The Panther was the right balance of protection and firepower. I would dearly love to command a KonigsTiger but I would also love to drive a Panther. But I guess that the one I would love to have parked in the driveway would be a Tiger 1.
It was said the sophisticated Panther tank had exhaust ducts to extract the choking gas directly from the gun breech to outside of the tank enabling the crew work more efficient inside the tank instead of let the gas spread around inside & choked the crew before extracted w/ doom fan. eg the Sov. T34 & IS2 tanks.
For importation the beck end of the breech has to completely severed with a cutting torch. There are people that have the permits required to own guns of this size, but to the best of my knowledge if it is imported into the U.S. no matter how historic or rare, it has to be cut before importation. There's no exceptions for rarity... In the U.K for example I think it's possible to own a complete un-cut breech ring, but in the U.S. it requires a special permit.
We can't fire any sort of round through this gun (or any of our others) because the breech ring has been torched apart to meet U.S. specs for importation and then tacked back together to look original. There is also a 75mm hole torched in the high pressure area of the gun tube. The sliding block is also fake and missing all the firing pin features. Sorry for the disappointment....
The breech lever is Very stiff. Is this ,cos it is brand new and needs time to soften. I would pity the gunner in combat if he had to use two hands every time.
if you had a live round? would this gun fire? great video.

Quite ingenious with the compressed air blowing the fumes out of the barrel!
Will the breach automatically open after a shot has been fired, like it does on the Leopard 2? I would assume so.

Panthers favorite snack was a Sherman or T-34 tank, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, yummy!

Dose the breech open on its own after the round is fired to eject the spent shell and be ready for reload?
