  • A freaking masterpiece! One of the greatest songs of all time, without a doubt. When it comes to metal music there are only 3 other songs I could think of that match the brilliance of this one. Hallowed be thy Name by Iron Maiden, Master of Puppets by Metallica, and War Pigs by Black Sabbath. Without a doubt the 4 greatest metal masterpieces (to me that is).

  • always a favorite,fantastic solo`s

  • I want this played at my funeral

  • uhhh.... I opened another video, and tried to pause this one.... it wouldn't pause. I'm scared.

  • without a doubt,the best solo ever,at a minute and 18 seconds.

  • My favourite song of all time......so beautiful.....

  • amazing!

  • man i love the acoustics in this with my stereo headphones.

  • @cyberwaffles the 12 string really stands out in my earphones

  • 3 people were skewered though their skulls...

  • Beginning at 3:00.... this is why Glen Tipton is genius!

  • Love this song and album!

  • Very under rated solo. Very under rated guitarists.

  • I think Judas Priest will always be at the top of my list and first in my heart, along with Slayer. <3

I think I'm gonna slap the next person who mentions Shitney Smears. -.-

  • One of the all time great bands. One of the all time great songs. One of the all time great guitar solos.

  • Thank God and everyone who created it for music (classic metal)

  • great music!

  • I totally agree! they all need there ears tested!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If this song has only 46k views, the Apocalypse, the end of World is really near..FUCK.

  • Gosh This is My all time fave Priest song and album. I even did my high school final term paper on this band and this album and got an A.

  • yes, I complain too. THIS SONG ISN'T PERFECT yet

  • If I ever buried a time capsule, I would fill it with Judas Priest music.

  • Love the beginning of the guitar solo, not so much the ending, but still great.

  • 45000 views and 3 dislikes? wtf

  • I first heard Sad Wings and Stained Class back in the early '80s when my older brother copied the two albums onto cassette tape! From the time I heard those albums, I was hooked. I once even travelled down to the far reaches of Cornwall and met the chap who painted the Sad Wings cover, although he confessed to me that he never met the band. Priest will always be a part of me even now as a classically-trained teacher and performer!

  • 4o\m/

  • Masterpiece

  • amazing, so deep like ocean.

  • This is a classic song by Judas priest. Just like One is a classic tune by Metallica. Starts out slow and then delivers one of the best guitar solos ever. Equal in greatness. And depth and darkness. Words cant describe how this song delivers you.

  • fucking genius! JUDAS PRIEST GREAT!

  • Does this take anyone else home to the land of GODS

  • seeing them in 3 weeks :D i can't wait

  • This is my life....I'll decide, NOT YOU!

  • Masterpiece. No word to add.

  • fucking amazing song

  • guys stop being wise ,prophets and music messiahs...let the fools remain like they are,if they wanna change they will...chill

  • @laurikaru we are good but how do we communicate the message of Metal Gods to the young generation who get brainwashed into Lday Gaga and Rihanna and Justin Bieber?

  • After all these years this song still sounds like the first time i heard it. Judas Priest you are the metal gods.

  • I saw Judas Priest perform this song live in 1979 on the Hell Bent For Leather tour; This song is without a doubt, not only the best song put out by Judas Priest, but one the ALL TIME BEST heavy metal songs ever made!! Seriously guys, you need to get past the lyrics; the song is about one individual. No one is suggesting that you kill youself!!

  • @mikesikorski While I agree with almost everything you said...my personal feeling is that anyone who believes that rock/metal causes people to commit violent acts and/or kill themselves SHOULD kill themselves to support their contention and rid our society of such IDIOCY within a generation or 2--come on morons, do your part for humanity!!!

  • @420metalhippie that was a little intense...

  • @sn250 Good, I was afraid I'd toned it down too much.

  • @mikesikorski Even if it is suggesting, the song still a one of the very best masterpieces ever produced

  • this and Heroes End should be heard together!

  • i will play this song when i kill myself ... the world is indeed a place not fit for living in.

  • @slutypet dont kill yourself dude, trust me its not worth it

  • @kekeoki123 how do you know?

  • @slutypet you only get one life, then thats that cutting it shorts not the answer in my opinion. Though I can't say I know your situation and stuff so I cant tell you what to do or not do. I'm just saying life is precious there are hard times and there are good times. And in the words of The Priest on the song deliverin the good you gotta roll with the punches.

  • @kekeoki123 lol =p

  • Love it Richy0326!!! If he has any progeny they might be lucky enough to inherit his vocal skills! Doesn't seem likely he has any kids tho.

  • best metal band ever!

  • Judas was actually helping Jesus, he was full-filling the prophecy of the son of god himself, someone had to do it....

