For those of you who like to know these thingsthis was filmed at Castell Coch (Red Castle) a Victorian folly about 7 miles north of Cardiff.

Castell Coch was built by the architect Burgess as a weekend 'fun place' for the Marquis of Bute who owned and developed most of what is now modern Cardiff.

It was rumoured that there was a tunnel linking it to Cardiff Castle but this is legend rather than fact.

The place is often used asa film or TV set to this day.

Point #1, Connery was by far the best, but Craig is absolutely above all others i.e. Moore, Lazenby, Brosnin, Daton, which is not at all bad.

Point #2 Thunderball IS the best Bond song followed by OHMSS title song.

'Moonraker' is the greatest Bond film, sorry. The Bond films have two distinct modes. The Connery era tends to take itself a bit too seriously but has the most presence and style, where the Moore era was like a good parody of the Connery era, and the Dalton era was like a coma.

Practically all the songs on TV variety shows back then were pre-recorded especially for the show, then lip-synced. It was much easier & cheaper to record it once in a studio, than risk messing up in front of a live audience.
