@James: Yes. I *think* we could extract the group-based prior with this method. That's what I was getting at with the "political symbol" task. I should have settled for something easier, like "horse". What does the canonical horse look like? Also note that when I ask for making it tighter, the scatter INCREASES. the hardest part was to keep your eye on your own dot. Often I have to bring my dot off so I could figure out which was mine, especially when all the dots were concentrated together. Popping the balloons was fun tho
sometimes, just keeping my "dot" still was the best way to find it...I kept it still as you suggested making the "A" and noticed that as one of the first still dots, mine became a juncture that other people organized their dots around...
