@megadomonic Hmm, I think for gaming and all, you're better off with either 3d Studio Max or Maya. AutoCAD, Solidworks etc are more of an engineering tool with optimizations towards task commonly met and required in engineering field.

3dS Max is better for still images and objects, while Maya is better for animations and such, or so I hear more often, there are those who view either one of them as better for both, so try them out and see what you like more :)

@leonxl Try pressing F6 to enable the dynamic UCS function. Then the plane will be automatically changed after your mouse moving to the lens.

3d in acad is easy, just use right hand XYZ to get around. Movies in acad, export to 3d max and animate. its as easy or hard as you want to make it. draw things you like, its just a video game.

They do this to ensure that the new graduates know their software. That forces companies to use ACAD as their standard. Smart move. The only problem is that AutoCAD has become ridiculously glitchy and most of the new features since 2000 are just cumbersome and silly (ie. right click functionality). BTW, you'll be dumped into a market flooded with self-proclaimed AutoCAD experts. AutoCAD is not a skill, it's a tool. I hope you're learning a trade to go with it... for FREE!!!!

Normal Autocad has just basic drawing and modelling tools. You can draw just about anything, its like having a pencil and ruler.

AutoCAD Architecture is closer to building an actual building. You create walls not by drawing them with lines, but special wall tools that create wall objects that can connect to other walls, can have windows and doors placed. Compared to drawing the walls with lines it is much much faster.

Though if you want electrical circuits in buildings use the MEP edition.
