Are you sure that the supreme court ruling makes it legal to actually hurt real animals, or does it just make it legal to show depictions of animals being hurt, as long as they're not actually hurt. Like in a movie you might see a guy kick an annoying yapping dog across the street, but it's just a camera trick. He doesn't kick the dog in real life.

She was the creepiest cat. She'd sit there and wait for you to look at her, and then she'd let out this low, quiet, quick meow. She, like Zoey, was saved from starvation.

I have never met a single person in my native Tennessee or any other southern state for that matter who talks like that, or acts that way. I'm sure its good for a laugh. Since when discussing "stupid" people the hollywood version of the "typical" southerner is the norm to go to, but again, this kind of talk does not exist beyond the fever dreams of northerners. (No, I am not in favor of hurting animals, I just get tired of always being labeled as stupid because of geography.)
@Blain1971 Stereotypes exist for a reason, so I'm pretty sure somewhere in the south (most likely Arkansas) you'll find someone who talks like that. I do know that no one in Texas talks like that because we have Texas accents aka the Texas Twang. They are hard to pull off successfully. I have yet to hear a good Texas accent in movies. Don't get me started on the accents in Trueblood. They are so horrible! My dad's family is from Louisiana and they do not sound like that! It makes my ears bleed.

@Direness I am in law enforcemement so I deal with the public all day and every day, and have found that a person's level of education may lead them to talk in a certain way, not where they are from. Certainly not the "entire demo of the south". As for the intelligence of other parts of the U.S. I came up on a man from Cal. once who locked himself out of his car and couldn't get back in. I pointed out to him that since his back window was down, it shouldn't be a problem.

And access to education is dependent on economic status - which is often determined by where you are from.

If its local to say "yer" instead of "your", and its "okay" to treat others rudely, it's going to be "normal" for you. And everyone else is going to think you're nuts and/or stupid. Which, intelligence is a combination of genetics and environment. If your environment doesn't encourage the development of common sense and your innate intelligence, you may end up "stupid".

I am serious when I say the East Coast and the South ARE the rudest people I encounter on a daily basis, and interactions with those regions often turn bizarre. As for accent, you might read "The Adventure of English" by Melvyn Bragg; he writes about how areas get labeled as "less intelligent" through accent and use of language.

It might be funny until someone actually does it. Also nice to hear that you rescued Zoey from starvation. We did the same for a declawed Maine Coon that was abandoned by neighbors because she smelled. Sort of like how murder is illegal, but a depiction of a murder isn't - if it were, murder scenes in movies would be illegal. The decision didn't make it okay to hurt kitties, or anyone else fluffy.

Don't you think people these days are; perhaps a little oversensitive regarding the aspect of what you should say, and not say on a public spectrum? I'm glad to see SOMEONE standing up for animals. It's hard to have a voice heard in this crazy world. I've tried. and still am trying. But anyway, great videos and watching you affectionaly scratch your cats' rears reminds me of a cat I used to have, her name was Angelique, but everyone called her smooshface. She was the creepiest cat. She'd sit there and wait for you to look at her, and then she'd let out this low, quiet, quick meow. She, like Zoey, was saved from starvation.

that someone would say that is horrible. By making it legalfor animal abuse to be shown in a video, you make animal abuse legal. And that just makes me disgusted that not only do sick people who abuse animals roam the earth, but they're doing it publicaly and public officials aren't trying to stop it.

i agree with this video intirely lately we just got a abandened cat living in the woods compleately declawed our family has also been vaulinteering at animal clinics around arkansas acturally we just rescued a cat starving on the streets the other day and now has a new home!!! but i have gotten worried our cat 8'ball has reached the age of 19 and has'nt been himself so if you have any ideas to make the rest of his time better please tell me and thanks for posting these vids your good at them !!!

Although I LOVE cats, and I think they, and other animals, should be legally protected from physical violence, I must say that the right to free speech is also legally protected. Though freedom of speech does NOT cover physical violence against animals, it does cover saying hateful things about them in a public forum.
So, BOO to sxephil for not liking cats, but he has every right to talk about it. One shouldn't be censored just because idiots might respond by do something stupid.

I have never met a single person in my native Tennessee or any other southern state for that matter who talks like that, or acts that way. I'm sure its good for a laugh. Since when discussing "stupid" people the hollywood version of the "typical" southerner is the norm to go to, but again, this kind of talk does not exist beyond the fever dreams of northerners. (No, I am not in favor of hurting animals, I just get tired of always being labeled as stupid because of geography.)

@Blain1971 Stereotypes exist for a reason, so I'm pretty sure somewhere in the south (most likely Arkansas) you'll find someone who talks like that. I do know that no one in Texas talks like that because we have Texas accents aka the Texas Twang. They are hard to pull off successfully. I have yet to hear a good Texas accent in movies. Don't get me started on the accents in Trueblood. They are so horrible! My dad's family is from Louisiana and they do not sound like that! It makes my ears bleed.

@Direness I am in law enforcemement so I deal with the public all day and every day, and have found that a person's level of education may lead them to talk in a certain way, not where they are from. Certainly not the "entire demo of the south". As for the intelligence of other parts of the U.S. I came up on a man from Cal. once who locked himself out of his car and couldn't get back in. I pointed out to him that since his back window was down, it shouldn't be a problem.

And access to education is dependent on economic status - which is often determined by where you are from.

If its local to say "yer" instead of "your", and its "okay" to treat others rudely, it's going to be "normal" for you. And everyone else is going to think you're nuts and/or stupid. Which, intelligence is a combination of genetics and environment. If your environment doesn't encourage the development of common sense and your innate intelligence, you may end up "stupid".

I am serious when I say the East Coast and the South ARE the rudest people I encounter on a daily basis, and interactions with those regions often turn bizarre. As for accent, you might read "The Adventure of English" by Melvyn Bragg; he writes about how areas get labeled as "less intelligent" through accent and use of language.

Definitely agree with your view that someone out there may have taken the evil cat thing too far. People need to be careful about what they say in jest concerning animals. It might be funny until someone actually does it. Also nice to hear that you rescued Zoey from starvation. We did the same for a declawed Maine Coon that was abandoned by neighbors because she smelled. Cleaned her up and she is a happy, indoor, odor free cat that dutifully guards a back window from terrorists. Great vids

The recent SCOTUS decision didn't strike down a ban on animal cruelty, just a ban on depictions of animal cruelty. The actual acts of animal cruelty themselves are still illegal where the jurisdiction in question makes it so.
Sort of like how murder is illegal, but a depiction of a murder isn't - if it were, murder scenes in movies would be illegal. The decision didn't make it okay to hurt kitties, or anyone else fluffy.
