shit, you just took me back about 25 years or so to high school writing Keel, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister all over everything along with all those other bands. Mean set of pipes on that fellah. 80's metal (and it was metal then) fucking rules.
Yea we had reagan a great fucking president and some great fucking music unlike your fucking liberal lady gagagoogoo or some fucking shit these guys had more talent in their damn little toe than all these motherfucking no talent bastards combined. wht the fuck does conservatisam have to do with it you fucking communist libturd.
IF YOU ARE THE PEOPLE WAITING IN THE SHADOWS TO BRING BACK HEAVY AND THRASH METAL CHECK MY PROFILE IM STARTING A BAND AND HAVE A SONG DONE ON GUITAR. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF IT. KEEP YOU HEAD RATTLING
I can't believe Gene $immons thought they were the next big thing. he prolly made more money as "executive producer" than the entire band did. Then again, Big Gene has made many stupid moves since then that have netted him big money somehow...
This song is shit....but I still love it. No really, it's fucking stupid. But it kicks as in some retarded way that I'm still trying to figure out. Go figure. I wouldn't say it's GAY...I would say that it is stupid and cheesy. Not quite gay, though.
Bad ass 80's rock n roll. I originally bought, "The Right to Rock," because i liked the title and the artwork on the cover. I was like, "oh yeah!!" I played the tape and fell in love with the tape. Every song on the tape kicked ass. Unfortunately, i thought this was Keel's best album. I also liked the works of Ron Keel and Yngwie Malmsteen on, Steeler. That was some bad ass shit, too.
I saw KEEL in '85 on this tour. They opened for RAVEN in San Diego, CA.
It was rockin, I was as old as the kid in the video. STEELER album with Yngwie Malmsteen was always a favorite. Great Song Anyway was underrated at the time & before all the gay hair metal of the late 80's.
I lived the 80's but this song sucked then and time has done it no favors. Keel was 3rd rate crap even for a genre that was mostly crap to begin with. I get a kick out of listening to 80s metal now and then as some of it was pretty damn good and holds up well, some of it just makes me laugh but this is just bad.
This brings back memories from the spring of 1985. Getting home after school & cranking up the channel 57 Power Hour on Toronto Rocks. It didn't get much better than those days.
Complete shit! This was the kind of garbage that gave good metal a bad name by association. Predictable, boring and one of the worst vocals I've ever heard!
@PogMoThoin2008 This was the metal that got people into metal, most were listening to Asia at the time, face the facts, metal has never and will never be as popular as it once was back in the 1980s. Metal then was fun and it was music to party too, now its too serious and will never make it past the garages of the bands members themselves.
@swaneeoffback You mentioned Lady Gaga who is coincidentally multiple times the musician that Ron Keel is, and ever was. There was lots of great hard rock in the '80s, but there were also plenty of lesser bands like Keel that diminished the overall quality of '80s metal.
what's ironic is that in 1989 Glam was at it's peak.Top 10 songs from everyside of rock. Aerosmith, Ozzy, Warrant,Skid Row, Kiss. It was anything ,but underground!
I heard this one on a party in the 80´s, I was drunk and thought "Hey, thats good, maybe I get the Record!". Later I got the Album, listened to it and discovered it´s funking bad when you´re sober. Never touched it since.
@Browningauto5magnum ' ONLY WISH I LOOKED MORE LIKE BLACKIE LAWLESS - HE WAS GOOD LOOKIN - OK I JUST WANTED THE GIRLS HE GOT...IN THAT DAY AND TIME...BY THE WAY, I'M THE 'KID' IN THAT THERE KEEL VIDEO 'THE RIGHT TO ROCK', AND I THINKS IT'S A F@#KIN BAD AZZ VIDEO - WHETHER IT WAS ME OR NOT GROUNDBREAKING TERRITORY WITH THE VIDEO BEING FUTURISTIC AND ROCK IS BANNED - BEFORE IT'S TIME STILL - BECAUSE EVENTUALLY IT MIGHT BE ILLEGAL IN PUBLIC TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING NOT ON THE 'APPROVED ARTIST' LIST!!!
ron keel's stupid, they've just re-recorded this coz he thinks this version doesnt sound good! this is totally rockin' all the years playing country music must've addled his brain or sumthin lol.
I remember seeing this video on U-68, an early cable station out of Newark, NJ
The show was called The Heavy Metal Power Hour, and aside from Keel, they showed a whole other slew of videos, among them Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark" and Black And Blue's "Hold On To 18."
@gerndo i saw an interview with him and the asshole said "all i need is this here old pick up truck and this here guitar and im good" he probably fucks the goats and cows on his prarie or ranch or whatever the fuck it is!!! lol
Very essential ,very important part of hard/metal history.KEEL with their brand of hard edged ,street level metal, definately in their OWN rightful way took the WORLD by grabbing it by the 'BALLS"!!!If you don't know KEEL grab the first album 'THE RIGHT TO ROCK"then you'll know what I'm talkin' about.Cause every one has the freedom & the right to ROCKKKK!!!
