  • GO IRELAND!!!

  • I never knew these had such a nice light trigger pull. Mine must be a lemon lol.

  • This revolver has served me well, I trust it a lot more than a little pocket 380

  • This revolver fits in my hand cleanly. So I like it.

  • Thanx

  • Bright Orange Fingernail Polish on the Front Sight = 50% better accuracy.

Walmart sells a long lasting polish that won't wear off soon.

You don't have to buy fancy sight paint.

Get you Wife or GF to do it for you ...they understand fingernail polish.

The sights on the 642 suck but that changes with an easy DIY mod to the sights.

Oh...Bright Green polish on the Rear Sights.

You 642 shooters will thank me for this tip.

  • @shootcentermass I got mine for $451.00 new in the box w/lock. I saw one advertised for $399.00 on the web but I can't remember where. Mine did NOT have the Laser Grips. The Grips are about $200.00. On this "Snubby" I think the Laser is a waste of money. It's a "Belly Gun" pure and simple. Intended for self-defense at 25 ft. You won't shoot 3in groups at 25 yds with ANY "Snubby"..forget about it. Even with the Cylinder width it's still narrower than a 1911. Overall I love mine. Great Gun.
  • With a whole lotta practice you can get single action-like accuracy with staging the trigger.

  • kto kto fajny lewolwer

  • i purchase a s&w 442 looking at your videos you have alot of good information and it every helpful

  • I have this S&W (w/o the laser) and it IS a fine 2nd carry gun; HOWEVER,,, to use a speed loader their is one modification that will be needed. The cyl release lever / thumb push WILL NEED ALTERATIONS to allow the speed loader to clear it!!!!

Other than that it is a FINE, FINE pistol!

  • If they allowed firearms in Scotland the S&W would be my first choice or a Detonics Combatmaster or Scoremaster, but unfortunately I live in a semi Commie-nazi state where arseholes like that bastard cameron want to ban firearms of any kind, air rifles are pop-guns compared to the air rifles sold in the States (UK versions are 12-foot pounds) and they want to ban them for so-called 'Crimes' -yet more crime is committed by Illegal firearms in the Uk than any other weapons! yes, we know ur kind!

  • This is for all the people who want to ban guns. "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailant; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attack with greater confidence than an armed man" ( Thomas Jefferson Quoting Cesare Beccaria)

  • damn s&w can make a clean revolver

  • AMERICA - FUCK YEAH!

    GUNS- FUCK YEAH!

  • @tinghaling is actually trolling nutnfancy's videos. he is anti self-reliance

  • @kimberHD45 Actually the root of "Liberal" is the word "Liber", which is Latin for "free". Hence the word "Liberty".

Gun control = More Government Interaction = LESS Freedom.

So, tell me again, how is he a liberal? I believe it is you who must get your facts straight, my friend.

But, this wasn't supposed to be a political argument or history lesson, for that matter. My point was simply that he is clearly a political extremist.

  • @nelson149 Thanks for the lesson on the meaning of the root word, but I already knew that, and it doesn't have a f***ing thing to do with modern politics, moron. You NEED to explain why 97% of all elected LIBERAL politicians don't comprehend your understanding, and VOTE for RESTRICTIVE and OPPRESSIVE gun control laws? Obama, Biden, Dean, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Schumer, Bloomberg, are examples of LIBERALS (liber) who constantly battle against your freedoms. Get an education, son.

  • @kimberHD45 First of all, there is no need for contempt; the insults do not help you prove your point, they only negate the legitimacy or your argument. Believe it or not, you can actually express your views WITHOUT being condescending about it. (Most politicians haven't even realized that) Secondly, I reread my post and realized that I confused liberal with libertarian.

  • @nelson149 Some of us get sick and tired of the perpetual smear campaign, regardless of who was targeted. Yes, there is a huge difference between liberal and libertarian, and the only thing that negates the legitimacy of arguments is the lack of facts. I apologize for coming off as condescending and the insult.

