Gotta love the Spyder's looks. I like the idea of having that car stripped out but still comfortable to drive around town. Though it's a bit painful to pay an extra for air conditioning especially when you live in a tropical climate. No need to have PDK for that one, coz driving stick is fun!

A lot of people say the Spyder is not suited to be a daily driver.

Why is that? Although hard to put up/down, I think the roof keeps out the rain.

I can't think of a better way to start every day than driving that to work.

I heard 0-60 with PDK and chrono is more like 4.5 seconds.

Porsche is the absolute king for me. This car, regardless of what any reviews say will be worth a TON of money in about 30 years if someone kept a mint version. It will be this generation's 955 Spyder. Even Jerry Seinfeld who owns one of the most amazing Porsche collections ever says it's one of his all time favorites.

I think most people here are missing the point. This car is in no means supposed to be practical. It is a 3rd or 4th car for a wealthy individual--- a toy. More driver focused immediately pummels the senses-- purity of function, similar to a 550 spyder or a 356 speedster. This car is just about get the revs up and forgetting the niceities. Perhaps in this current economic climate such a vehicle is construed as frivolous--- pay more, get less, go faster.

I don't know if the Cayman is better, it's just a Boxster with a roof. Strange how they charge more for the Cayman when other manufacturers charge more for the convertible version of a car, but it does have more power.

In Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson says that the Boxster is more fun to drive than the Cayman, since the steering feel is more crisp. I haven't driven either myself though.

Surprised its 0-6 time is so low 5.1s. While many aren't as agile - there are lots of other cars out there thatll do that for much less and still give you an extra set of seats.
