Starfox Adventures was a disappointing Star Fox game, but as an adventure game, it was pretty fun to play, and the graphics were extremely good for it's time.
Still wished Dinosaur Planet was released, though.
Every time I watch these trailers, I get these excitements, oh I can't wait for it to come out and then I realise, it's never coming out or already released.
This good looking game for the n64 turned into the best starfox game in the series, and i can only remind you that critics nowadays only talk about formula and new features dat bullshit or else its a dissapointing game or game could be better in 2008..(dats what gt's goty said about skyward sword) and Adventures took the risk on foot! later new ideas with guns, landmasters and arwing mix in Assault. that makes this game so awesome ;) i wish a new Star Fox Adventures for Wii U!
i still dont get how would the switch stone would have worked out either the player would have switched characters as an option or by storyline like in starfox adventures?
The Reason Why Dinosaur Planet Got Cancelled Is Because The Nintendo 64 Was Almost Done. By That I Mean Nintendo Was About To Move On To The Next Sytem. Conker's Twelve Tails / Quest Was Cancelled Because People Gave It Criticism For Being a Kids Game Like Banjo.

Who at Rare is known for being part of the game's development? I'd like to ask them if there are beta cartridges of Dinosaur Planet, and if they can put it up on Virtual Console.
1. No one puts up unfinished games on the Virtual Console.
2. Rare is owned by Nintendo, even if Rare wanted to put up an unfinished game, Microsoft wouldn't let them.
3. Even if someone owned a beta cart, they couldn't release it themselves. All three companies would have to agree to it.
4. Nintendo does not release unfinished games. They have Star Fox 2, 99.9% complete, or 100% complete if they used the fan-worked copy, but they won't release it on the Virtual Console.

@Arkus I share this opinion 100%. Star Fox Adventures is one of the best games ever made. It got a bit rushed since they turned it into Star Fox late in development, but still, it is amazing.
@TheFoxshot This game would never be put on the Xbox Live Arcarde, because since these game was combined with StarFox Krystal, Tricky, and all of Dinosaur Planet became property of Nintendo after Microsoft bought Rare. This is proven to true because Krystal, Tricky and Planet Sauria where in StarFox Assult in which Rare had no involvement. Krystal was also in StarFox Command.
but graphically on gamecube is super Impressive! The star fox change was ok, but it removed Krystal from being the main role. I think they should have made them connect each other. Like Krystal doing something in one place, and fox doing something in another. Half game for her and half game him and in the end she gets trap and fox saves her.
I looks like so much of this game had already been completed! I wish this game could have been released. If there were a ROM available, I'd definitely go download it!
Also, Krystal deserved to have her own game franchise, instead of being just a starfox character...

That said, the game still wouldn't have been completed until after the release of the gamecube. It would be pointless for Rare and Nintendo to release a N64 game when the GameCube was recently released. Anyway, Star Fox or no Star Fox, it's a great game, and I'm glad they moved it to the gamecube.
Hmm...I have notice something about the company RareWare. When you let them play around with thier own creativity, You get great games Like banjo kazooie and Conker's. But when you make em settle down and work on sumtin you get grabbed by the ghoulies. I think microsoft should just let rare be rare. And let them experiment like the good ole days at nintendo.

I'm glad that the game or remake of the game i guess came out on gamecube. Much better graphics. I wish that they would have put like a demo or something of the original dinasaur planet in the game too though.
Most of the stuff in this trailer made it inot the final game with slight variations (location redesign, fox taking over from crystal). But even the enemies are the same. In fact the only thing I noticed that didn't make it into the final game is the desert scene at 0:46, which is cool considering the trailer was made a while before the game's release.
True...though...she would have had more of a personality and reason to be a main character they would have stuck with the true idea. It disappoints me that a character like her went to waste as a damsel in distress rather than a hero like she was intended to. I would have preferred this.
Just because she was a damsel in distress doesnt mean she was never a hero. She decided to take General scales head on, and took the chance to investigate Sauria. Shes a warrior that knows how to take charge of the situation. Just because she was put into the damsel in distress position doesnt entirely mean thats all she was.
She was a warrior...but sadly took the role of a damsel in distress. Meaning that even though she did try to do something with good intentions, she failed to finish what she started. I know it wasn't her fault she was stuck in the crystal, but sadly I'm talking about that she had a MUCH bigger role originally. I'm just stating that a character shouldn't be reduced to fanservice. And sadly...that's what Krystal became now.
she split up with fox after assult so nobody cares about her now, but i agree with Mewlon. in this game she plays a bigger, more important role, and when they changed it to starfox adventures, she was still there but now she was cast aside to let the starfox franchise rule the game.
this game had animals that resembled the star fox series. nintendo witnessed the similarities and begged rare to replace that fox you talk about in 0:51-0:56, with fox mccloud just for experimentation. rare and nintendo liked it and they changed many of the characters into star fox characters instead. but that fox in this trailer was not yet fox mccloud.
because they totally re-created it and made it a part of the Nintendo owned Star Fox franchise thus meaning Rare couldnt take it with them when Nintendo made a shit load of money selling off a crappy company whose best employees had already left. :P
Dinosaur planet was originally planned to be a krystal only game for the N64, having nothing to do with starfox at all. since it was scrapped, besides the grapical update and it being a starfox game, the whole thing was the same

actually I read up on the original plan for this game. It was originally intended to be seperate from the StarFox universe. I think that is her brother(?) instead. The adding this to the starfox universe came at a later date I think
WHATEVER. This beta looks better than the game they actually developed. Back when you actually PLAYED as Krystal, rather than saving her scrawny ass after 15 minutes of gameplay because Nintendo thinks damsels in distress are great concepts because they never got any back in the day. :I
The original concepts looked pretty awesome. I heard the only reason Star Fox was attached to the title was because Nintendo wanted an SF game for the Gamecube's launch but didn't have the development time. They then turned to Rare, changed around Dinosaur Planet with some Star Fox stuff, and then released it like that (though it didn't end up making launch like they originally hoped).I'm actually one of the people who liked SF Adventures, but it probably would have been better w/o the SF stuff.