  • @nelson149 Furthermore, this IS a gun forum, and politics DO need to be kept at a minimum. However, you made the false allegation that a liberal rant was conservative, and you clearly needed correction. I will charge nothing for your education.

  • @kimberHD45 Also, I think it is ironic that you are suggesting that politics be kept at a minimum, considering that you were the one who started the argument in the first place, after I made an error in a comment to ANOTHER USER. So I will repeat my previous statement: "But, this wasn't supposed to be a political argument or history lesson, for that matter. My point was simply that he is clearly a political extremist."

Good day to you, sir, and I hope I never have to deal with you again!

  • Ah!! You just pointed that gun at the camera!! you almost killed us all!!!!!

  • Price Reduced! I got one of these in november. Nice gun. I call mine the donkey. (It is small but it kicks hard!) Anyway I was just checking and the S&W website MSRP

has gone from $924 to $669. The online gun shop I got mine from went from $620 to $530. Nice to see things go down for a change.

  • Thanks for the great review!

  • 420$ at sportmans warehouse I think I found one for

  • got one

  • Good video, but the background sounds suck....whats with all the noise TV..and people talking....bad taste.

  • too many people underestimate the .38 spl

  • Yo how much is the smith&wesson model 60 thanks

  • pistol rounds underpowered? .44mag .357mag ap50?all very heavy rounds

  • SEALS

  • Funny how everyone thinks this is a girls gun or a starter gun. Fact, I carry this weapon in my waist band with no holster using a belt hook grip. Why? I can draw this gun faster than any semi-auto especailly my Glock 22. Remember, the person who fires the first shot wins....not the one with the largest gun or the most rounds. This guy wouldn't have a chance using a semi-auto vs a JFrame S&W....I would have a shot fired before he even touched his semi

  • The 1 inch barrel is ugly

  • @stripecast Not when you're looking for a weapon to pocket carry!

  • No never, I never shot anyone. I'm innocent. =)

  • does anyone know if you by a crimson trace laser grip for this gun will they include a screw for the grip. the one i have in the original grip is getting a little rusty and shitty looking.

  • @kddurp yes i just bought one for my charter 38 and it came with new screws. Hope this helps

  • @kddurp Yes you get the screw with it.

  • iv just bought one of them

  • Why would anyone buy one of these crappy pistols. Automatics for the win! I'd never own one of these pieces of true predicament. = )

  • @Sun6Tzu Youre a moron. Have you ever even shot a gun before? Sheesh...

  • btw, Smith and Wesson has a $50 mail in rebate on J frame revolvers until december 31, 2010. I just picked one up for $399 not counting the rebate. Nice lil pocket gun but i suggest the trigger job that Nutn talks about in another video. As always, Nutn, Great Job!

  • I want to get a small revolver for conceal carry but I'm afraid of the accuracy of those guns. I went to an indoor pistol range a couple months ago with my mom and we shot her new toures 38. special and at 15 feet i could barley keep it on paper, i was so pissed because I'm usually pretty accurate with what ever I'm shooting. Does anyone els know what im talking about or am i the only one who is inaccurate with revolvers

  • @plzfuckme1 Revolvers take practice to shoot well and the small revolvers need a whole lot of practice to shoot well. The 642 is very accurate, more accurate than we are. You can look up hickok45, he has a video of himself shooting the 642 airweight and he shoots a steel plate at 80 yards.

  • @captainkaos131313 lol i think i saw that video were he is hitting that 80 yard gong thing with that tiny little revolver!

  • can you buy a regular 642 and get the crimson trace grip for it seperate?

  • Hey Nutn, in this video or another one you did, you mentioned that the airweighth may or maynot be able to handle excessive firing of +p rounds. with that said, how do you think the airweight will fair over time being carried in your pocket. meaning, do you think that the constant tugging and pulling of your clothing against the gun and sometimes leaning or sitting on it while in your pockets could adversely affect the gun? Thanks in advance, love your videos!

  • Canada violent crime rate 951 per 100k people (2006). American violent crime rate is 455 violent crimes per 100k people (2008).

