  • Where can I buy a Steam Calliope

  • @relaxingmusic101 Try putting steamcalliope in your search engine. Morecraft Manufacturing are the only builders left in the world of authentic steam calliopes.

  • We love this great calliope music.

  • You rock Travis!

  • i love this brilliant paddle steamer! i've seen her on my many cruises out of New Orleans! this year i was aboard the Norwegian Spirit and she was due to leave in a couple of hours when i heard the Natchez's beautiful calliope. it made my brother stop dead in his tracks! you guys do a great job, keep up the great work and thanks for posting this!

  • everybody sing your song do dah do dah.LOL

  • I went to the French Quarter today. It echoes throughout the place and sounds great! :) The Natchez looked great as well, all decked out in Christmas decorations!!! Great job!!!

  • Now that's the first steam organ I've seen lighting up.

  • Wonderful job, Travis.

  • he played camptown races.

  • And its a great way to steam the wrinkles out of your clothes too! Makes laundry day much more enjoyable.

  • DUDADUDADEEEEHHJEAHHHH tatmatatattata

  • I've always wanted to see and hear this Calliope on the Natchez. I play a similar one in Melbourne Australia. Love the lights, that really adds another dimension to it. Great music, many thanks.

  • totally, completely, excellent! why do i feel 5 years old when i hear this music?

  • My granny once asked me: What is is it with you men, and steam?

I still dont know, but this is great music.

  • This is, without a doubt, the coolest thing ever.

  • Thanks...I feel the same way when I play them!!!!

  • @riverexplorer Been a lover of steam calliopes since I was 6 years old, man! Theyre the coolest!

Never much liked those electric pneumatic ones tho...too boring

  • @zozey1231 actually it looks pretty hot! wakka wakka!

  • We need more of this Calliope! Please.

  • There are many videos of this instrument on here...search Natchez Calliope and I am sure you fwill find a bunch of them! There are quite a fw really good wideos with Debbie Fagiano and Capt. Clarke "Doc" Hawley playing it. I was a sub during an out of town trip. They are the regulars!

  • Yogi yogi bear!

  • this is better then press one for english

  • How fun. Love the colored lights indicating the notes.

Why is the sound so far off from the video?

    Here, it matters.

  • I think the delay has something to do with the camera I had back then. Because many of my videos shot with the Nicon had the same problem.

  • I lol'd heartily, what a great instrument!

  • My wife, son and I were on a dinner cruise on the Natchez at the last Tall Stacks in Cincinnati. I wanted to see the calliope, but this deck was off limits at the time. We still got to enjoy the music and the echoes it made under the bridges.

  • I thought DOC Holiday was the callipopist... He had a CD out.. Love the calliope music

  • You're probably thinking of Capt. Clarke "Doc" Hawley. He was the first master on the Str. Natchez and to this day still gives calliope "concerts."

  • Yep, that's the guy, I knew the minute I wrote that Holiday, I was t totally wrong.. I met him several times down through the years.

He is a member of the Sons and Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen...so am I..

  • I saw natchez it is it entant itself with the other end of the city it is super

  • That sound brings back memories of my youth. We couldn't see the boats but you could hear the calliope. Thanks for posting!
