I really thought the game was so so until I saw this and did black flips snorting pure cocaine and drinking melted surger. The ending itself is worth pkaying the game, its the greatest ending to a video game period.
I'm noticing a pattern here as i go through the posts with this "Eu sunt Dracul" business, i've read so far that the Dracul part either means Dracula or dragon,being that Dracul means "Son of Dragon" then it must mean he is saying he is "Son of the Dragon" now anyone who played the two DLCs and listened to what was said, Gabriel said something along the lines of "I will show The Forgotten One that I am the dragon, and he is the prey." meaning he refers to himself as a Dragon, thats my guess.

It would be awesome if they tied in a version of this game's events into the normal CV continuity, and made it out to be that Gabriel is the father of Dracula (maybe Laura gets renamed Cneajna?), but it would also be awesome to see if Dracula fits into LoS2 on his own.
i dint dig the story that much... graphics were nice but the gp for climbing on stuff felt kinda stiff like assassins creed 1. combat was fluid and fun but got boring after all cause i picked the gp up easy.

@vl4dikh Two DLC packs that take place after the main game end's after Gabriel beats Satan, it takes place in the castle with the vampire child Laura from the main game being playable. The second DLC takes place in the underworld where you fight The Forgotton One, the ruler of the power of darkness and the hardest boss in the game. Gabriel took both Laura's vampire powers and The Forgotton One's power of darkness to become stronger than anyone and broke the combat cross in the underworld.
So if Gabriel Belmont is the only Belmont how will Simon would enter the picture? If ther no Belmonts so that mean it will be the Van Helsings? .. Im just guessing though: )

@Rodgersforprez12 Because this game is the origin story of Dracula, the wanted to establish the villian first before the hero. Besides' there have been a few Castlevania games that didn't have Dracula as a boss like Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow and Lament of Innocence.

@ZadorBador I'll answer this, Zobek is alive because he's the lord of the dead, he reperesents Death in physical form so he can't be killed by anyone no matter who they are, even Satan.
Gabriel became a vampire after the main game ended when he drained all the blood from Laura, the vampire child into himself in order to enter a sealed area in the castle to kill a very powerful demon.
@SuperKingshango Gabriel fought and killed the demon after absorbing a massive amount of dark energy into himself and using it against him. This plus the vampire powers, (including immortality) corrupted him into darkness.
Zobek is strong here because Dracula/Gabriel hasn't feed in a long time and most of his powers have diminished over time, Zobek said that he is a mere shadow of his former self meaning he is currently nowhere near as powerful as he one was as Dracula.

The magic seal has weakened thanks to the Dark lords' death, Gabriel faces the Forgotten one, but before defeating him the Belmont absorbs the forgotten's dark powers becoming evil and immortal once and for all...
IIRC I know Gabriel had to live a life of immortality but what was it that made him become a vampire? I knew he had been tormented by the death of his wife and the sire but I never really got the Dracula relation for this scene.

@Lyon3ng Romanian actually. The name Dracula in fact, means "Son of the Dragon". When the Vampire Lord refers to himself as "Dracul" he really is saying, "I am the Dragon."
I am Romanian and "Eu sunt Dracul" means "I am the Devil". I'm not sure if they wanted to make a connection with Vlad Tepes also known as Vlad Dracul, the historical figure which was the inspiration for all the Dracula books/movies

Wow. I'll eventually get this game for cheap but this ending is pretty lame IMO. Saying this is a Castlevaina game is a rip-off. If Simon Belmont became a vampire, he'd find a cure or probably would kill himself. Not sulk in the dark like a baby. When the game was first announced it was called Lords of Shadow, and wasn't linked to Castlevania. I honestly think they just changed enough to ride on the coat tails of Castlevania and make a God of War clone.
@rkairsoft Gabriel becoming Dracula makes sense when you link Mathias's backstory with his, both became Dracula after the loss of a loved one and cursed God for taking them away. Gabriel hasn't been in hiding for that long, just about 100 years or so. After defeating The Forgotton One and absorbing his power of darkness he became known as the "Prince of Darkness" so he had made a name for himself over the past thousand years as Dracula, what made him hide in a church is unknown.
And another thing, this game DID start off as a Castlevania game from the beginning, a 3D remake of the original game with Simon Belmont and all, the concept trailer is on Youtube if you wanna see for yourself, it was then cancelled because Konami thought it was "too dark" for the series. Then Konami changed their minds but wanted to take a different spin on Castlevania and thus Castlevania Lords of Shadow was born.

I don't want see Castlevania in modern times. But that's what I thought. I want to see a continuation of the new timeline.
I love the graphics in this new game. The light just peals of the screen. It's excellent. And finally being able to do fatalities as opposed to just beating your enemy to death with a stabbing weapon is nice.I miss health potions and life aples.
LoS tries to invoke SoTN. And not without merit. It does a very good job of bringing that title to mind. But (and forgive me for this) doesn't equal Super Castlevania IV. Calling Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Super Castlevania IV would be like calling LoZ Twilight Princess LoZ ALTTP. Their both better versions of excellent games.
But they just aren't those games. PS Cannot wait for the sequel.
If the first Belmont becomes Dracula? Then who will the second Belmont be? This is a reboot. So it possibly won't be Simon.
I'm torn. Because I love playing as Alucard. But would hate to see Castlevania in modern times. I prefer the older titles that used the historical Dracula. Not some uber demonic entety who lived before Vlad Tepes Dracula. This game could've used swordfighting on horseback. If only the protaganist used a sword.