  • i have that gun but it doesnt have a lasr grip

  • @Flaven80 Yeah, that's real rational -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy It's really rational, if all the redneck gun nuts in the world shoot each other it would be a safer place. the only real reason for having a gun like this is because of the other nuts with guns like these. is this for hunting? what does anyone that is not law enforcement or military need a hand gun with a laser sight for? why don't you just walk around with a nuke in your pocket, i bet that would make you feel safe.

  • @Flaven80 No, its idiotic...not rational at all. You're saying guns cause violence, and that's idiocy in itself, but then then you advocate for shooting gun owners...wow, that's a violent approach. Kinda hypocritical, don't you think?

  • @Verilioness When did i say guns cause violence? i'm saying no one should have guns, how can people shot each other if no one has a gun? there would be a lot less crime if people didn't have guns to empower them, the whole point of ranged weapons is to lower the chance of the gun wielder being injured. gun vs knife it's hard to get cut when you can shot them before they get in range - knife vs knife there's a good chance you're going to get cut. try robbing a bank with a knife.

  • @Flaven80 Well you are living in a fantasy world. There IS no world where NO ONE can have guns. If you outlaw guns, only criminals will remain determined to access them...law abiding citizens won't...at that point, law abiding citizens become outnumbered by criminals with guns. You're are fantasizing.

  • Comment removed

  • @Flaven80 You live a really sheltered life. THE MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT ARE NOT ALWAYS THERE TO PROTECT YOU. In fact 99% of the time they won't be there to help, and will show up five mins late. You're a weakling that should have been weeded out by natural selection when you were an infant.

  • @PurpleNurpleUrple Did i say that you don't need a weapon for protection because the police or military will be there to save you? you're putting words in my mouth or you have poor reading comprehension. it's a fact, where there's no guns there's less crime and less fatal crimes. i'm lucky enough to live in a place where 99% of the population don't own concealable weapons, if in your mind that makes me "sheltered" or a "weakling" then you are far too ignorant for me to rationally converse with.

  • @Flaven80 How are you going to act like a troll and then try to call ME ignorant? Never mind bringing up rationality. Not only that, you also make the false assertion that no guns = less crime. Which studies in Britain show the opposite. A gun is a tool. It could be used for great good or great evil. Its up to the individual holding it.

  • @Flaven80 Fortunately for you, you've never been in a life threatening situation before, being that you most likely spend your days sitting in your high-rise condominium within a gated community reading articles on gun control in the New York Times. Why don't you get off your high horse and take off the rose-colored classes, my friend. The world is not a pretty place.

P.S. Why are you preaching your conservative beliefs in a comment for a gun review video? Where's the rationalism in that?

  • @nelson149 ...Flaven80 posts were NOT conservative...at all. He was talking like a liberal nutard. Get it straight.

  • Comment removed

  • @Flaven80 Why do legal gun owners need to rationalise our purchases to anti gunners? I just bought this gun and i target shoot with it. i like how it looks and feels. i dont plan to shoot anyone.

  • @MrDag4wd You just got the tail end of a 10 month old back and forth.

  • @nutnfancy its okay i am a gun nut. but yeah. i will be of ccw age soon and am looking for a handgun for concealed carry. ive been an outdoorsman and hunter and shooter my whole life, and am looking for a revolver. I wanted to get one in 32 SW long. I wanted to know your opinion on the cartridge. The older smiths seem to fit well, but id like to know ur opinion since I bought guns based on ur reviews before. thanks, terril

  • @nutnfancy By the way, don't worry about assholes like Flaven80. People like that are so miserable in their own lives' that the only way to improve their self-esteem is to make others miserable by attacking their beliefs. But, some of use still appreciate your reviews.

  • @Flaven80 haha whos the nut here?

  • @Flaven80 why don't you go leave comments on "brady bill" and other pro- liberal videos and leave us responsible gun owners alone. we are not the problem, it's the illegal gun owners that cause crime...the same sect of people that liberals like to subsidize...

  • @mvr6t If you're not a hunter, law enforcement, or military and you own a gun. you're in no way shape or form a responsible gun owner. you're a delusional gun owner.