  • I wonder if Halford has left those amazing vocal chords of his to anyone in his will?

  • glad to see you youngsters enjoying the priest! I started seeing them live in 1988 and I felt like i missed there good years,, but I must say the ram it down tour, painkiller, were great shows,, then halford left and then ripper took over and they were even harder. Judas rising was awesome to take my daughter to and have her stand on top of the chair leaning against me with horns high, rock the priest \w/ \w/

  • glad to see you youngsters enjoying the priest! • Glenn's solo is the best solo in metal history.

  • You know what's fucked? This MASTERPIECE song has been on here for 3+ years and only has 28,000 views, but Brittney Pap Smears, or Katy fucking Perry get 50 million views in a week! This planet is fucked, a lot of people need a slap across the face to snap them back into reality! All hail Judas Priest and AWESOME music like this! Fuck the rest of the world if they want to be a bunch of blind sheep and follow trends! \m/

  • @theraj662 a thousand per cent agree with you !!! Present time really sucks !

  • @theraj662 I couldn't have said it better myself, thank you!

  • @theraj662 - i totally agree.. metal will never be appreciated as a genre

  • @theraj662 These people are the same sheep that have every episode of americal idol on their DVR and insist lady gagger has talent....they have to be told what to listen to...what to wear...and who to vote for... fuck the lemmings.....we don't want them clogging up ticket sales for the VERY FEW real bands still alive anyway..Up the Irons \m/

  • @theraj662

Should be the highest rated comment dude

  • @theraj662 Its all bullshit going around. Justin Bieber etc have more than 500 million views. All hail the Metal Gods! \m/

  • @theraj662 좀 좋은 말로 하지...

  • @theraj662 FUCK YEAH

  • @theraj662 i hear ya bro, i saw them with zep in oakland in 77 when no one knew who they were, also the hell bent for leather tour and point of entry tour... even in 77 they were pretty good, no matter what the reviews of that concert were, if you were listening you got a glimpse of the future of hard rock... zep at their "swansong" and JP at their humble beginnings.... glad i was there.... they have so many classic metal songs, even going back to rockarolla and sad wings....JP forever..

  • @theraj662 how fuckin true this was real jams in my time and still is

  • @theraj662 lol shutup, you're like the thousandth person to complain about how "good" music is ignored these days. The reality of the situation things fall out of popularity and people move on to new things. I guarantee you in 30 years people will barely remember bands like Judas Priest and somewhat recognize say Lady Gaga. The new is always the now, kind of unfortunate but oh well

  • @ambidextrousswordmen I agree, in 30 years people will still remember Priest and somewhat MAYBE recognize Lady Gaga, because Lady G is unique, and although I am not a fan of LG, I can recognize the merits in her. The stuff that gets memorized and revered over time is the good stuff, and the trash, rightly so, forgotten. 30 yrs from now , NO ONE will remember or care about tripe like Ashley Tisdale, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, etc.

  • @theraj662 lady gaga is a total madonna rip off.

  • @theraj662 because Katy Perry has nice boobs and people who watch them can only think with their penises..But even the 3 motherfucker have some brains

  • @theraj662 Who cares man!! This music is not for the masses!! I don't think Judas Priest gives a rats ass on how many people watch their videos on Youtube!!! They have nothing to prove to anyone!!

  • @theraj662-Britney Smears is pretty cool actually! I love Maiden, Priest, Wishbone Ash, Testament, Megadeth, Chicago, Rolling Stones, Love, ABBA, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Beatles, Herman's Hermits, silly 80's nonsense, etc.

  • @theraj662

Would you really want the idiots who listen to Britney Spears listening to this stuff? I wouldn't. I define myself as the opposite of those trendy losers.

  • @theraj662 although you're right, i'm sure that if youtube existed back in the 70's we would be seeing a lot of rock and pop from back then viewed in the millions.

  • @theraj662 take heart,my man and remember that "disco duck" was a big hit in the 70's. just cause the sheeple out there listen to today's musical moose drool doesn't mean it can't be used as toilet paper.

  • @SharinganMan You may be thinking of Styx's "Suite Madame Blue" which was from 1975. This song was from 1978. I have no idea if one influenced the other, but I always thought the beginning of this song sounded like "Suite Madame Blue."

  • @SharinganMan

Maybe One by Metallica? It's at least slightly similar for sure.

  • Damm memories of backyard parties in high school gettin fucked up on keg beer!

  • i love this song so fucking much, its a master peace

  • Idk why but I thought of one of my friends who died in a car accident a few years back when this song played on my iPod :(

  • i'm gonna see them this june @ graspop Belgium...

    the last tour of them...