I really enjoyed Star Fox Adventures. Probably one of my favorite GC games. I like how it gave a unique twist to the Star Fox series. I wish they had also made this game as well. I would be really interesting to compare both of these games.

Sabre was not fox. I remember reading it was ultimately Miyamotos decision to drop the original Dinosaur Planet consept and replace it with StarFox characters, one of his worst calls ever I recon... Sure it would've still been a Zelda clone, but atleast with an interesting own universe and characters instead of this rather glued on feel with Fox McCloud & co.

I wish Microsoft would just let Rare do what they wanna do instead of making them work on what they tell them to. I mean just let them experiment. Maybe we'll get another big hit like Star Fox Adventures. They did pretty good on that game. Who knows though. Maybe a great epic sequal to Diddy Kong Racing. I want the old rare back. They shaped my childhood with great classic like the DKC series. You couldn't get me away from my TV back in those days!

I'm glad that the game or remake of the game i guess came out on gamecube. Much better graphics. I wish that they would have put like a demo or something of the original dinasaur planet in the game too though.

Most of the stuff in this trailer made it inot the final game with slight variations (location redesign, fox taking over from crystal). But even the enemies are the same. In fact the only thing I noticed that didn't make it into the final game is the desert scene at 0:46, which is cool considering the trailer was made a while before the game's release.

True...though...she would have had more of a personality and reason to be a main character they would have stuck with the true idea. It disappoints me that a character like her went to waste as a damsel in distress rather than a hero like she was intended to. I would have preferred this.

Just because she was a damsel in distress doesnt mean she was never a hero. She decided to take General scales head on, and took the chance to investigate Sauria. Shes a warrior that knows how to take charge of the situation. Just because she was put into the damsel in distress position doesnt entirely mean thats all she was.

She was a warrior...but sadly took the role of a damsel in distress. Meaning that even though she did try to do something with good intentions, she failed to finish what she started. I know it wasn't her fault she was stuck in the crystal, but sadly I'm talking about that she had a MUCH bigger role originally. I'm just stating that a character shouldn't be reduced to fanservice. And sadly...that's what Krystal became now.

she split up with fox after assult so nobody cares about her now, but i agree with Mewlon. in this game she plays a bigger, more important role, and when they changed it to starfox adventures, she was still there but now she was cast aside to let the starfox franchise rule the game.

this game had animals that resembled the star fox series. nintendo witnessed the similarities and begged rare to replace that fox you talk about in 0:51-0:56, with fox mccloud just for experimentation. rare and nintendo liked it and they changed many of the characters into star fox characters instead. but that fox in this trailer was not yet fox mccloud.

Dinosaur planet was originally planned to be a krystal only game for the N64, having nothing to do with starfox at all. since it was scrapped, besides the grapical update and it being a starfox game, the whole thing was the same

actually I read up on the original plan for this game. It was originally intended to be seperate from the StarFox universe. I think that is her brother(?) instead. The adding this to the starfox universe came at a later date I think

The original concepts looked pretty awesome. I heard the only reason Star Fox was attached to the title was because Nintendo wanted an SF game for the Gamecube's launch but didn't have the development time. They then turned to Rare, changed around Dinosaur Planet with some Star Fox stuff, and then released it like that (though it didn't end up making launch like they originally hoped).I'm actually one of the people who liked SF Adventures, but it probably would have been better w/o the SF stuff.

I really enjoyed Star Fox Adventures. Probably one of my favorite GC games. I like how it gave a unique twist to the Star Fox series. I wish they had also made this game as well. I would be really interesting to compare both of these games.

Personally I wanted to see Star Fox 2(why the hell did they cancel that anyways?) that got canceled, and see what they got there. I didn't really like Star Fox Adventure's in the first place... I don't think this should have became a Star Fox game... I mean sure I guess this would be good for the storyline, other than that... I don't really like this Star Fox game, I thought it should have kept going... and sure I wouldn't have minded if Dinosaur Planet got released hell if it got sequls and prequls, by all means thats good for them... I don't think Star Fox mixed well with this... nor do I think it should have...

It was not supposed to be a StarFox game at all.That name came from Sabre Wolf one of their past games.N64 version would have been better than the Gamecube one I bet.=) Nintendo forced them to screw up the story, destroy the planet for some not so fun space sequences,and put Fox in a senerio that no gamer wanted him in the first place. Starfox Adventures was STILL pretty good.Dinosaur Planet on N64 could have been BETTER, had Nintendo kept out of Rares business.

I remember reading it was ultimately Miyamotos decision to drop the original Dinosaur Planet consept and replace it with StarFox characters, one of his worst calls ever I recon... Sure it would've still been a Zelda clone, but atleast with an interesting own universe and characters instead of this rather glued on feel with Fox McCloud & co.

They woulda made a killing on this... But it's like Animal Crossing, they would've needed a Disk Drive function to increase the processor of the N64...
Also, the fact that they were furries made Nintendo change it to Star Fox. Good to know that Nintendo still cared!