  • @Flaven80 ... so, I guess then unles you are a cab driver you are in no way shape or form a responsible driver...? right...? LOL ...you are some funny dude, you know that , right?

  • @Flaven80 If you type in incomplete sentences by omitting subordinate clauses and needed punctuation, you're in no way, shape, or form in a position to tell others what constitutional rights they should and should not exercise.

  • @Flaven80 your right, we should have a totally corporate owned government that has private banks issue its currency with debt and slowly deteriorate our dollar while starting new wars take all our civilian owned guns away because they obviously only want the best for us.

You know what, keep your business to your own country "which from looking at your profile is Canada, which Queen Elizibeth (a ruthless monarch) shut down your legislature at will, so much for democracy huh?

  • @mvr6t

Guns go off the market, they go on the black market!

Liberalism in the hands of the worker is more useful than in the hands of the bourgois, which it usually does end up in. Don't think a leftist and a liberal are the same.

  • @Flaven80 That makes a ton of sense.

  • @Flaven80 eat it, hoplophobe. or maybe be a little more civil. or maybe just don't watch videos you don't like. it's pretty easy.

  • @Flaven80 Proof that an anti-gun mentality is actually a mental illness.

  • @Flaven80 All you fucking anti-gun nuts need to have your balls (considering you possess any) lopped off with a meat cleaver.

  • @RangerAirsoft101 Words of a future responsible gun owner.

  • @Flaven80 You're the one talking about people NOT owning guns! You're a hypocrite now too?

  • @RangerAirsoft101

Meat Cleavers don't kill people...people with Meat Cleavers kill people.

LOL...I hear you but it doesn't make us Gun users and owners look saner.

Taper off a little bit on disparaging remarks and bring the anti-gun bunch closer to understanding that we are NOT all crazy.

I took a strong and dedicated anti-gun 'Person' out to the range with me and before the afternoon was over he was a "Shooter".

He loved the experience and said he wanted me to help him choose a gun.

  • @hammerogod Was more making fun of his post than anything else lol.

  • the bullet diamiter of a .38 and a .357 is exalty the same. .357 of an inch. the diffrence between a .38 and a .357 is the shell caseing

  • I got my wife this model she carries it in her purse...lol

  • That isn't a pistol.

  • @AndThatsWhyYouFail pistol no. handgun yes. (my name revolverlover101 came from my favroite beatles album not the gun)

  • That ins't a pistol.

  • Are you able to reccommend a few revolvers for off duty and back up carry for an LEO. I have looked at some and there are just so many options out there. So far I've looked at and like the Ruger LCR, S&W 642 line, S&W 340 line. I am new to the revolver genre and would really appreciate some guidance or where to look for research on revolvers/models.

  • Unless you live in Compton or Detroit or some gangland area most people have never been shot before and just about any bullet besides maybe a .22 lr would be a shock to that criminal's system and I find these revolvers do the job great.

  • @34601k I would argue that even in Compton or Detroit, most people have never been shot before.

  • now take the pistol point it at a cop then pull the trigger make sure you have an M-16 a Barret .50 Cal and a At4-hs you never know what you need against cops that turn innocent people into mean crack babies

  • Love the Snubbies!

  • Just picked this one up and submited the 50 rebate. Its a good gun, I sold my 37 to go SS. No laser. This is a good gun that I would recomend, the Rohrbaugh is one of my pet peeves, its overpriced and you could pick up three of these for the price of this over priced over sold gun.

  • i like revolver ppl r more scared of em lol

  • Can you shoot your self in the foot like you cut your finger with the knife in the other video hahahah !

  • @SuperNobama1 In the other video, the knife came open on its own, he couldnt prevent that.

With a gun, you can prevent it doing anything like that.

  • @Kylef7735 kinda funny you think that way ..... You should look up " Dumbass DEA Agent " oh he could have bought a real knife . Any how he is crying over a little booboo like that wtf !! Maby if i stub my toe I can show it on utube. hahah

  • @SuperNobama1 Yea, the d.e.a, agent could have prevented that.

