In the 1950's, until the appearance of the Boeing 707 toward the end of that decade, the DC-7B was the most luxurious commercial airliner in the sky, though the Lockheed Constellation certainly deserves mention alongside her.
Hi Dave.....just wanted to comment you on your excellent DC-7B footage at Opa Locka. Wish I was standing next to you. I really enjoyed it. Great scene's and HD quality. Just wondered what sort of camera are you using...?
Absolutely beautiful! The beautiful lady has many more years of service left in her thanks to all the work the foundation has done on her. Thank you very much for posting this! :)
This is a very good video, despite the cameraman not knowing the engine startup procedure. 3-4-2-1. And it IS hard to know when to start filming. If you are lucky and have a "ground officer" you can look for "three fingers up". Compare with the video of the first engine runup of the Aviodrome Connie from Holland. Now I'm getting inspired to start up my virtual FS 2004 version of N863D at Opa Locka. I think there is one for FS X to.
I bet the local FBO loves the fuel sales you guys give them lol! Great stuff and way to keep this old girl flying!!!
