90s were kick ass. These days you pretty much just have to move to the places that seem more like the 90s with style and not move to the places in with the right now lol.
@MrRuigni where the hell do you find places like that? I live in Iowa and every one keeps up with the all the latest crap around here.....I miss the 90's.
amusing story, according to David Lowery, when Palmer was asked if he would be able to play along with the songs, he gave Lowery a look and said, 'I invented this shit.'
I'd have to agree with this great song that defined my time of growing up, I still listen to it and love it. But my generation is a buch of sellouts and fuckin retards.
So true, Nestaron, I've always thought the same thing. Perhaps one of the more underrated songs of its time as well. But music was in the midst of changing at this point. The alt./grunge rock era was sadly ending
I here you that that one of the dudes in that band looks allot like the origanal muchmusic vjs and all of that kind of shit. And please say anything you want to say text commenting my videos that is. And know its a free country to say anything you want to say and knowing I dont care what people say on my videos and all of that shit. Just want to tell you for the hell of it I am looking for a girlfriend on facebook only that is ages 18-26 that lives in or near Nashville Tennessee and all of that.
Technically Cracker's gerneration are baby boomers....The generation to hate is in fact, my generation (X). However, generation Y sucks that much more.

There is some great music you just have to look for it! White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kooks, Fratellis, etc. Check out the Kooks & The Fratellis there two awesome U.K. bands.
I have to disagree. I think this song was the beginning of problem times for CRACKER. It wasn't radio friendly, so as a follow to LOW and GET OFF THIS....this sunk them. Not to mention The CD it came from, The Golden Age, was no Kerosene Hat or Cracker (their previous two releases).
Okay song, but they should have released another song from the album to get more radio support and be more radio friendly. They have never recovered from this in my opinion.
And don't get me wrong. I have EVERY one of their cd's and C.V.B.'s. So it's an observation. They are my second favorite band of all time and having seen them live twice...they kick it up a notch there.
Ah the memories. I love this song so much and when I found out about this song of course in 96. lol I was 14 and I started staying up late watching MTV and it appeared on a show called alternative nations. Every time I see this video and hear this song, it reminds me of that time.
Mid 90s....man, everyone was taking that dark, quirky, "alternative" route with their music and style.
Shit, I remember even Chris Isaak got in on it with "go walking down there". It was like elements of Beck and Nirvana were in pretty much every song made.
Get past the match game, who doesn't echo the music the past? I love some of the Clash stuff, and that's what I hear reflections from. THIS is rockin in the free world. Thank you Cracker. I find this song cathartic. It's all right
Sounds to me like Cracker was parodying some of the excesses of grunge music, not to mention themselves and yes, their generation. Put more clearly, sounds to me like they're making fun of the whole "life sucks and everything's a bitch" mode that a lot of Gen X kiddies were indulging in.
Side note: The old black dude playing drums in this video? That's Earl Palmer who played on many tunes by Fats Domino, Little Richard and more. Asked if he could play this beat he said "I invented this shit."
satan -- thanks for the info about that drummer, I thought he looked a little too comortable!! And totally agree with your assesment of the video's meaning. Cracker was in no means poking fun at the senior's -- just the opposite.
As far as I know, they are still around. I know they were around last year because I saw them live. Their web site doesn't seem to indicate they are finished.
Legendary drummer, Earl Palmer, can be seen near the end of this video.
According to Cracker leader David Lowery, when Palmer was asked if he would be able to play along with the songs, he gave Lowery a look and said, "I invented this sh*t.'"
