Id love to see a zweihander made by these guys. Ive heard great things about their swords. I was thinking of buying Cold Steel's zweihander (two handed great sword), but I think its smaller than its historical counterpart and I know Cold Steel doesnt use historical fittings on most of their swords. So yeah, id love to see a historically accurate German style zweihander made by Darksword. I might even put it on my "swords I want" list :). I hope it wouldnt be too expensive.
If it's one we've already made in the past, such as the Black Knight, it takes 8 hours. The process is much longer for custom pieces and for the "master" (ie, first sword of a given model)
i would love to work at a place like this, pounding hot steel all night while its cold and snowy outside. i was disappointed when i found out ablion just uses CNC machines.
I have the two-handed gothic and it's a good beater/pell sword. It vibrates alot so it doesn't cut "harder" targets like phonebooks very well. But it whacks water bottles very well
@DreadXK7 Well just a newbie guess but it's not like this dude's making "replica swords" but just making swords. Not to look good but that they "DO" look good as a byproduct of their completion. I mean you could probably make some fancy decorative replica out of aluminum or something and have it look the part but that's not going to cut it.... (sorry for that... cut and swords, I can't help myself)
Great video....DSA swords seem to have a good reputation for quality swords at price that's hard to beat. I have read several posts that Eyal has made over at SBG Sword Forum and he seems like a decent guy. Much better to buy a sword made in Canada than something from the Philippines, China or India like just about everything else in that price range!
i say darksword armoury is the best sword maker, price wise and performance wise.. albion is probably the best, but you can get a darksword for a quarter of the price and it is almost as good.
i am really impressed with darksword, and happy they are canadians just like me.
No, we don't do any stock removal. Stock removal doesn't require any forging at all. It only involves using grinders or C&C machines to "cut" out the blade.
for some reason, during the intro song, it reminds of the elder scrolls game

I have a question.. how long does it take to make a sword like The Black Knight Sword? Really impressive forging :) Keep up the good work!

Darksword Armory's weapons are scarily impressive. I've seen their Destructive Testing; these buggers are practically unbreakable.

Would love to be able to make my own sword. Best I could probably do is buy lots of machinery to make the sword I have been designing for years.