I just love in that video where the D.E.A. agent is like "Im the only person in this room who knows how to handle a gun"

And i dont know what you mean about "Crying over a little booboo" he didnt appear to be crying or in much pain either.

  • 4 pound trigger pull?????

  • Nice. Good info. Thanks.

  • Straight forward info this time, thanks!

  • I have the same gun and I love it its everything you would expcet from a Smith&Wesson. The trigger pull is 9lbs that is what it said on S&W website.

  • I have the same gun and I love it its everything you would expcet from a Smith&Wesson.

  • Why not just get a pellet dan wesson 8 revolver with metalbareings

  • Yeah Guns are great you Paranoid twit, they Kill people!

  • @tinghaling i dont need a gun to kill you.maybe if you had one you could defend yourself a little better....instead of getting beat to death by a 3ft bat

  • @farenht456

    3 ft Bat?!?!?!?

What the eFF are you talking about?

  • @tinghaling Cars kill people too. Should they not be great and fun? Should we ban all kitchen knives to just because they can kill?

    Your an idiot.

  • @Breakneckhydra1

    I'm an Idiot, really?

Can you please remind me at what point did I actually personally insult you?

    A car is a Vehicle that get's you from A to B.

A Kitchen Knife is a tool to help you cut things when you're cooking!

People buy them for their uses, these are not tool bought to kill somebody.

I know this might be hard for you to understand, as there are lots of words here, but I think you'll find a gun is only bought to be used to kill another person!

    Stop being paranoid

  • @tinghaling If so, then why haven't I killed someone with mine? Why haven't the competition shooters in IPSC (International Pistol Shooting Competition)? Why hasn't the guy in the video killed someone?

You offended me because your an idiot spouting blatant lies.

A gun is a tool, its job is to propel a projectile out of a barrel to hit an object, nothing more.

YOU are the one that needs to stop being paranoid about guns.

  • @Breakneckhydra1

Right, please forgive me, as I thought this was an open public forum to verbally speak your mind.

But once again, you choose to lower your intelligence by insulting me by calling me an idiot!

I have not insulted you at all, but because you lack in education and communication, you result to insults.

I actually feel sorry for you.

  • @tinghaling And of course, you say nothing to back up your argument because I destroyed your last comment. I called you an idiot because your LYING, I don't like liars. And now you insult me, "you lack in education and communication". So what, you can insult but I can't? Now not only are you an idiot, a liar, AND a hypocrite, I proved just HOW you are each.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Breakneckhydra1

Sorry I never responded earlier as I actually have a real life, and unlike you I choose not to troll the internet and argue with people, because unlike you I have intelligence.

Slightly unsure why you're calling me a Hypocrite and a Liar, but it's just more aggressive insults which shows your lack of education in the ability to communicate.

Good luck in life, I hope this attitude works out for you.

    Kind regards and peace.

  • @tinghaling And now your calling me a troll, yet you say I insult...wow. I explained why you are what you are, maybe your blind and can't read what I'm typing. How am I the troll, yet your the one that doesn't like guns yet you posted in on a gun video? YOUR the one trolling. Why did you remove your last 2 comments? Just proves your the one with no life that you have to make multiple responses before you remove them. Like I said, you're a HYPOCRITE, and lair about how guns are bought to kill.

  • @tinghaling if you think guns are so evil, then why are you watching a video about them????

  • how do you become a legal carrier

  • i don't like the look of the gun

  • @wassomkeithley

    Some troubles:

statistical studies demonstrate that countries with a large weapons diffusion have got more violent murders.

I believe in self defence and constitutional rights...obiouvsly i prefer that the job is done by professionals (cops, guards and so on) paid by taxes.

But you have to understand that this system is linked to guns manufacturers and sellers interests...and this is the ultimate reason for this weapons large diffusion.

  • @r1cc4rd000

Unfortunately/....the police come 'after' something bad has happened.

You cant carry a 'cop' with you as easily as you can carry a weapon.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of 'the people' to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

THE PEOPLE !!!...not the cops...not the army...THE PEOPLE !!!