  • Probably the greatest guitar solo of all time.

  • @kekeoki123 It is a fucking great solo. I was thinking almost the same. I was about to write something about the guitar solo and it was already here. I can never accept anything in music to be better than Nazareth. If I wasn't such a hardcore Nazareth fan I would probably declare this the best solo of all time. I love Nazareth's guitar solo's. Some of the best ever recorded/ played. The thing I love about both Nazareth and JP is the vocal range of the singers, and the versatility of the bands.

  • I want this song playing on my funeral...

  • Ahhh, back when true metal was tuned to "E" and guitar solos gave you an out-of-body experience. Epic track!!! One of the best Priest songs, if not songs period, ever written!

  • wheres the fucking epic metal song button????????????? awesome!!!

  • judas priest is so underrated guys. seriously

  • @MrBotheman You're preaching to the choir on the alter

  • Glenn's solo is so beautiful. Love this song!

  • Sorry but Holy man by Deep Purple is lot better than this one.

  • @zzzzzzzz594 then go comment on that song.

  • THIS IS A CLASSIC METAL SONG. ONE OF THE BEST METAL TUNES EVER WRITTEN

  • Who the f*** unlike this??

  • in life, some things aren't meant to be duplicated .. this song, to include the works of Glenn, Rob, and KK, only come by once in a lifetime .. let's give thanks that we were alive and witness to such an achievement .. thank you God for letting me be a fan of Priest

  • @SPPoncho88 for sure.... I saw Priest for the first time in 1978 on this tour..and maybe a dozen times total... I saw Iron Maiden open for them on the Screaming for Vengeance tour in 1982....Have seen Maiden 30 times .. in 2000 Halford solo opened for them. These 2 bands have been showing how it's done for 35 years...yet, so few get it right

  • @WrathchildNH I know but that is an old comment, but you are so right. I am only 16, yet I love Priest and Maiden. I saw Maiden live back during Somewhere Back In Time, and I now aspire to see Priest during the Epitaph tour. I can't wait. Even though KK has left, I still want to experience their greatness live. My one chance, and I cannot blow it. Undoubtedly the two greatest bands ever.

  • @AncientMariner22 and I felt like i missed there good years,, but I must say the ram it down tour, painkiller, were great shows,, then halford left and then ripper took over and they were even harder. Judas rising was awesome to take my daughter to and have her stand on top of the chair leaning against me with horns high, rock the priest \w/ \w/ see them while you still can

  • im a 90s kid and i listen to ths i am so cool my friernds take the piss out me for liking ths kind of music and im like ths had no computers to make it sound better even tho it duz not need fixed LOL ferever rock and metel

  • Amazing songs, This sort of talent will probably never exist again, The 70's-80's were the best years ever I wish I could of been apart of it,

  • Még mindig imádjuk ezt a számot!! Csacsi és Mustang :)))

  • METAL GODS!!!!!!!!

  • Most of the guitar parts for this song (excluding the solos) were written by Priest's drummer at the time, Les Binks. One day during the recording of Stained Class, the left-handed drummer came into the studio, picked up a guitar (flipped it over) and came up with the killer riff. This was to be Binks' only songwriting credit during his time with Judas Priest. Thank You Mr. Binks!

  • @The1WhoKnowsTheTruth He did a great job.

  • The place is all too familiar, most often where i live...take this world with all its sin...for its not fit for livin in...days and days i sit in silence, the life i have is in my mind, there i can be safe to speak with my own kind...or not...as the case may be...but its safer still than the world at large, and some day maybe i will begin again...the problem is no one wins...and forever is a very long time to be alone in one's mind, the only kiss being felt is the wind's kiss goodbye....

  • @lyon1535 its far from emo...yet what music doesn't evoke emotion, or speak to parts of us that words alone cannot touch? Its a great metal ballad...there is quite a difference. It defies labels, it just speaks to the heart.

  • @solacdncs Sorry, I was being a jerk. I shouldn't have posted that, I didn't actually mean it.

  • Depressive lyrics, but this one is part of my top ten best heavy metal songs of all time.

  • Best Heavy Metal Solo Ever! Along With Queensryche's Queen Of The Ryche And Iron Maiden's Powerslave!!! ^_^

  • It's so cool, in my Psychology class, we're learning about subliminal messages and my teacher spent 10 minutes talking about the supposed one off this album and the lawsuit against Priest. I have never been so proud of a teacher before hahaha

  • My favorite Priest song. Someday I will commit suicide to this song.

  • @SelfHatredofSelf dude thats fucked up..

  • The two best guitar solos EVER !!!

  • Fucken great band, song, and album.

