  • @techcentury yup, it's a good machine by the way, you'll love it and enjoy

  • @tedinoxford Oh yes, definitely.

  • It's funny though. Last time, people said LG screen on the MacBook Pro is superior to Samsung. Now on the MacBook Air people said the other way round.

  • @tedinoxford I assume this might be the case because LG and Samsung are the best manufacturers for panels anyways but the quality probably differs from panel to panel and either one you have, both are still very good.

  • LG screen is brighter but has flatter color. Samsung screen is dimmer but has richer color. I guess it's even.

  • @tedinoxford That definitely sounds like it but on the LG you can adjust the colors with a custom color profile. There is nothing that you can do against reduced brightness.

  • Thank you Sebastian! it helped my Macbook Pro screen.

  • @Jaysondk You are very welcome! It is awesome that this also helps on the MacBook pro.

    Thank you for watching.

  • @harryboggart Oh I see, thank you for the explanation. I will definitely check out this software.

  • I wish they had the display profile on the iPhone and iPad because the same thing is happening with the current models.

  • @JSantana319 It is? I have not heard about that yet.

  • @TechCentury The screens on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are more yellow because of the color temperature being warmer than it's predecessors.

  • @JSantana319 Oh ok, did not notice that yet, will compare it to my old iPhone 4. Thanks.

  • I have an LG display but there is no other colour profile… what should I do?

  • @11FSE11 Hi, I will upload a tutorial on how to get the correct color profile tonight.

  • @harryboggart Eye One Match? Is it a color calibration tool?

  • how do i find the monitor id?

  • @Danny77uk Hey, you have to open the terminal application and then copy and paste this text:

    ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Then it will show your screens id.

  • Dude, you just got a new Macbook air which everyone don't have or cant afford. just use it and stop finding problems or someone would want to have what you have -____-"

  • @007tigerboys But if you paid the same amount of money on a product to get something of lesser quality, wouldn't you be upset too?

  • @thefuf99 Thank you very much for having my back, I appreciate it.

  • @007tigerboys

I'm pretty sure the Macbook Air is a VERY popular computer, therefore, there will be people who run across this issue.

  • @doompod Thank you very much for the support!

  • @007tigerboys Hey, I really see your point and I can understand it very well.

Fact is, I am not rich, if that was the case and money would not matter I would not bother about those issues.

But the truth is that I am not rich. I work 40 hours a week and saved all my money so that I could afford this machine so I expect the best for this big amount of money that I worked really hard for. That is why I am upset.

I hope you can understand that.

  • I have both the Samsung SSD and Display. I have seen some reports where the LG display was better... possibly LGs quality is not as consistent as Samsung. It is understandable for Apple to have more than one OEM supplier but it is unfortunate that they do not optimize each system depending on the on-board components.

  • @DanCdn Yes it definitely is legit that Apple uses different suppliers but as you mentioned they should optimize the systems.

It is great that you have the Samsung SSD and display.

  • I did this on my iMac in system preferences.

  • @TJC450 Yes thats the last step, for the LG display of the hair you have to download a specific color profile though.

  • Text in the video: ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Thanks for the vid mate, mine luckily says LTH*****... :) as I already have the Toshiba SSD...

  • @americanidiot2921992 I am glad that you have the Samsung screen, sucks that you have the toshiba SSD.

Thanks for posting the code, somehow YouTube did not want it to appear in the description.
