On Hindsight Oprah may consider she made a mistake, even as a business Woman. Iyanla Sells "Own" right now. Oprah being the strongest Business mind of the two could have done things differently and taken Iyanla under her wing instead of persecuting her.

Oprah did not have to let her go. She could have seen Iyanla's desire and start to groom her toward that direction. If God said it was the anointed time it could have been with Oprah. The show did not have to air the next day. I think Oprah wants to always be in charge and anyone challenging her or trying to redirect her intentions will not be tolerated. Letting Iyanla go was not the answer. It was ego on Oprah's part. All she had to do was sit down and set and plan goals with Iyanla.

Iyanla said, "I couldn't receive it...I didn't know what it was". That's the key phrase of the whole conversation. They were trying to groom her for a multiracial national audience and Iyanla simply wasn't ready. Unfortunately, she didn't know it and missed her opportunity, then. i've never ever heard such bs in my life. when God gives us a gift its just as good as the gift of parenthood. None come with a set of concrete rules. gifts come with faults, failures, happiness and sunshine filled days but when your gift is birthed at whatever point in time God will see that its bought to light. Someone had to nurture Queen Oprah so Oprah should have willfully nurtured/mentored Queen Iyanla. maybe Queen Oprah saw Queen Iyanla as a good fit for her show but a threat as well

I like the brotha on the phone. Oprah is worshiped and I don't worship any man or woman on this earth. She is a corporate entity. Like Paul Mooney said, oprah is a danger to us(blacks). In 2004, Oprah “gave” 276 people in her audience brand new cars. The cars were actually donated by Pontiac, but of course Oprah got the rush of publicity surrounding the event.

A week later, CNN Money reported that none of those winners could keep the cars unless they were able to cough up thousands of dollars to cover taxes. The $28,500 value of the cars was taxable income - the only way to avoid the taxes was to forfeit the car.

What Iyanla said was, "It was the anointed TIME, not the appointed TIME". Any whoo... My heart really goes out to her because she had no idea of how to handle that situation. But I do believe she attempted to force Harpo's hand in this whole matter. What I don't respect is how she brought God into it... Bad move anyway you slice it. I'm certain she's learned from this experiance.... She'll be alright.

Iyanla really messed herself up when she tried to force Harpo Studio's hand by telling them to tell Oprah " I'm the anointed one, not the appointed one ". If she would've been more patient and trusted Oprah that she wasn't ready yet and needed more time, she would have her own Talk Show still today. Her show would've been like a Mcdonald's Franchise with Harpo Studios and Oprah Winfrey being the Parent Company, or crutch.

Iyanla did have her own Talk Show. I remember watching it. It didn't last one season. It bombed, and she lost her house because, as she stated " I didn't realize I had to pay the same amount in taxes ". She lost her cars and everything else. She went into a depression and later tried to contact Oprah to get another chance, but to no avail.

Iyanla seems like the type of person that shoots off her mouth without realizing who it might hurt. In this case, her mouth ruined her chances of a Talk Show under the tutelage of Oprah, and her mouth ruined her marriage when she was originally on the show and told the audience that her husband "He broke! He ain't got no money".

Oprah thought she was not ready and Iyanla thought she was. If Oprah thought she was not and needed grooming so to speak. It would be Oprah's money that would be lost not Iyanla's. She seems to not take responsibilty for anything. She did not pay for insurance because she didn't like how much she had to pay. It was not her fault when she lost her house because the bank wanted her balloon payment. She made that plan. She thought she would have the money.

Oprah is a business woman.