Thats is the only gun control statement that has any relevance to humanity.

  • @951pete

unfortunately these are only nice words. THe reality is different.

The states with a large weapons diffusion among citizen have an higher number of murders. You can easily compare the reality of cities like Detroit or Miami with other big european cities.

I'm not a communist but we have to admit that this system is only for profit of those who work in this field... guns manufacturers, sellers etc etc.

  • @r1cc4rd000

I live in Chicago where we had a gun ban in effect for nearly 30 years.

Murders went up during the ban.

Truth is not nice. The second ammendment has nothing to do with being nice. Its all about our right and freedom here to defend ourselves from those who wish to harm us.

Those who would trade their freedom for security deserve neither.

  • Ok, my husband just bought me this exact gun for conceal carry - what IWB holster would you recommend? I'm thinking UBG - whats the general opinion on these?

  • @ElizabethIrish you might try a don hume IWB holster. I have one and it works great.

    Model: H715-M.S.O. O.T

  • im going to get a concealed carrier license and get somthing like this for protection

  • Comment removed

  • would a earlier S&W 442 be a bit too "old" for concealed carry, or should I stick with something else in terms of S&W J frame revolvers?

  • this gun reminded me when i went shooting with my cousin (owner of the gun) he missed 4 shots at the bottle at 30 yrds. i popped it with one . and that was my 1st time using a gun ever it was so funny

  • Lightweight Security my ass

  • @Isuk1337 a gun could save your life if you're being abducted, attacked, assaulted, raped...and it's not that easy to buy a gun legally. you need to submit to several checks. it would be impossible to find every illegal gun and seize it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Isuk1337 Im in the military but I carry one where ever I go. Personally I carry a Kahr CW9 all day everyday. Here in the US we have what is called freedom thats why in most states you're allowed to conceal carry a gun. The system is far more regulated than what you think and I wish it was easier. In reality it protects from crime because do you think anyone would try to rob you if you put a gun in their face? No. Guns don't kill people, people kill people you could kill someone with a rock.

  • @Isuk1337

This gun is reviewed as a concealed carry and defensive option, not for shooting trees and such. The simplicity of a revolver makes it excellent in the defensive roll for being able to quickly be drawn and readied in a situation where it is needed. When your adrenaline is pumping and your life is on the line, you may forget of safeties on your firearm. The long double-action pull on this gun and lack of exposed hammer are safeties to ensure this weapon cannot be fired on accident.

  • @Isuk1337 Why are you so angry? Do you need a hug?

  • Comment removed

  • how much.?>

  • This guy sure does great reviews.

  • reminds me of a starting pistol from athletics.

  • @jihaad

It also works like one,if you take it out in public and shoot it into the air everyone will run like hell.

  • I carry one on my ankle while in the city. Very Light for a 0.38 revolver. Excellent revolver for concealed & home defense purposes. Reliable, accurate (if you take your time to aim) even at a relatively far distance for a firearm this size. The only problem is the round 'Quick release loader'. when the barrel is out, you can't just easily slide the 5 rounds in. I think the stainless it a little harder to clean, but when I take it to the range, I usually shoot about 200-250 rounds.

  • @twizzlerx25 haha twizzler i bet you got an m16 to protect your lawn from birds and squirrels ,,haha shit you carry this gun on your ankle as a last line of defence ,,whats wrong with using your fists ?

  • @jihaad fists won't save you from what's in west philly, well, maybe YOUR fists will. the m16 carries a 5.56 x 45mm round, a little overkill birds and squirrels, do some research before you speak

  • @twizzlerx25 haha i wanna see a bird get shot by a m-16.

i shot a sparrow with a 20ga. 3 in. turkey load. i didnt find a peice of the bird.

  • @mattinthehouse11 Nutnfancy would never do that. I'm trying to understand why you would. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy cuz i got bored

  • @nutnfancy and they are pests

  • @nutnfancy

Nice man.. you know and respect gun and gun use.. salute you

  • @mattinthehouse11 I'll be honest. Gun people look nuts because of shit like that.