However, I wouldn't hold out the possibility of Alucard showing up in the sequel since the producer has said that he has plans for Alucard down the line.
Guys Guys the ending is set in the modern day to symbolise how f***ed over Gabriel had gotten. He has been an immortal Dracula for centuries and his morality has been almost completely erased, I think the producers wanted to exemplify the torment and betrayal he has been through, and that when castlevania LoS sequel comes out (CANNOT WAIT, IT IS BEING PRODUCED AS WE SPEAK!!) it will be set in just a beautiful scenario as LoS is...btw one of the greatest storylines, who agrees!

IIRC I know Gabriel had to live a life of immortality but what was it that made him become a vampire? I knew he had been tormented by the death of his wife and the sire but I never really got the Dracula relation for this scene.

@biggydx in the DLC resurrection he goes back to a temple of forgetten with laura....to enter inside the chamber he had to become immortal..so laura asks him to drink her blood and drain all of it with all of laura's vampire powers...from their he became a vampire and defeats god of darkness after absorbing the powers of darkness.....from there he then became dracula

I am Romanian and "Eu sunt Dracul" means "I am the Devil". I'm not sure if they wanted to make a connection with Vlad Tepes also known as Vlad Dracul, the historical figure which was the inspiration for all the Dracula books/movies

@TrollTroop006 Leon doesn't exist in this timeline, Gabriel is/was the only known Belmont and I dont think he had any kids with Marie so the bloodline begins and ends with him.

@SuperKingshango No, after he becomes Dracula, he gets with Lisa, another human, and has Adrien F. Tepes, or Alucard. Alucard meets with Sonia, who becomes a Belmont after he marries her, and then he has Leon. Then Leon has Trevor, Trevor got Sypha and had Christopher, Christopher has Simon, Simon has Richter, and Richter has Juste. Where Julius is in the Family Tree, I don't know, and how Gabriel's last name changed to Tepes, Alucard's last name: Tepes, when he married Sonia and (cont.)

@Zerolimiter402 You are wrong...Dracul means "the devil" I'm originary Romanian..."The Dragon" if the name of his father which was "Vlad al II-lea Dracul" it has more than one meanigns...the original Dracula is Vlad Tepes known for his thirst of blood he was one of the rulers of Romania 1432. But "dracul" totally means "the devil" ;).

@NosferatuOdraude No, he IS Dracula. Before his last encounter with the forgotton one, he kept compairing himself to a dragon and that the forgotton one is his prey. Dracul actually means "Dragon" in Romanian but in the official artwork and the producer of the game itself say's that Gabriel is THE Dracula. Dont let his weak state fool you, Dracula is EXTREMELY powerful at full strength, other than Death he's the strongest being on Earth. He's known the Prince of darkness for a reason.

Wow. I'll eventually get this game for cheap but this ending is pretty lame IMO. Saying this is a Castlevaina game is a rip-off. If Simon Belmont became a vampire, he'd find a cure or probably would kill himself. Not sulk in the dark like a baby. When the game was first announced it was called Lords of Shadow, and wasn't linked to Castlevania. I honestly think they just changed enough to ride on the coat tails of Castlevania and make a God of War clone.

@rkairsoft Gabriel becoming Dracula makes sense when you link Mathias's backstory with his, both became Dracula after the loss of a loved one and cursed God for taking them away. Gabriel hasn't been in hiding for that long, just about 100 years or so. After defeating The Forgotton One and absorbing his power of darkness he became known as the "Prince of Darkness" so he had made a name for himself over the past thousand years as Dracula, what made him hide in a church is unknown.

And another thing, this game DID start off as a Castlevania game from the beginning, a 3D remake of the original game with Simon Belmont and all, the concept trailer is on Youtube if you wanna see for yourself, it was then cancelled because Konami thought it was "too dark" for the series. Then Konami changed their minds but wanted to take a different spin on Castlevania and thus Castlevania Lords of Shadow was born.

I don't want see Castlevania in modern times. But that's what I thought. I want to see a continuation of the new timeline.
I love the graphics in this new game. The light just peals of the screen. It's excellent. And finally being able to do fatalities as opposed to just beating your enemy to death with a stabbing weapon is nice.I miss health potions and life aples.

LoS tries to invoke SoTN. And not without merit. It does a very good job of bringing that title to mind. But (and forgive me for this) doesn't equal Super Castlevania IV. Calling Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Super Castlevania IV would be like calling LoZ Twilight Princess LoZ ALTTP. Their both better versions of excellent games.
But they just aren't those games. PS Cannot wait for the sequel.

If the first Belmont becomes Dracula? Then who will the second Belmont be? This is a reboot. So it possibly won't be Simon.
I'm torn. Because I love playing as Alucard. But would hate to see Castlevania in modern times. I prefer the older titles that used the historical Dracula. Not some uber demonic entety who lived before Vlad Tepes Dracula. This game could've used swordfighting on horseback. If only the protaganist used a sword.

However, I wouldn't hold out the possibility of Alucard showing up in the sequel since the producer has said that he has plans for Alucard down the line.

Guys Guys the ending is set in the modern day to symbolise how f***ed over Gabriel had gotten. He has been an immortal Dracula for centuries and his morality has been almost completely erased, I think the producers wanted to exemplify the torment and betrayal he has been through, and that when castlevania LoS sequel comes out (CANNOT WAIT, IT IS BEING PRODUCED AS WE SPEAK!!) it will be set in just a beautiful scenario as LoS is...btw one of the greatest storylines, who agrees!