  • Great music apart, the lyrics of this song are so profound, and existential, just amazing. JP forever!

  • Priest forever!

  • Yeah, well I get it. I LIVED it for eight years. Luckily I got help.

  • This song forever changed the way I played the guitar. Thanks Glenn and KK.

  • @screaminrieman

Same with me! It put me into a whole bluesier phase! Then I got really into Friedman, Becker, Lynch and it changed again....

  • "suite madame blue..." of Styx... it's a same...

  • i want rock and roll to live up to its true form back at the 70's 80's and 90's i just want it to come back

  • Min. 1:06 great voice and great Metal

  • This was my main song 20 yrs ago or so- still rocks today. Underrated because so many idiots just dont get it yo ! ;)

  • Somewhere out in the deepest reaches of the Galaxy, a little green man has tuned in to a new signal that took years to reach his aural orofice..and he raises his little fingers and Di-os, bobbing his heed and wibbling around the pod, laying his large and visceral head back... utters a scream like Halfords,,, The neighborhood will never be the same again now that Juniors discovered Rock!

  • Acoustic intros sounded way more epic back then

  • besides maiden this is definitly my second favorite band

  • ..Vacsi... mind1...

    CSACSINAK... forever..

Look at this video guys , i did it .. it's the solo of beyond the realms of death (:

  • ¡¡¡Muchísimas gracias por colgar esta joya absoluta!!!

  • Reason is...poeple have a short memory....

    and slammed the door.

    No matter how they tried...

    Some know, others will.

My name is Will... I own Desire... not money, or anything else

  • heavy rock at its best!....early priest up until killing machine, rocked the balls off everyone else at the time!! cheers for the upload, ''look out here's star breaker, cruisin into town!".....

  • Stained Class IS the best JP record. Sin After Sin is a VERY close 2nd place and Sad Wings is right behind them. Back then, NOBODY sounded like JP. (76-79)

Sure, there was Black Sab and other VERY few exponents of metal, which was not even a widely used term. The sound of JP was unique. I've been a fan since Sad Wings came out, my first concert of theirs: Sunday, Oct. 14, 79, front center, pressed against the fence.

Then the bandwagon and copycats started rollin' with "British Steel"

  • @MeanrBeanr British Steel was great and all, but what made it "the greatest"? When you think of Sad Wings and this album, it dosent compare.

  • i wish i was 16 years old back in 78 .when i was just 2 years old then.and grab my uncles beegees and other disco shit albums and burn them to the ground .this music was way ahead of all the crap going around that era .viva judas priest

  • the greatest metal band of all time.

  • THE JUDAS IS RISING!!!!!!!

  • This is my life! This is my life! I'll decide not you! now that what I call metal!

  • Im glad iv seen these guys play at least once, cos by the time they might come round again, well, they might not come round again XD Saw them 2009 feb 17th, manchester apollo, and what a show it was, halfords voice has got actually better since he joined back, so it was an honour to have him metres in front of me screaming painkiller! :D:D

    \m/ \m/ METALGODS!

  • kick ass tune

  • fade to black was sort of the same mood

maybe a little heavier with the suicide feeling

but not applying to commit suicide as people may claim

  • this song is one of the greatest metal songs of all times and it's so underrated , why the fuck..... ???

  • Cause people fucking suck. Learn to live with it.

  • @ultimatemanofwar So fuckin true...

  • @ultimatemanofwar cause people like listening to poser shit like nu metal and metalcore, i personally dont hate them, its way easier just dont listen to them, but its a shame that people who thinks they are metalheads and they dont even know bands like saxon, judas priest, diamond head, UFO.. it's a pity dont ya think?

  • @ultimatemanofwar Glens guitar solo tone sends chills down my spine...it almost..hell it DOES make me weep!

  • @harveydents

you know it does :) i feel you my brother

  • great solo

  • Solomaster.

  • goooooooooood

  • This song is amazing and masterful in all ways

  • this song makes me cry and cry...that's incredible how the music reflects in your life. Thanks.

  • I really do believe that this song actually

predicted Ray's death and James's death three

    years later.

  • Totally true!

This song reflet a bad moment in my life, I didn't stop to listen it!

  • This song gives me a feeling I can't describe

  • Fucken love this song.

    I completely agree with bloodstone83.

    Very underrated song.

  • best metal singer by far....

  • halfords voice is very unique, idk what anyone says no one sounds as good as him. - kick ass song - used to listen to it way back in the day - thx for posting - brings back memories

  • the best solo is in this song!honestly

  • i agree

i just listened to the blind gaurdian cover. it was still awesome but i prefer glenn tipton and kk downing.