  • @mattinthehouse11 LOL i iz on the top niqqas

  • How mant guns do you have???? does it ever end??

  • @gunman5566 the more the better...

  • Hey Nutn. Love the vids!

I have shot the S&W 642CT. My dad bought one shortly after he bought is SW 686 (Awesome revolver!!). I would have to agree that the sights on the 642CT are terrible! The other drawback, in my opinion, is the light weight. For .38 special, it kicks much more than I had anticipated. It felt like the gun was trying to jump out of my hand while shooting it. Great for concealed carry (but we live in one of the few states that don't allow it ....). Again, awesome review!

  • I see the lack of an exposed hammer to be a plus since there's nothing to snag. Honestly, when are you going to take a single action shot in self defense (with a revolver)?

  • You must not realize i'v done it. You must not realize the inharent accuracy of a revolver.. Barrel length makes little difference. I'v also seen a man at my local range with a crimson trace make large hole at 17 yards ( he was about 80 years old). Do your homework.. Good Luck Bye

  • Enjoy your evaluations. Thinking about buying a S&W 642CT for CCDW carry. Concerned about recoil is CD ammunition. Had planned on a Sig P238 at .380 but velocity concerns coupled with odd ammo availability kind of pushes me toward the .38 special +P. Looked at the Tarus version of the Ruger LCP after watching your video, which was excellen,t but did not like size etc. Have always been a semi auto guy with 34 years of mil service. Any ideas? thanks

  • The business with the "wide cylinder" on revolvers supposedly compromising carryability is much overstated when it comes to small concealment revolvers like this. The upside of the revolver's cylinder is that it breaks up the outline of the gun, so it doesn't scream "gun" to an observer; use a decent soft pocket holster and it just looks like some random junk in your pocket compared to an angular semi-auto.

642CT is a very concealable gun.

  • id prefer a gun with safety because if you have t in your pants and it bets hooked in your buckle......

    there goes your left nut

  • @Danny7930 Wait, how would this go off? Hooked to what?

  • Qualified for my carry permit with one of those.

  • Wow

  • I enjoyed your video. I'm in the process of buying a 642 or a 438. Also, I lived in Brooklyn, NY of years and I remember when the female police officer was "getting her hair done" at a beauty salon and three thugs attempted to rob the beauty salon owner and her clients. The off-duty office saved the day, as you stated, by shooting 2 of the thugs and apprehending the 3rd. Yes, your story is true. Thanks again for your insight on the S&W 642.

  • man i dnt know y bt i jst love revolvers

  • 22 killu quiker than any thing

  • The "Scheels" stores in Iowa and especially Nebraska have a large selection of pistols, shotguns, and rifles for a low price. The one in Iowa has vintage guns as well but they're expensive...$3,000.00 for a 1946 Walther PPK!

  • I will second gk6854's comment for models.

I owned this model w/o the ct. Nice CCW w/ some drawbacks, Mainly accuracy, not so much the gun but the challenge of aiming properly. The trigger pull can easily "pull" ur aim.

Solution: take a pencil head eraser glue it in the back of trigger guard. Calibrate the length to where the back of trigger is "stopped" just b4 discharge. This gives an opportunity to compensate a more accurate shot.

"snake shot" is popular in .38spl as well

  • I owned this pistol and I found the trigger pull to be wretched. And you are right nutn, it's accurate to about 20 feet.

  • @jajohnson330 I also own one. And I think the gun is as accurate as you can shoot it . For proof of this just go to Hickok45 and watch him nail the 80yd gong and easly hit 8 inch plates at 20yds. I'm not saying the gun is easy for anybody to shoot accurately, but if your a good shooter the gun will do it's job............practice...practice....practice

  • @grizz474 i saw a guy hit consitant at 200yds with one....they are great. there is a video on here somewherre.....but the guy holds a world record for how fast he can draw and fire...

  • @fireball676 200yds with that small of a barrel? are you sure

  • @TheAirsoftDemon yep here is the video....bob munden is the guy who did it...hes a champion fast draw and pretty damn good marksman.... watch?v=Tied-t1fFsk&feature=related
