halftime! Was he outstanding then? What about vs. T. Tech? How was he so outstanding in that game? I'm just waiting, that's all. Beating TCU, Texas, and OU is nothing to really brag about, lol.
@jejesdad okay, ya he had a bad game or two. But nobody outplayed him all season.. 169 total yards doesn't mean a damn thing if he doesn't get in the endzone. I saw WVU put up like 500 total yards and points against that same D.. So quit hanging your hat on the LSU game. Lol, and you never answered my question... Are you or aren't you a BAMA fan? Cus you're either that, or a jealous cellar dweller lover.
@jejesdad Because RGIII plays defense and is responsible for how many points the opposing team scores on us? Even in his worst days he still put up videogame numbers. There was no bias through any of this. RGIII simply had the best stats, played on the 9th hardest schedule in the nation, and was the most valuable player to his team. More so than to any other respective player.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Should have been Andrew Luck. RG3 cried like a little bitch during the KSU game getting hit in and out of the pocket. I lost all respect for him being a pussy in that game.
@Maverick0420 lol Yeah I like RG3 but i wanted either Andrew Luck or Trent Richardson..... if Griffin wouldn't have won it this year I think he might have returned next year to win it.
@Xxxl0n9hornsxxX No, Luck had his chance. RGIII was the best player on the field this year. Think about it, without Luck Stanford is okay. Without Richardson Bama would be just fine (and maybe even in the same spot). Without RGIII? Baylor is...well Baylor. Kendall Wright is pretty damn good, but RGIII is their guy.
@Maverick0420 RG3 beat Luck statistically in every way. Better QB rating, better yards, and faced harder opponents. Even in the OSU, A&M, and K State game Griffin put up great numbers. Luck never had a Heisman moment either.
Logically, you have a valid point, however, can you really sit back and say that Trent HIMSELF is a good player, or is he on a good team and they win many games? The heisman is an individual award, and as far as the nation sees it, Robert earned the award virtually alone. The Baylor defensive line is nothing, but griffin still held his own. That's what the Heisman is about. One, lone stiff arm.
Who the hell has Baylor played? No one. When you rush over 100 yards in every game but 1 or 2 and 6 of the teams you have played have ranked defenses and you still do that? You deserve Heisman. Baylor has played Rice and teams like that? Really? See what happens when they play a half decent team? Oklahoma State? LMFAO! No one likes the SEC because we smoke everyone's ass. It's all good Trent. You know you deserve it.
@1972mgoblue and what good team has Denard went up and actually played good. he throws ints every game and is more of a runner than a passer. ive watched him play hes not even the best QB in his own damn conference letalong the entire nation

Xxxl0n9hornsxxX 2 months ago

@Maverick0420 Wow shame on you..sounds like you don't really know much about him

@Maverick0420 Was he really crying? If so, so what? He still has a Heisman. Surely something you can't have lol

Should of been montee ball

@rizziyan

I figured it would be him or Montee Ball. I congratulate R.G. III. Great season.

You know you deserve it.
rizziyan 2 months ago
@rizziyan haters gonna hate. if he deserved it than he would have won it.

RG3 is awesome, but I think it should of been Trent Richardson. Now that guy is amazing!
